So this crash seems to be graphic related, am I right?

Then Cryptic should ask ATI and Nvidia for some expert help.

But anyway, it is always nice to see that Cryptic still keeps sticking to their "non-verbal communication" to us when they have again pulled the plug.

I managed to get the Error code for the graphics memory crash I mentioned earlier: 14178799.

I tweeted BranFlakes just to see what would happen I asked if they had an idea of cause or eta and this was the response... Sorry to share this news.

"-7741 is still under investigation. No ETA at this time, but the team is working as hard as possible on a resolution."

Do I read that right, that you can't get in anymore? Even with SwiftShader?
    Or was that someone else?

Correct. Even with the new file added in I cant get in.

One thing I dont understand is why some of us (including myself) cant even get past the Launcher AutoUpdate

I was on it fine and loaded (the main launcher) in under 10 secs before the patch yesterday.

I cant see them updating the actual launcher or changing the update server to be fair.

    #BAFFLED!
That is actually something I can't explain, either.

It's definitively no graphics issue, you got there.

Still, I wonder if there might be another thread out there about this problem.

Asking AMD (ATI is a part of AMD, nowadays) and Nvidia about this issue should be a good idea.
I think Cryptic already had this idea. :)
But I don't think they'll go too much into detail with us about what they're doing.

    That said...

I'm sure we'll get an update from Brandon as soon as he has some actual news besides of the "They're working on it."

Now, that's odd. I still can get in.
After deleting the Gameprefs file, I got rid of that memory crash.
Well, changing any graphics settings ingame is a pain in the aft section and the game is set to windowed mode and half res (both not changeable by me). This causes my hud to be a crowded mess and DOFFing isn't really doable, as the whole game follows that low framerate, except the mouse. Which means, that all buttons react with a certain lagtime to a click. Popping up interaction windows sometimes don't react at all, first, need a second or third try.

All this slowly points me to the conclusion that it would be a necessity for me to find that Win7 DVD to get that new machine running, if Iever want to enjoy STO again.

I found out who causes all this mess. It's the Iconians.

Thanks to them, dev messages get lost in subspace, so we think they abandoned us.
They even hide some erratic code in subspace, so the devs can't find the fault.
They manipulated the error codes to confuse the devs.

They travelled back in time to prevent us from stopping them in the far future.

After winning that new ticket I thought it was an admission slip to holodeck. Went there and they took it away from me and gave me back 18897741.

Well I am still getting the same error code. I keep trying it, but no matter what I do it is there.

Its like an old friend or an annoying uncle.....
    Lest we forget 18897741

The Founders? They were mere marionettes for them.
(Which makes them even less than the servitude races.)
Thus your blaming them wasn't completely off, they even believed themselves they'd be up to something...
