Patch going VERY slow

I logged in tol check on my DOffs before going to work, and the patcher was taking its sweet time patching. It's only 527MB, but going at the pace of a 2 gig update. I was playing last night and everything was fine. I haven't changed anything since then.

It's been half an hour and it's only at 22%. I don't get it.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    You might not be the only one to try and patch it up. Have you tried to stop and restart the patching? It should continue where it stopped.

    NOPE.

    It got stuck at 88% for a few minutes so I closed the launcher and tried again. Now it's stuck at 61%.

    I'm convinced PWE doesn't want me to play.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    Tried again just for the hell of it...

    First it got stuck at 55%.

    Now it's stuck at 59%.

    PWE's piece of **** patcher is essentially NEGATIVE patching.

    It's always something. For once I'd like to JUST LOG IN. I swear they do this on purpose. Ever since Pay2Win went live it's been a struggle just to get into the game.

    And it would appear that I'm the only person who has had this problem. I must be stupid.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    I doubt you're stupid, if it's going that slow I would suggest doing a restart, close every downloader (peer2peer, torrents, etc) and try it again.

    You might want to cook yourself a nice dinner while it's busy :D .

    Same here. Downloading patch at less then 5kb/s on 50 Mb/s link.

    Very slow here too, 100mb connection, downloading at 8kbps

    As has happened so many times before. Today's patch (8/15/2013) has stalled at ~85%. Now I know its not my internet connection. But it might be the number of players trying to download the patch. Which begs the question: Is PWE gambling on the fact that most of us will quit playing soon? Otherwise it seems appropriate that the patch servers might be due for at least a modest upgrade. Which I'm sure PWE/Cryptic can afford.

    Been stuck at 53% for about 20 minutes now. Tried to restart launcher, nothing.

    Glad to see that 100mb connection working out well for me.

    A minute ago my speed jumped significantly and got me all the way to 87.7%... but now it dropped to almost complete halt. I'm getting 1 kb every 15-20 seconds or so.

    So, any news on when the patcher/launcher service is going to be repaired?

    Been stuck at 54% now for 25 minutes. Tried to restart launcher, nothing works..

    Suppose I could go take my money and open some lockboxes in another game.

    It'sd not 'negative patching' - it's always picking up from where it left off previously and then showing the percentage of that patch. That said, if it's stalling at all for a number of people it indicates a patch server issue of some type.

    same 87% and i have recived 101mb going at 0.01 every few seconds

    A connection speedtest shows that the team of hamsters who take care of my internet are fit and healthy. Seeing as I've been stuck on 59% for 10 minutes now must mean that the STO hamster is either dead or should be.

    Same here too.

    My speed went up to around 30 kbps. If it doesn't go down again, maybe I will manage to log in some time next week. :mad:

    Stuck at 87% I suppose I'll worry about claiming stuff after I sleep.

    500% true this is why i hate everytime they go on maintenance you gonna get pissed on waiting for the patch to finish.. TRIBBLE **** :mad:

    on neverwinter on champions online all good except this TRIBBLE star trek

    oh lucky you only stuck on 81% i was 21% and it began to slow so i close restart my pc now stuck at 5% TRIBBLE a-hole

    Joke aside, 87% here. Not too concerned, I don't freak out if the game's down for a few more minutes than normal.

    It seems to be going at .02 MB/s.

    Edit: On average, that is.

    Sometimes it goes at .05, sometimes it goes at .01.
    Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.p3OEBPD6HU3QI.jpg
