  My guess is they probably hot fixed the problem on Monday. I was actually getting que'd for a seond, which I imagine was something they did to lighten the load.
  
  Now their worried about the sheer volume of players that will be trying to log on this weekend and they need a hard fix.

  I don't mind them updating the game thats just common sense, plus i have got other things to do. It is just a game afterall.
  
  However what i don't get is why dont they just have a a secondary log in, like on their webpage.
  
  I think they just want STO to themselves :P

  Interesting... It appears they changed the route tables so that instead of using the Cogent Communication backbone, they've switched to the savvis.net backbone. But it appears that the gateway from savvis.net to local Perfect World network is lacking functionality...

  If they don't fix it, a large portion of people won't be able to get to the event anyway due to launcher issues. Better they attempt to fix it now, rather than later on when the servers will be packed. Would you rather have downtime then? If that were to happen, the hue and cry would be even more tremendous than it is already.

  I am getting stuck at Trying to update launcher. My trick that always works isnt now, this is bad

  Looks like they changed peering points and the BGP to whatever they use internally (likely EIGRP) is not configured right.

  Have tried several times to connect with cryptic launcher saying trying to update. then i get the following.
  
  Unable to establish connection to Patch Server. Please check your internet connection. If problem persist, please contact Technical Support.
  
  Just got past launcher then it bombed out and braught up a blank webpage telling me to check my connection, which is perfectly ok.
