I do not own the XII set (got the data windows from a fleet member) and I am not sure if I should get 200 Lobi for it, espcially because the 2 set bonus was increased from 8.1 to 8.8 % Polaron dmg...
The shield boost is nice, but I hope there are some better changes coming soon
There's a lot of Dev info on the Space set, but they are utterly SILENT on the Ground set. Any dev...could you please pipe in about those, because the upgrades to that set are also anemic and not worth the cash...
Any updates or confirmation of any chances to this come tomorrow?
The exact mods promised for the 2 and 3 peice set bonus are on the Tribble Release Notes. They are standing behind their words on this part and it will be coming to Holodeck soon enough.
They didn't confirm if this is going to be on this week's update or not. As long as I know it hit Tribble, I am pleased with that.
Stupid question I know, but if I were to upgrade my space or ground set today, and they came out with the reivisions tomorrow or even say next week, mine would change with said revisions right, and not stay with the stats of today?

When the dev's make a change like this, it will change every item with that name in the game. So, if you purchased it today and it changed tomrrow, it would chage tomorrow as well.
Note this doesn't always work on things that are deleted from the game. For instance, I still have a MK X requisition for Omega gear from the privious system, even though the repuation system in game now doesn't use them.
I noticed this morning that the shield cap has been raised. I'm still losing cap to the gear combo I'm currently using, but I'll give it a try. I really do want to use this set with my bug. And even if I decide not to use it, I can at least now honestly say that the devs listen to the players.
I love the mini-gun but regret buying the ground armour set to be honest. I don't see the point of upgrading the MkXI to XII if you can just grind maco/omega/honr guard.
I wasn't expecting STF level but something a little more useful in ground games would have been better value for money.
I used to love the ground set, but if all you do is STF, then it's not really going to be any better than the Adapted Maco is it?
the Jem armor is almost equal to fleet gear. It is MK11 Energy Dampening armor with [RegHP]*3 and [RegSH]. The other two parts of the set are less awesome though. Although the new upgraded MK12 shield has a resist to all energy damage instead of 20% to Disruptor and Plasma.
Hmm I really like the Jem ground set but still, at 150 lobi it's just much too expensive. 75 lobi is the proper pricing for this, and 100 for the space set (with further improved stats).
Obviously I won't be wasting my precious lobi on any of these two items. Devs need to learn how to price things appropriately. 200 lobi is 1/4th of a Jem'Hadar Dreadnought. Why the hell would I set myself back 200 lobi for a set that is inferior to the one I'm currently using? The dev's need to ask themselves this question.
I strongly recommend NO ONE else buy these sets, to send a strong message that we won't be gouged anymore.

Oh. Damn. too late. Though I have to admit that the lockbox that gave me somewhere close to fifty lobi did put me over the top for the space set. Sorry.
I do find it amusing that you suggest to people not to buy the sets when you won't even use them yourself because they are inferior to what you use currently. just because it's not your cuppa, doesn't mean it's not someone elses. buying things like this and other items in the stores helps to keep this game afloat so you can keep flying around with your superior equipment.
Bort posted a few days ago that the price reduction statement was wrong on his part. No price cut coming.
Don't shoot the messenger, please.
"Wrong" lol. Well thanks for the info. I won't rage about it but... 150 would have been appropriate.
Very likely that it is what they were planning to do but realized there was no good mechanism to refund 50 lobi to those who already bought it so they just said meh... leave the price like it is after all.

