Ok so today all i got is one job to do, that is open the file for the jem hadar set, change a value and done, cool only took 2minutes and now complete. Then we can also charge the playerbase lots of money for no work involved, RESULT!
They have to find the problem to asses what to do to fix is - to then give an ETA..
I think it's going to take more than a couple of Donkeys to fix this problem...

Seriously, what's with the finger pointing out of house? Cryptic's software worked fine before they "fixed" things, and now, after a "fix" they want to say that it's an ISP fault? Seems kinda donkeyish to me.
Please don't buy into the "it's not our fault" line. I have empathy for the devs, but no respect for shirking responsibility.

DOH broke the whole server
It's a network issue, not a patch problem. It's been the same BEFORE the update was to be applied.
It is 12:42pm here and I have been waiting all morning to play and still the launcher doesnt work and the game has sent 2 Cryptic Crash Errors, what is taking so long ?

Well, I say 'just' I hadn't actually checked in about half an hour, so it may have switched a while ago. Still not actually loading the game though.
This is me too, I'm in Florida. ran the traces and kept getting the same "time out" everyone else is getting, but now that the launcher comes the the white "loading" screen, it then tries to open IE as well to some page I don't know and it can't load. It's bad enough this is THE only MMO I play that's full on almost constant lag (even GW 2 and SWToR don't lag me unless 300 people are in the same area at the same time) and that whatever issue STO has CO seems to have too (so I can't play that one either if STO is bugging) but now to have a small simple patch break the launcher so I can't get in. Wish I could hear the explanation for this one.

Said NO to Arc. Gets punished by not being given a free outfit, free lobi, and free shuttle. Now forced to use Arc's site when trying to get to STO site. Still not rewards for beta testing the Arc website by force. Bravo Cryptic.
1) I've played a lot of MMO's. Usually, companies say that a server will be down for 2 hours, and it's down for 4. Cryptic usually tells us it will be down for 2, and it's back up a good 30 minutes early. I like to complain about game companies as much as the next guy, but on this matter we really don't have much to complain about. I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon.
2) Apparently, we complain when they see something that needs fixing, and fix it. We apparently also complain when something needs to be fixed, but don't fix it fast enough. They seem to be condemned if they do, condemned if they don't.
3) This hardly seems like feedback. The techincal support forums are elsewhere.
I actually have Java ripped out of my gaming rig altogether. After the last couple of weeks, the security risks with Java are just too high, and I don't go anywhere that needs Java on this rig.
Try uninstalling Java altogether. Won't fix the STO issues but that Java patcher problem should go away. If you really need Java, reinstall it from scratch.
Loading.Please Wait. is all I'm getting. Out of all the bugs for a game to have, not being able to start the game is about as bad as it gets. And this isn't the first time the launcher has had issues. If Cryptic put 10% of the effort into the launcher that they do lock boxes, this game would run pretty smoothly.

Before this whole mess went down, my service provider had no problem with connecting to "STO". Now the game launcher doesn't even load.
If this many people are having issues, the only logical explanation would be on Cryptic's end.
funnily enough i'm in the UK too way down in the south west and i have been getting the launcher problem before maintainence and after its getting right up my nose now, first i get my name changed without even so much as a mail as to why and now the launcher is buggered fix it up boys and let us play again please

New java updates roll out all the time. Especially when they are trying to fix a nasty little bug in it.
The STO launcher pulls from IE components I forget the details but its basically using a webpage. So no surprise there.

I've had this problem for more than an hour BEFORE the server went down for maintenance & patching.
This is not a patch issue, its a routing problem due to one of their carriers.(after atlas.cogentco.com)
So for a change, they haven't broken anything...yet...
This problem is affecting many players.
Can't say I was planning on a two week break.

Oh man do I have a SWTOR horror story. The Cartel Coin(SWTOR's version of Zen) system was for a time broken.
