    it is the same for me... they said maintenance would start at 7am PST, well my game went down about 5am PST.

    I just got kicked out of STO in a Colony Invasion Loading Screen with the maintenance nearly 2 hours away, but i also cant get back into the game.

    There is susposed to be a patch later this morning, but not until 7:00 AM PST. So everything should still be up.

    I was playing earlier then got disconnected and now I can't get in, can't connect to the patch server. Either someone times something wrong or something failed.

    I was going to log in and play a quick stf before bed here at 05:00 PST on 1-28-2013. It is currently 05:41 and i still can't login to play. Hmmm, WHAT do you do with the money you make?

    I think that the servers were taken over by the Borg and they are trying to prevent today's patch for reasons that are yet to be made clear.

    Mine lost connection whilst loading maps. Now has the same problem;

    Unable to establish connection to Patch Server, Check your internet connection.

    Patch server appears down for CO as well. So, probably borked to all.

    I got the same problem here in France. Server not responding more than 3 minutes. I closed the game. and i can't get in anymore. It's 2:53 pm (GMT +1.00) I don't think the shard maintenance already begins. I have no problems with my internet connection and i see Server is up on www.startrekonline.com.

    Some tips to help us ?

    Im in Arizona USA and it is down for me to. It could be a surprise for 3rd year anny, but I doubt it.

    I was having problems as well so I am trying a complete reinstall of the game to see if that helps the issue, but I am not very hopeful that it will. Especially since it looks like I won't be able to get the game reinstalled prior to the actual scheduled maintenance start time.

    Another problem I have encountered that has perturbed me to no end is that I attempted to purchase 25.00 US Dollars worth of Zen using Paypal earlier today (around 3:00 am PST) and for some reason the purchase is showing up fine on both my paypal account and bank account, but it does not seem to be appearing on the Perfect World Entertainment Wallet AT ALL. Thus I have apparently wasted 25.00 USD that has somehow disappeared into the ?ther. I have submitted a ticket about this matter. But I am not hopeful that this will be resolved before the end of the Key's Sale, which is unfortunate for me.

    same problem here.. And after 2 times it says unable to establish connection to patch server please check your internet connection..

    Now my internet connection is fine.. And I tried the technical support but seems the problems still remain..

    Had exactly the same prob....but I think I have a solution called 'Expatshield'

    http://expatshield.com/ - Expatshield is a free VPN (Virtual Private Network) from AnchorFree. Yes, the same guys how made Hotspotshield, but this one assigns a UK IP address. Very nice to have if want to watch BBC TV or stuff from their iPlayer by the way ;) And I always use this when I do online banking and for some Youtube stuff that is not accessable with my 'normal' IP...

    So I've started Expatshield first, load up the launcher and deactivitated/disconnect it when I had the character selection screen up and running. And there we are running the game nicely :)

    Don't forget to disconnect from the VPN...otherwise you might facing a very laggy game performance.

    Hope this works for you like it did for me

    Just was in sto about 2:40pm today and tried to go to SFA and it was hanging on patching 3 files, the speed was 0 all the time and was getting to like 90s of wait time so i just went to desktop and right clicked closed sto on the taskbar.

    Next thing is that i cant open the launcher now and the bookmark i have always used which is http://www.startrekonline.com/ doesnt load the sto site anymore. I had a friend confirm this doesnt work as well for him, both in the uk. But the url http://sto.perfectworld.com that does work ok.

    Very strange day today with sto. Url not working anymore, the launcher broke for me and is stuck with the little box in corner of screen saying trying to connect to patch server and then a few mins later says cant make a connection to patch server. This was happening 15 mins before the server was to be taking down for maintenance today at 3pm. It is still not connecting tho even with maintenance it usually at least still loads and stuff.

    Any ideas, i have told branflakes on twitter about it but i have a feeling he cant help with it.

    Oh my friend in the US said he was fine, but did have trouble connecting with some toons he said.

    Hi Captains,

    The team is investigating, but this does not seem to affect all players and may be regional. To help in the investigation, please run a tracert (instructions for this process here) pointing to launcher.startrekonline.com and copy/ paste your results in this thread if you're comfortable doing so and making sure you star out your local IP address.

    I'm sure the results will continue to vary but yeah I live in the UK and have had this problem since I tried to log in ~midday (12hr before that everything was fine).

    I was able to log in briefly for ~30minutes before the server went down but I can't even get the launcher now to patch.