Pretty much, now the whole thing has been swept underneath the carpet.
Firstly, I have followed this thread with interest and read all the pros and cons about the set and know that the opinions whichever way will be divided.
I really like the Jem'Hadar items in the game and try to keep them as close to the series as intended i.e using only Jem'Hadar items etc. You never saw the Jem'Hadar using phasers in the series. Call me old fashion but hey I enoy it. I use and like the Jem'Hadar Space Set MK XII on my bugship. I also have the Jem'Hadar dreadnaught and Carrier for the Jem'Hadar consoles. The set in its current form works pretty well IMP in PVE and less than OK in PVP as it depends on who is the opposition being a PUG group or premade. I have noticed that I can survive longer with the Adapted MACO Space Set MK XII which lends to the option of superiority.
What I dont understand is PWEs direction that (Quote Borticuscryptic) "intend for STF/Omega and Starbase/Embassy gear to be superior in scope to items that can be obtained from Missions and/or Lobi Store." It seems to be a marketing flaw to have something that is required to be purchased (Lobi in Lockboxes opened buy purchased keys) opposed to something that is free other than the constant grind for marks etc. to be superior. Surely they realise that anyone who pays for something wants it to be better than free items and IMO it should be.
Given the fact undisputed fact I paid 200 Lobi for the Jem'Hadar Space Set MK XII, 800 Lobi for the Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught and the Carrier I brought for EC and I was unwilling to spend more money on Keys than I had after obtain enough Lobi for the Dreadnaught and Mk XII set. So I have contributed to PWE revenue (and happy to do so as I really want the set for my bug) for inferior items to Free items. It seems to be about face and if PWE want the revenue it would make the set superior in the game, why not? We are paying to be superior. The same reasoning about the inferior items is the dreadnaught vs Fleet ships. The paid product is inferior to the free product. I think PWE marketing need to rethink their strategy. May PWE could explain he reasoning why the paid for items in the game is inferior to the freely obtain items and different to the concept with Fleet Ships?
This is a different philosophy that PWE has taken for the Fleet ships. To acquire Fleet ships, which are superior to free ships, you need to purchase the pre-ship first plus a module or four modules. i.e you are paying for something, by buying modules ($20-$25) (PWE revenue) for ships that are superior and that?s the way it should be. And this has fewer gripes about paying for superior items except from those who continue to post about pay to win (PTW) but IMO you pay for what you get. If someone wants to pay for something that is the best then good luck to them, everyone has the opportunity to do so.
Imagine the feedback if the Fleet Ships were inferior to free ships. STOers would question the reason for paying for inferior items like the Jem'Hadar Space Set MK XII.
As for the ?Victory is Life? component of the Jem'Hadar Space Set MK XII all indicates I see is that it does not work. Another flaw with the space set and nothing in borticuscryptic advised updates. I tested this extensively using CRF only with in different times using Dual cannons and Dual Heavy Cannons only with no attack buffs to allow more shots to be fired on the target. on an opponent defensively buffing and nothing was striped. I wonder if anything is happening with Victory is Life if there's no immunity applied and there's no icon to suggest that something was removed. We could not tell after an hour of testing with over a plethora of cannon fire. The enhancement states ?1% chance to strip one buff while using polaron weaponry? So if I shoot 100 shots then 1 in every 100 has a chance to proc. But what is the 1% chance against? Shots/DPS/Time? Without know the value you cant determine your chance. 1% is really low but a 1% chance is rather extreme. They say you have a 1% chance to win the lottery which really means that for 99.99% of the population will never win it. That why ?Victory is Life? never procs for 99.99% of STOers.
Maybe PWE could explain how it exactly works and what the 1% chance is against.
I think paid for items should be as good as if only a slight bit better than grinded items. It saves you time in getting them but doesn't make it a pay to win game. It just means you get the best stuff faster and maybe some weird and wonderful combos.
Am I missing something or has the cost of the space set upgrade reverted to, or never been changed from, 200 lobi?

I've ended up using the Jem engine and deflector for damage/skill boosts, with the Adapted MACO shield. I sorta miss having the AP sweep , but not blowing up constantly is a good tradeoff. I'd miss Victory is Life too, if it had ever worked.
The JH Set is an acquired taste. It would work well on the JH Attack Ship and maybe with some adjustments on the JH Escort Carrier. Like most upgrades from XI to XII the only differences with those Engines is the Full Impulse rating from 105 to 110. I haven't seen the specs on the JH XII Set, but judging from the most of the others sets like the 'KHG', Assim., etc. all the engine specs are the same XI to XII, except for the above item. However, I am sure that there a improvements on the Shield and Deflector of the JH XII.
Pretty much all XI->XIIs and T5-T5.5 upgrades are a ~7% upgrade at an disproportionately high price (including consoles, weapons, and fleet ships).
I think this is a good design. It's a little boost for the people who have run out things to do, and completely optional part of the game for everyone else.
Let me get this this straight....You think someone spending 200 Lobi (RL Money) on a 7% upgrade to their equipment is a good thing. Cause it 'gives them something to do'. As if spending real life money is now content.

On the space set, bump up the crew and kinetic resists by 100% and call it a day. It still feels a bit swishy compared to the borg or maco sets.
On the ground, increase kinetic and cold resists... On both mk xi and xii sets .
