I like the overall shape... just not the details. It's a powerfully ugly ship from certain angles.
I've got Zen and FSMs ready to go, though. This will go well with the new tac captain I just hit 50 on. Tac/Cruiser is just about the only combo I haven't used extensively.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
For those of us who dont always use Fed toons, isn't it time to make the consoles account wide claims in the store? At least this way people are less likely to worry about one side or another getting new toys and leaving everybody else in the lurch.
Yeah. You can get the C-Store T5 version. It comes with less Hull, less Shield Mod, and 1 less Science Console - but you get the special Torpedo.

That sensibility influenced the visual aesthetic of the Avenger. This is a gunship. Taking the 2409 Federation design of traditionally elegant sweeping lines and pushing it toward a more combative style was one of our biggest challenges. The Avenger needed to look aggressive, but still like a Starfleet vessel.
I'm afraid those 'traditionally elegant sweeping lines' have been lost in the process. The only vaguely elegant features are the nacelle pylons and maybe some lines on the saucer. And those marry very badly with the remaining blocky design.
But, because this is still a Starfleet vessel, we couldn?t go completely combat with it. So we used influences from the Akira (the protected bridge) and the Odyssey (split neck and saucer/hull integration) to make the Avenger look like an iteration of Starfleet design, and not something completely new.
I dread the day you 'go completely combat' with something. A plastic toy with lasers and functional gun placements is all I see here. Even the Defiant looks refined and distinctly Starfleet in comparison.
Sorry for the negativity, maybe you just design something that will sell. But it makes me somewhat sad the ship legacy of the Star Trek shows is lost.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Well, would you look at that bridge officer layout. You couldn't get it any more ideal for a cruiser auxiliary to battery setup. With all of that hull, this ship will make a fine escort slayer. I love the ship's visual appearance as well. Slightly more armored in appearance, but still very Starfleet.
That blocky deflector in particular just makes me cringe, though the whole design just lacks grace (though I admit, kinda like the way the nacelles are done). Honestly I think I'm going to be calling it the Tellarite Cruiser: stumpy and looking for a fight, but still some Starfleet there.
I just really hope they drop the shield modifier to 1.0, since escorts usually have lesser shields than average cruisers, not superior, and given this thing's escort lineage, it would be more thematically appropriate. Otherwise, between that and the BOFF layout almost identical to the Regent, this really does make any other Fed tac-oriented cruiser, and even the KDF's Fleet Tor'kaht, obsolete. Better-in-every-way is always a bad thing.

1.0 is pretty much equal to a fleet escorts and less than lockbox escorts, especially lockbox escorts that have shield mods from 1.05 to 1.3. The elachi battlecruiser has a shield mod of 1.2, the galor has 1.3.
The Fleet excelsior shield mod of 1.1 is just so outdated when compared to all the lockbox ships.

Damn.
Yeah, I am inclined to agree on the shield modifier, but not to 1.0, that would be too far. It should be 1.1 rather than 1.21 in order to be in line with the other Starfleet Cruisers and Klingon Battlecruisers. The Tor'Kaht Battle Crusier still has better turn rate, built in cloaking, 800 more crew, and a ensign engineering slot instead of ensign tactical.

The thing is none of those cruisers, klingon or starfleet, are a match for the more recent releases (lockboxes especially) in terms of shields and shield cap potential. Heck a fleet Mogai has the same shield mod as a fleet regent.
Tellarites probably helped design her. People tend to forget that Starfleet isn't a totally human organization. I use this idea to explain the look of the uniforms and design choices in the Original Series (Starfleet embracing alien culture and aesthetics).
This Avenger class looks like a bulldog. I can't wait to see how she flies. Being able to equip a cloaking device is just crazy!

Well its 1.1 for the base, 1.21 for the fleet (10% more). By comparison, every other Fed cruiser is 1.0 base, 1.1 fleet, except the Odyssey which is fleet level to begin with so 1.15. That means comparing the base Avenger and base Regent, the Avenger has 2 more turn, 10% more shields, roughly the same BOFF layout (though with the universal in a more flexible place), the 5/3 weapons layout, DHCs, and the Fleet version is available a tier sooner. In trade off, the Regent has 1500 more hull, 1 more device slot, and the threat-generation comm setting. So really the only reason one would conceivably pick the Regent over the Avenger is a dedicated tank/healer ship, in which case one would really be in the Odyssey or Ambassador anyways.
Its just frustrating because other niches are available for the Avenger to fill and still be a BATTLE cruiser, but instead they're going to just bench something that already exists. I'd rather see greater variety than more power creep.
will this ship be a cstore or lock box ship or a mission reward?
It's C-Store and Fleet Store.

It really looks to me like a ship that could use at least some of the T1 Cruiser ship parts.
Either excluding the Connie or maybe just restricted to using, say, saucer and nacelles from T1 Cruiser.
Did it say what tier fleet shipyard this needs?
Welp, I guess it's set then... im getting this.
Commanding Officer: Captain Pyotr Ramonovich Amosov
Dedication Plaque: "Nil Intentatum Reliquit"
NO! No .
It will take us like a year to get that far!
I WANT A ZEN SHIP!
I hope STO get's better ...
Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
There is a Zen ship... and also a fleet variant.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
Gonna get both!
No double-neck thing, cut it down like the Sovereign's melded look and make it shorter so it appears sleeker while keeping the boxy look.
That IMO would be better.
Apart from the obvious "Vengeance copy" issues, it has a face only its designer could love :P

It contains parts influenced by an escort, luna, and cruiser.
I might buy this one.

That is one of it's more flattering angles

Wow i have to say, that's pretty over powered actually (from the first look)

I like it.
I will reinstall "Star Trek: Online" when it comes out.
I am going to call it the "U.S.S. Dark Chakram".
*whoot*
cool thank you, because the ship looks ice
