It's named after a video game I've created with an RPG make XP program.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

VAdm Sills now commands the Obelisk Carrier USS Olympus Mons (because its shape reminds me of the Everest-class dreadnaughts in Mass Effect).
VAdm Nniol tr'Keiniadh commands the Obelisk Carrier RRW ch'Rihan.
And VAdm Grunt owns and operates the OC USS Leviathan. Seriously, those things are freaking huge.
VAdm Sajak hasn't opened his yet; I'm still deciding on a name, since his ships are named after military SF writers. I was thinking of the USS Robert A. Heinlein - sure, there are a lot of other Heinleins out there, but I've already got ships named David Drake, Pournelle, and Haldeman...
At the moment, my characters are flying the following;
Human Fed Tac - U.S.S. Retort, Avenger-class battle cruiser (I just like the name)
Alien KDF Tac - O.S.S. D'Novan, Marauder-class Flight Deck Cruiser (O.S.S. might mean Orion Syndicate Ship in-game, but it still makes me think of the Office of Strategic Services and 'Wild Bill' Donovan, hence the O.S.S. D'Novan.)

Klingon KDF Eng - I.K.S. K'mtar, Vor'cha Battlecrusier Retrofit (originally the I.K.S. Maruader, when Legacy of Romulus came out and I used this character to test some of the new Klingon storyline missions I renamed it after a fallen comrade.)

Reman KDF-Rom End - I.K.S. Iscah, Mogai Heavy Escort (personal reasons)
Andorian Fed Eng - U.S.S. Yeager, Intrepid-Class Long Range Science Vessel (because they won't give me an acutal Yeager-type!)

Current ship: USS Andraste - Fleet Avenger-class Battlecruiser. Named for an Icenic war goddess, though more people will probably recognize it as the messiah figure of Dragon Age.
Current small craft: USS Glyrhond - Yellowstone Runabout. Named for a river on Bajor, because Starfleet names runabouts after rivers, and my captain is Bajoran so why not a ship name from somewhere other than Earth?
Star Cruiser: USS Relentless, because I like the sound of the word.

I've started to just hit the random name button until I get something I haven't seen a hundred times since I'll level past it or delete and roll a new toon when tagging Epohhs gets dull
Names after the Syrinx in the TNG novel The Romulan Prize.
My Romulan literary character, Ael t'Kazanak, is named for the designer of the Syrinx. In my headverse, she's a member of the same house, possibly a niece or a somewhat removed cousin
DNT comes from the tag of a PvP guild I inherited and ran for a year at the end of SWG. -DNT- Dreadnaught. As a PvPer in this game, it is just a homage to my old guildmates, and something that they might recognize if I ever come across them in this one. As yet I havent.

Also note that my characters last name Dionysis is an accepted alternate spelling of the Greek god Dionysus/Bacchus
The X simply comes from its registry NCC 93107-X, with the X indicating that it is its final revision (build). Of course builds change over time, but I dont put the X on a ship until it is the Fleet variant or has fleet gear on it (in the case of a C-Store ship like the Scimitar)

When I got my Fleet Avenger, it came with a default name of Vera. When I saw the name I heard Jayne Cobb's voice in my head saying, "I call it Vera."
"I'm not big on telepaths myself. I'm not big on guns either. But if everyone else has them, I want to make sure I can get my hands on the biggest one I can."
My main ship is an odyssey and is captained by an engineering toon. Based on that I named it the USS Armstrong after one of the most famous engineers in history.
I think I've added a few since I posted that, certainly three Obelisk Carriers, at least, and a D'Kyr and a Tal'Kyr. Probably one or two others.

Lets see...
Not gonna name them all but... Fed:
-Tac:
USS Lexington NCC-91709-A : Assault Cruiser refit. Always was attracted to the name Lexington. And other than the first 9, the registry number is that of the Connie version from the TOS era.
-Engie:
USS Caliburn : Advanced Escort. Naming a ship after a sword.
Freezer Burn : Breen Chel'Gret. She's got Plasma weapons. ^^
-Sci:
USS Avalon : Vesta. Seemed fitting. And technically she's the Avalon-A, as the previous Avalon was a Luna class. Romulan:
RRW Farore : Fleet Mogai Retro. (Formerly named RRW Mogwai) Fits considering my Romulan is named Saria.
RRW Deku Scrub : T'liss. Yes... I still have my little T1 ship on her.
Farore's Courage : Obilisk Carrier. Sounded good for a Carrier.
Wolfos : Risian Corvette. Speedy little thing. KDF:
IKS Thrak'hath : Kamarag Retrofit. Named after the Kilrathi Crown Prince in Wing Commander.
AKS Zuljin : Mirror Raptor. Named after a famous Troll hero.
AKS Sivar : Mirror Vo'Quv Carrier. Named after the Kilrathi God of War.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!
The nut who actually ground out many packs. The resident forum voice of reason (I HAZ FORUM REP! YAY!)
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite colored text = mod mode
My what, 3rd ship on the rom side is the R.R.W Anti Virus mainly cause i dunno
My lvl 50 on the fed side first character for STO. is the U.S.S Amadeus Wolfgang which is named after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart cause i like classic music.
my Runabout is named Giant Killer cause its a quick itty bitty yellow poka dot well ship killer. if they can't aim that is.
have another ship called the U.S.S Dresden Codex after the Book series Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.. < good read btw.
Named a few after friends and family Like my other ship the Master Sofia named after sofia.
My next ship will be named turtle cause well it's going to be a slow f'er.
then the rest i never bothered to change i'll think about it.
if you wanna chat me up or invite me to a lazy/causal fleet its Nira@dabful when i'm on Rom. or Nabolite@dabful <.< gah hope thats right
Now that you've inadvertently reminded me of it, I think I want to get a Type 8 shuttle and name it "Dresden Codak", because the pattern on the aft door looks just like the symbol of Dark Science...

Named my first escort ship Vigilant because I thought it sounded cool, kept the name and registration through each rank of escort ship.

Speaks for itself, Roosevelt was a pretty hard man, makes sense for a tactical cruiser.

USS Lexington NCC-91709-A : Assault Cruiser refit. Always was attracted to the name Lexington. And other than the first 9, the registry number is that of the Connie version from the TOS era.

IKS Thrak'hath : Kamarag Retrofit. Named after the Kilrathi Crown Prince in Wing Commander.
AKS Zuljin : Mirror Raptor. Named after a famous Troll hero.
