First let me say - I am very happy Starfleet dental is doing this because there are many KDF players out there who don't have the EC to pay for access.
I am excited for all those who have gotten access and I sincerely hope that Dental does this again next weekend because there are many who will take time to get the fleet credits.
That aside this is a total troll attack on HOBO - Dental and Hobo are known enemies and both engage in in-game tactics against each other such as:
Silencing of the leaders - casuing chat bans
placing people in each others fleets to spy
Engaging in nefarious tactics in PvP
Etc etc etc
Those are the facts - what would be good if dear leader was honest enough to step up and admit to this.
Aside from that I have zero problem in supporting/applauding their offer simply because it helps the KDF community which has a difficult enough time in the starbase race. But people should know that it has little to do with that and more to do with the ongoing rivalry with HOBO.
My respect for Dental is low - but would be improved significantly if they would admit this offers true purpose - but that players should not care as it is a good opportunity to get items which they would find much harder to do.
Again - seriously consider running this next weekend as well and when you get T5 engineering.
(note I am not singling out Dental as the solo "bad guys" in this rivalry with Hobo - just that both fleets ingage in it)
Just a quick heads up (although I may have been the last to know this) but it seems that you need to have all 3 Scimitar in your list of available ships if you want to buy the Elite Hanger Drone Ship at least this was the deal with my KDF allied Romulan.

To those of you who took advantage of our generous offer today, I ask you this: Why are certain people so very mad that we have helped you? Do these people who want to bend you over a barrel- and, given their eRPist leanings and how they brag about the nude mods they use, in a more than figurative sense- have your best interests in mind? Do these people, who have been organizing pogroms in their "private" channel to silence the noble sons of Dear Leader and prevent us from making you aware of this opportunity really deserve any respect whatsoever? They told you that we didn't have a KDF fleet. They lied. They told you we didn't have the money to afford this. They lied again. What else have they lied to you about?

We've had triple digits of players through the starbase and the I imagine an even larger amount of hangars sold. At peak it was a struggle to deal with the invites but a lot of people are sorted out now or currently getting the currencies they need.
This is officially going to extend well beyond the 72 hours. It makes us happy to make you happy.
We are delighted that you are all enjoying your new hangar pets. At Starfleet Dental we take the ethos of Star Trek very seriously and hope that you agree that this comes close to living the utopian post-scarcity dream Roddenberry envisaged decades ago. Long may the positivity continue.

Starfleet Dental and its sister fleet Nerds of Prey in celebration of House of Beautiful Orions fully upgrading their starbase to Tier V just after Shutup Wesley, we are offering free access to fleet hanger pets to all KDF players starting Friday July 12th for 72 hours. You will need to provide your own fleet credits, dilithium, and fleet provisions.
Edit: The glorious AcidCouch, leader of Nerds of Prey, has proclaimed this offer be open indefinitely. Rejoice!
Fleet pets are 100,000 fleet credits and 45,000 dilithium each.
Contact any Nerds of Prey fleet member for a starbase invite. If they say no move on to another member. Please do not pester NoP fleet members for an invite.

You should just make it a "ongoing" open policy - rather than a timed thing.
I know it's a lot of work dealing with all the extra people hounding you - but it would set an interesting precedent regarding starbase gated content.

For those who need or want the hangar pets and elite fleet goodies (minus the weapons) This is an excellent opportunity to get them.
For those who want to complain, no one is forcing you to participate.
You don't have to like them to take advantage of this opportunity. The why they are doing this is not all that important (at least to many of us). This event/open house benefits everyone who chooses to take advantage of it.
You can get the hangar pets you need without forking over millions in EC. They get nothing in return other than a chance to show off their starbase.
KDF has always been the better faction. It just needs some encouragement for people to realise its potential.

To anyone who's whining about this being nothing more than an attempt to troll HOBO (which is pretty cynical in itself - can't people just give for the sake of giving anymore?) I say this - there are many, many more heinous ways to troll than comitting an act of blanket generosity that benefits hundreds of people.
Hell, maybe it'll even start some kind of precedent where the Star Trek universe isn't all about making as much money as possible - a difficult concept to grasp I know.
NoP should get some kind of Internet Spaceship Medal for this.
