The new ship should be the Edo vessel from the Next Generation series, Gomtuu, or the Hushnok ship.. I'd vote for any of those.

Thanks for your patience and understanding
Our patience, yes. Our understanding, not so much. Not with some of the changes being implemented.
Well we know no KDF ships are coming anytime soon.
Heh, ain't that the truth. They're already 50% ship content short of the FED, but hell, lets give the FED players another ship to play with. I can only imagine as we've got the Odyssey (more Engineering) and the Vesta (more Science) the next general ship to come out way will be a Tactical one. Probably be FED-unique too.

I'm truly disappointed in the new dilithium prices for the Doff grinder.

These prices are going to kill my enjoyment of Doffing...
Don't worry, you're not alone. However by enlarging the costs, it'll force more people to put more money into the game so that they can convert it to Dilithium. We're only able to get 8000 refined daily as it is, 5000 for x5 Blue to x1 Purple Doff is ridiculous. Lets say you manage to do that every other day, that's 5000 out of 16000 that you've wasted. This leaves 11000 to put into both fleet and outpost projects, in addition to any spending you might want to do anywhere else. This is assuming you've got the time to grab your 8000 a day. Half the resources for acquiring that are being removed with season 7. It's a cash grab, one that people will be sure to remember.
    argent007 wrote: »
devs need to explain the reasoning behind putting a massive dilithium cost on the Duty Officer Upgrade Assignments.
Anyone with half a brain can work that out. They desire money above all else, people pay money to play (and in some cases (Vesta)) win the game.

It'll be interesting to see how many people leave STO following the release of Season 7.
    linyive wrote: »
So they've exceeded the Doff upgrade costing and reduced the fleet Doff requirements. Okay, sounds fair. Still, why remove a bunch of the dilithium rewards for?

Honestly, it should be simple. If we can only convert 8000 dilithium daily, then there should be 8 simple missions which grant 1000 each. Lets say it takes 30-60 minutes per mission completion (I'd hope 30, cause not everyone has 8 hours a day they can put into this game). It's as simple as that. Give everyone the chance to earn 8000 dilithium per day, lets say within 6 hours? Keeps everyone happy I'd think? It ain't like you can convert anymore than 8000 anyway.

As far as the Doff system goes, I still think the charges are exceedingly stupid. Plus it was 20 hours, but now its 48 hours for the General Recruitment Assignment? What on Earth. I'm also curious (maybe someone can clear this up for me) but what is the difference between normal Doffs and Fleet Doffs?

I read somewhere, on another thread that the reason for this is because of the quick levelling up process. Again, there is a simple solution to that (least, I think it's a simple solution); levels 1 - 20 go without the Doff Assignments, you level up by skill points alone. The Doff System is unlocked at level 21, and with that comes the commendation accolades (diplomacy, development, trade ect). Why not tie the levelling system into these four levels 21 - 50. Reduce the classifications to three levels instead of 4 (thus no diplomacy level 4, the highest you'd get is level 3). Once you've achieved everything for 'level #1' you get promoted to Commander, once you've achieved level #2 you get Captain, and then level #3 gives you Admiral. Not only would this extend gameplay, but it'll also take away the problem with the doff system accelerating your level up. You wont be able to rely so much on the Doff System as you'll have to actually work at it to get all the requirements. Least then, it'll also take longer to get to 'end game point'.
Yeah, just saw that. I've requested it to be updated. My OP was correct -- 6-10am PDT.
That's 2pm - 6pm English time (for anyone who hasn't already worked it out).
    Reassignment prices are INSANE!
    Uh Huh!

We tried our best to get them to modify it, we had a 70 odd page thread of complaints about this and there was no response from the devs.
You act surprised. From experience, they don't respond unless that have something to say that we're going to like. They've obviously made their mind up about this and thought "**** the community, lets up the prices" but they can't tell us that so the best they can do is stay quiet, which is, what they're doing.

    This game is free.
However, it's what you are willing to pay that will take your gameplay to the level you want it to be at.
Buying things from the Z-Store keeps this game alive.
If not, it will die and then we will not have any star trek online at all.
I don't mind putting money into the game if the game wasn't about putting money into. In order to 'win' at this game, people buy the best stuff (next up, Vesta). People wont realistically be able to win PvP with anything else because the Vesta is the best ship out there. Some people (myself included) think the design ugly. I'd much rather stick with my Fleet Escort or Assault Cruiser, but I'm limited to what I can achieve in these. Why should fork out cash on a 5000zen purchase for a ship that is built to defeat all others? That's not how I want to play the game. I want to be able to use tactics, I want to be able to use skills, not money.

If this game had three fully playable equal factions, with enough unique content for all, with each faction playing differently I'd put more money into the game. Until then, I'm putting my foot down!
everyones asking for a cube!, but im sure thats to big, hopefully we will get a sphere or something! and can u please make more engineering ships lol ty love the game tho
I'd rather have a better Klingon Fleet. Why we need Borg ships I'll never know. The day that I see a player flying around in a Cube will be the day Hell freezes over.
    Known Issue:
I've added the following to the patch notes:
Occasionally, provision projects are incorrectly available to slot on a new Embassy.
Any alteration or slotting of any project in the Embassy will make these projects disappear until they are correctly unlocked.
    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=
So... you're releasing something with Season 7 that doesn't actually work correctly? I read that right?

