People clamoring about losing money...MONEY...as if this is a breach of contract with subscribers...
Let's all take a nice deep breath of objectivity. It was an event. It didn't work due to a fault of some sort (wouldn't be the first time, either!). You are still able to play STO. They may redo it at a later date.
Have some tea. Calm down. And let's see how this gets resolved.

Well, i have played lot of mmo games, but this is first time when game company is cleary telling to players bull**** about event. This event dont work, they dont even try to fix it and all they do is to feed us players more bull**** to eat. What a pile of liars.

I don't know about other people, but I didn't get any extra marks. I needed 21 omega marks to complete a project, did the Cure Found on Normal difficulty and only got 19 marks: 15 as the standard reward, 4 for completing the optional. So where are those extra marks?
Great, now I can fly all the way to Defera for those two marks i should've gotten. Just a hint: if you're announcing an event that rewards extra marks, it would be nice if the event actually awarded extra marks. Something that shouldn't have to be explained, but apparantly common sense isn't that common in STO.
Been doing Fed. fleet alerts all weekend. I've been getting 47 marks each time. I get 52 during the 3 hour event and 47 when the event ends. = broke. You'd think they'd have a guy at Crypic who could simply run 1 of these fleet alerts and see that it's broke. At least take it off of the front page of the website...Apparently, there's nobody at the office this weekend...

We know that things don't always work in MMO land, but to be in denial, and acting as if everything is working as intended is quite aggravating for those in whom you have created expectation.

Yea... I noticed that too... it seemed to work for some events until the first normal 3 hour bonus event... then got switched off and that was it. After that, I never got the bonuses and seemed to get even less than normal moving forward.

What part of "not everyone" did you not understand. No, it is not your God-given right to whine. You can make the mods aware of the situation without whining about it. Grow the frak up already.
As consumers, we have the responsibility to bring to the attention of management anything we see that is wrong. That does not mean we need to whine about it. There's a right and a wrong way to do this. So when I say quit your whining, I'm not saying don't inform the devs, I'm saying quit acting like Cryptic owes you anything....They don't.

But seriously, this is one giant utter fail from Cryptic's part. Not because the event is not working, but because Cryptic didn't even acknowledge the problem and left the event and the news visible and prominent like nothing happened.
Isn't this what you call a false advertising...? Because basically that's what it is - "hey, look, we're running an event, come play during the weekend and you'll get some bonus marks!". I guarantee you most people and casual players won't even notice something's amiss. They'll come and play the game thinking they get bonus stuff, while in reality they don't get a thing.
I've played numerous different missions during the weekend and aside from the regular in-game 3 hour event I've got no bonus marks from any mission I've did. The only bonus came from some STFs, but it's the same thing like bonus BNPs you've got a chance to get, so it's not connected to the event at all. And no, it's no display error as well - I kept double checking the amount of marks I had before a mission, how many I should have gotten, and how many I did end up with. No bonus marks at all, neither from PvE Queues, nor dailes.
Disappointed is a mild way to put it. Because I can forgive Cryptic for all the bugs they eventually try to get fixed or other stuff they keep messing up. I can't however ignore the fact that they basically didn't even bother to cancel the event or acknowledge their error.
The thing they should do now is to fix this bug asap and then extend the event for the whole week. But I'll be surprised if they'll do so... Makes me wonder if they'll fix the Cold Storage lobi crystal before the FE re-run is over, which is another one of their flop.

Yeah that "You are getting it, it's just not showing on the rewards" was the biggest load of guff I've ever seen. The three hour bonus event always displays the bonus marks along with your other rewards in the total. They were just scrambling at nonsense to try and stop us from noticing that the entire weekend event has been a disastrous waste of time.

I'm actually quite ticked off with this event. Honestly if it was just a bugged event that didn't give us the promised all the time bonus it would be fine, "Oh well a botched event... no big deal". That sadly, is not the issue here; in my case what has happened is instead of receiving an all the time bonus to marks earned I receive no bonus whatsoever even during the 'actual' scheduled daily bonus events(where I should for sure receive a bonus). So basically I'm getting less marks than I normally would get outside of this event. This is unacceptable cryptic. I filed several bug reports. NO response(not really surprised).
You guys really need to get on top of these things. Not only did you TRIBBLE the event up you screwed up the normal events for some people(I'm not the only one with this issue - a few people in my interfleet channels are having the same issue). Enough is enough is enough. Please turn the event off, fix the issue asap(like monday for instance). I mean you've made earning rep for 3 separate trees bad enough... now this.
It's not so much the fact the event is borked that's irksome, that's par for the course really. It's more that Cryptic are, once again, outright lying to our faces about it, and leaving up the promotion for it as if it were working perfectly.

That, most certainly, is worth grousing about. When something's obviously not working it's kinda time to stop advertising as if it were, because folks coming into the game expecting to get their grind on won't be able to. It's misleading and the very definition of false advertising. But that's about all it is.

So now you don't even get bonus marks during the event times. Vault:Ensnared, completed 10 mins ago during bonus hour., Saved 10, 20% vault completion, killed flagship. 24 marks....... WFT is that TRIBBLE?

Sadly i am, not one individual specifically, but the company as a whole. I've been playing Cryptic games since Champions Beta, and in that almost 4 year span, there have been a lot of things that i call lies, false advertisements, false truths, purposeful misdirection, and of course things that they just don't tell us but should. These are practices that are still happening to this day, and Cryptic would rather just cover it up and work on the next new thing rather than go back and fix things or improve them unless they have too.
It's a terrible way to do business and it's slowly catching up with them.
And while you're right that we should all be more constructive in the criticisms and less demeaning or rude, sadly that won't fix things either. it's just as useless until there is enough of an outcry that they can't just hide it under the rug. A lot of people are just legitimately angry at the current state of the game and sadly even more are expressing it poorly.
Truth be told though, Cryptic as a company should be held responsible for the state of the game as well as communicating honestly what works, what doesn't, and what's being fixed currently, at least more so than they're doing with a few of the patch notes here and there.
