    The DNS bug from last night is back...

    www.startrekonline.com doesn't work but sto.perfectworld.com does.

    Launcher loads but won't get past the patch button.

    Pinging launcher.startrekonline.com results in 100% packet loss.

    Pinging startrekonline.com results in 75% packet loss.

    Tracert times out after 14 hops at 38.111.40.114, 13th hop is cogentco at 66.28.4.42

    Problem had gone away when I logged in at 1630 Hrs GMT and logged out 1800 hrs GMT.

    Just went to log in now and.................................... its not working

    C'mon, this is getting silly. Couldn't play at all yesterday... was able to log in today, played briefly, got booted, now the same auto launcher problem. What's going on?

    Manage to get on for less than an hour, a foundry mission hanged so had to quit out, went to log back in and bam total BS again, why do I pay gold for this.

    For us gold users who haven't been able to access the game reliably for two days what are the devs going to offer us in compensation? If nothing why are we paying for this game.....

    New player here, and so far have not been able to play since before yesterday. Unable to Connect to Patch server after 2 attempts. Toronto, Canada here. About to give up and move on.

    can you warn us before hand please? i was affected yesterday now ingame was playing server not responded all of a sudden then ok then trying to patch files as i move to a map/mission dont done before then continuos patching come here and see same time started messing up running tests i know this will help fix things but an ingame warning or something?

    my game stuffed up yesterday I sent the files thay asked for and 10 mins later fixed but its hapend again I was joining cure when it wouldn't connects me server problems then I signed out and tried to sign back in and my launcher just goes wight please hurry the hell up sort your TRIBBLE out pleaseor im going to another mmo that is ****ed up every day

    Hi all,

    Yep it has taken another it started to happen to me yesterday, Con not connect to patch server, After contacting PW I had an email saying,

    We are sorry you cant register please try the following?????? Like WTF I dont need to Reg I need to beable to launch the frigging game,

    Anyways I did what was said to do on here unplugged my Rooter over night and it worked, until this evening, when,,, Same problem started. I hope im not going to have to unplug the rooter everynight to just play this game.

    I got the frozen launcher.... right click STO exe and run in compatibility mode for XP (im running Windows 7) and it started right up. Bad thing is I no longer have sound. :confused:

    If you can get the launcher to load disable on demand patching. Will save headaches.

    So I just got this game yesterday and was able to login once to create my avatar......that's it. Back to that autoupdate error over and over. How long has this been out and they still can't fix this? I am pretty blown away at this. :mad:

    I understand the benefit to on demand patching. As a person that came back after a long hiatus being able to DL the game and play in under 15 mins was awesome. However being 5GB short of a full game because of on demand patching after a month of playing is kind of counter productive.

    If you do have a lot of players without fully patched games (judging by this thread there is) i would suggest flagging game clients that aren't complete and asking @ exit of game if the player would like to keep the patches running. This keep the seamless log in you guys are looking for and maintains reliability to your player base when your routing providers do have technical issues. It won't be 100% fix but it would help with the real rage of trying to log in for an hr then when in game you get server DC'd in your first mission load and start the whole cycle again.

    The root of the problem is not STO/Cryptics fault but the additional rage of its player base probably is ;-P

    Nope, I'm in UK and Autopatcher is down again.

    I could connect and even played for a while, logged off to get some food, tried to log on and... down again.

    Zoning between ground combat and space just got the map loading timeout and when relogged had the patcher connection error again :(

    Bran, isn't it possible to conduct these tests on something other than the game server? I.e. the thing that everyone is trying to use.

    Got DC'd now I can't log in. Assorted DNS errors, traces stop at the same place they did yesterday.

    How long are these "tests" expected to last?
