Ok, do people actually think that giving away starbase access to buy pets for 72 hours is going to destroy the in-game economy and cause Cryptic to lose millions in revenue?

Besides, the fleet invite is a legit game feature and it's being used as intended. No rules or TOS are being broken (if they are, please cite them), so Cryptic is hands-off.
It looks like the fleet supplies officer is dancing a bit. He should be easy to find as he's dancing with excitement about providing so many elite hangars.
Yeah they are using this event to troll, they cannot help themselves being goons and all. BUT they are not trolling those that get an invite but another fleet altogether. everyone who gets an invite is a tool used in the trolling like fire extinguishers and party poppers. The target of the trolling is fleets that sell access not those that gain access.
Yeah, probably true. And IMHO those fleets deserve it. So I am very happy to help them do it, and get myself some elite hangars in the process.

Interesting point, which I am sure the bean counter will consider as well in their deliberations. Someone once estimated the cost of building a Starbase from scratch to T5 is comparable to a house. The question then becomes is the dilithium conversion coming from existing money (2nd hand zen) or new new money (new zen)? The second hand zen is of no value to Cryptic, just as a used car doesn't incur sales tax to the government. Each elite hangar costs 45K dil. whereas to get a Starbase to T5 will cost astronomically more per person in each fleet. Without getting into a lot of complicate math, my opinion is that that there wont' be a lot of new money and the loss in revenue will be far greater on many level such as player on time, in-game spending and etc.
If you are assuming people are willing to spend a lot of real money to advance their starbase they won't need this event anyway. Because they have a big starbase themselves. Besides there might be playere who even quit the game because t5 seems so unreachable or who would not spend money only to get a better starbase but are willing to pay for items. In the end you are only speculating without proof and to truly asses the situation one would need an extensive study of the playerbase.
But the point is all that does not matter. It's even a great pr for cryptic because it helps small fleets and they do not have to do anything. Happy players is a very good thing if you want to keep them. I honestly do not understand what you want in this thread. Are you loosing money because of this? Do you simply want to destroy the fun of other players? Well anyway.

This thread and event stands as proof that the eRPists have been lying to you about Nerds of Prey and Starfleet Dental. You need to ask yourselves, "what else have they lied about?"

We want you to be happy and enjoy these fantastic new hangar items. What do they want for you? We ask nothing of you. They demand obedience to their view on how you will be allowed to allocate your resources and energy. Think on that.
People having selling or giving access to thier fleet stores to non members for ages now, if this was going to be an unbalancing problem Cryptic would have blocked either starbase invites or fleet store access for guests like they did with fleet ships. Think on that for a minute.
Secondly people that are members of small fleets don't join them for hangar pet access, they do so for RP reasons, or to hang with friends. Otherwise they'd hunt down on join bigger fleets.
Also your forgetting about future fleet goodies, like goodies from the dilithium mine, the next fleet holding and the military fleet holding, the next reputation and so on. Remember they were expecting fleets to reach access to hangar pets now or even earilier so they're prepared for it and they've added a new fleet holding accordingly,the dilithium mines with its elite enigeering consoles and elite warpcores, miner doffs, discounts and so on.
There will always be other goodies to spend resources or money on.

I was seriously considering deleting my KDF toons because when I talked to one of these OTHER guys offering to sell me Elite hangers, when he said 20m, I was furious as on Fed side its 10m, and most tier 5 fleet openly recruit on Fed side.
The KDF has been sitting at the kids table for some time, Cryptic treats KDF players as red headed step children and now even the other KDF players are treating KDF players this way by charging twice the going rate for Elite hangers.
Maybe if most of the large KDF fleets didnt treat the player base like TRIBBLE and trying to extort money from them, more people would play KDF, and thus forcing Cryptic to put more resources into the KDF faction.
Abusing the player base with price gouging only hurts the faction more. Stop being greedy, allow the KDF to grow. It doesn't help you guys if you have millions of creds and nobody plays the game anymore.

It believe it is stated on the tool tip when you go to purchase them, like you have the list of elite pets you can buy and you hover the cursor over the Elite Slavers and the tool tip that pops up mentions the photon torpedoes.
What ever happens in the privacy of ones own ship I don't need to know, or care.
But it good to know I'm not the only one who enjoys the occasional disco music.
We are more opposed to the deplorable sexual acts between potentially-infectious aliens in public places and the health and safety questions such behaviour raises, hence why we fumigate loose-moraled Orion females tabledancing for EC on Drozana. We're doing it for the general welfare of the community as a whole!
First let me say - I am very happy Starfleet dental is doing this because there are many KDF players out there who don't have the EC to pay for access.
I am excited for all those who have gotten access and I sincerely hope that Dental does this again next weekend because there are many who will take time to get the fleet credits.
That aside this is a total troll attack on HOBO - Dental and Hobo are known enemies and both engage in in-game tactics against each other such as:
Silencing of the leaders - casuing chat bans
placing people in each others fleets to spy
Engaging in nefarious tactics in PvP
Etc etc etc
Those are the facts - what would be good if dear leader was honest enough to step up and admit to this.
Aside from that I have zero problem in supporting/applauding their offer simply because it helps the KDF community which has a difficult enough time in the starbase race. But people should know that it has little to do with that and more to do with the ongoing rivalry with HOBO.
My respect for Dental is low - but would be improved significantly if they would admit this offers true purpose - but that players should not care as it is a good opportunity to get items which they would find much harder to do.
Again - seriously consider running this next weekend as well and when you get T5 engineering.
(note I am not singling out Dental as the solo "bad guys" in this rivalry with Hobo - just that both fleets ingage in it)
Just a quick heads up (although I may have been the last to know this) but it seems that you need to have all 3 Scimitar in your list of available ships if you want to buy the Elite Hanger Drone Ship at least this was the deal with my KDF allied Romulan.
