I agree i keep getting asked to download Oracle to my laptop though i already HAVE oracle on my laptop this happens each time i try to launch the launcher.

Im not gonna use tracet or whatever this is cryptics responsibility to fix the issue this is why they get paid its not mine or any other players responsibility.

Maybe im a lil old fashioned but i beleive if you break it you fix it not blame others for what you did and expect them to fix it for you.

This is what I keep seeing...

I cannot for the life of me get the launcher/game to launch after numerous attempts. I then tried to access SUPPORT via the SUPPORT link at the top of the STO website, with it being unable to open, and yes, cookies are enabled. Checked my moden, router, no problems, rebooted PC, and was able to load many different websites on lots of tabs, but still no STO. Something needs to be fixed. :(:(:(

i see the launcher but its says loading please wait with a white screen so what now

I'm having the same issue. I'm getting the error message:

"Unable to establish connection to Patch Server. Please check your Internet connection if problems persist, please contact Technical Support."

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection as every other program can get online. I would also contact technical support but it appears to be non-existent!

I can definitely add that this problem did start about 1 hr before the server went down.

I think you are reading into things.. They are trying to asses where the problem is so they can resolve the problem. They didn't blame the users for the problem.. And they didn't ask the users to fix the problem.. They just asked to get some info from us so they could see where the connection fails. In my opinion at least. :)

It would be nice if the community manager would at least update us here as too what they think it is, what they are doing about it, and an estimate about how long this is going to take.... The silence from Cryptic is really frustrating.

I do not have time for this, especially with the lack of communication from the STO team.

I only got this problem this morning/before the update, issue was not there yesterday,

I wont bother posting a trace route, it shows the same as everyone else.

Clearly not a problem user side.

    Internet 101:

The internet or world wide web, is made up of many computers all linking together, when connecting to a pc on the other side of the world, or even next door, you do not make a direct connection. The signal gets sent to a server, who sends it to another server and so on, this is called Routing. What Cryptic have asked us to do, is trace that routing, and show them where the problem is. Without this information they cannot diagnose and fix the problem.

Feel free to Say no to posting the info, but the more info the quicker the problem can be diagnosed and therefore resolved.

This is a Cogent network issue, nothing to do with the patch, it's not YOUR connection either, it's that you are sending network traffic, and cogent are dropping it (what would appear to be at one of their routers). Occasionally *Some* data does get through, but 95% it's dropped.

Looks like a DNS/domain registration? Goes thru the UK points but once it hops out of the UK that's where it gets odd.

    Hope that helps.

I don't mean to be rude.. But I find it funny that whenever I look at any MMO tech support forum.. It's always the same thing. Different problems, same reaction.. people seething with rage at how tech support is doing nothing and how they can't believe that there would ever be an error and how dare there be any kind of problem keeping them from playing (either the mmo's fault or not).. Shtuff happens Ladies and Gents.. Look at almost any other MMO forum.. You get about the same amount of response from tech support. They are working hard on our problems. Give them any info they ask.. and remember it is a game.. yes you may pay a monthly subscription to play this game.. but it's a game.. Go do something else for a few hrs and check back.. Or if you have to go to work soon.. just go do something else before work instead of staring at the forums and going to work grumpy.. Again.. hope I'm not offending anyone.. Just an observation. :D Don't worry y'all be happy lol

its a strange one. Simple fix for those with a mobile connection... I created a wifi hotspot on my phone and got the update and launched the game fine, then switched back to dsl and all is dandy.

    Hope it helps.

Not quite, but good idea :)

Switch to Hotspot, Launcher loads, patches, game runs.
Switch to DSL, InGame Login appears, Game continues to run.
Quit game, (still on DSL), Launcher goes back to not running.

Router has been reset. Tracerts are pretty much the same as everyone elses.
(Except one where I was passing through France!)

    Im in the UK.

It might be one of their outbound switches that got fried - and this might not show up in diagnostics easily since it's the last leg within their network.