So what's the other ship besides Vesta that Geko's teasing on his twitter? Fleet Assault Refit?
Best not be that Borg Cube!

@ pwebranflakes, I don't mean to whine and complain, but sometimes it really does feel as though you guys don't listen to us at all. Oh, and for the love of God, whatever you decide with the next lock box, make sure it doesn't have a Romulan (or Reman) ship in it. I still have high hopes for a fully-playable Romulan Faction; the way I see it, the second a Romulan ship ends up in a Lock Box is the same second we (the community) can wave goodbye to any thought of a Romulan faction.

For the record they do have a customer service department! I read some one saying they did not but I have delt with them in the past!

They are a good team but I doubt Customer Service reads the forums they deal with accounts and payment options! They are customer service, not community management team. I use to work at a call center and we had forums but we where told never to go there!

Most of the time we where to busy offering billing support, technical support or account support to read the attention. Now don't get me wrong I wanted to work on the community management team and be like BranFlakes but so did everyone else at my old call center!

BranFlakes is the Community Manger and the main guy to help regulate the forums! Now he does have Moderators.

This is a forum not a tech support area or a complaint department area!

It is an area where we all can come together and talk about the game that is good or bad and based on how we feel!

I can also say it also depends on how you write your trouble ticket. I have gotten a lot of responses from them. Now by no means am I special or buddies with the forum guru's or the Dev's as a matter of fact, the other day I was warned for a possible infraction.

My point in all of this is simple, keep the forums for what it is and not what you want it to be!

Ok first off you apprently dont even pay attention if he was a community manager than why in the world is he making comments and posting on a technical level about stuff..You dont even seem to know what you are talking so i would suggest you not talk unless you know what you are talking about...Do you realize in all the Dev Blogs...You know what that stands for right? Last time i checked a community manager did not make posts with the development team so guess what? Oh wait never mind i dont even care at this point....Second off big deal you used to work in a call center..I still do work in one and in fact I am One of the floor managers so yes i know exactly how they work out..and if any of my employees did the things that PWE has they would out of a job quick...and yes perhaps you are one of the very few that got good CS... it would a very rare occurrence as there thousands of posts about PWE's horrible customer service skills so on that note im done because it will do no good to complain about something that will not be fixed or improved...And a great many would probably agree...
If they make something idiot proof. They will come out with better idiots

By having the Borg 3 piece - shield, deflector and engine - you get the hull heal, shield heal and the tractor beam just like before, its just that you have to use the shield now.
The console has now been moved to the "weapon" set - Console, Borg cutting beam and the HUGE torp

The problem with this is the shield is X level at best. Compared to the X12 and especially Elite fleet shields this is a HUGE disadvantage for that set.

Yes. Let me give you an example. I ran a project (Practice Tactical Exercises II) that requires 60 tacticals and 60 security department doffs. I bought ~400 fleet tactical doffs with several characters. I got ~20 security department doffs (sometimes, if I am lucky enough I get ~25-30) and ~380 tacticals. I filled up 60 needed tacticals very quicky and was left with 320 white tactical surplus and was in short of ~40 security doffs. Sure I could save some of those tacticals for future projects but there's really no need to do that cause I'll get them again from fleet doff packages.
I keep forgetting people have over two to three characters. Since I am only using one KDF and two Federation characters, I have limited myself to a conservative experience. Even though I am using the free to play system, I am investing a lot of physical money into zen. Limiting myself to a handful of characters allows me to get more bang for my buck.

Perhaps your problem is something else? If you have multiple avatars running, perhaps you have too many of them? Why are you giving yourself more work to do?

"Star Trek: Online" is not a race to build a fleetbase. Its a place to have fun.

    Holy fan boi postings...

Buying Doffs at the starbase has been happening for a long long time now, it is nothing new.

The problem is the ratio what which the starbase throws out Doffs. You have a 90%+ chance of getting a tactical officer over a security when buying department specific Doffs. THIS IS A PROBLEM

In the past people would go to the grinder to break the doffs down because the grinder gives you fairly even odds, that is impossible now. If you needed 100 of each tactical and security Doffs you'd probably end up with 800 extra tactical Doffs, there is no use for those now, the exchange will flood with excessive tactical doffs and security doffs will go sky high because nobody can afford to grind them anymore. The major price gouging isn't going to get better, we are all going to be forced into the major doff sinkhole now instead of only some of us.

That is the tactical example, the engineering is nearly as gloomy as well, science is only like a 2:1 ratio.

Dilithium is a major issue as well, playing fleet actions isn't a good solution for being more diverse. People don't play fleet actions because they are terrible or broken, that isn't changing. Fleet actions are dull, time consuming and simply not fun. B'Tran was only played because of its ability to get dilithium, so they are swapping one terrible set of game play with another terrible set of gameplays? This is their master plan? Its no master plan, its greed, don't sugar coat it, it is what it is.

4 hours to gain the 8k cap = unacceptable and i'll uninstall. I can not and will not put 4 hours per day in this game just for things i actually require in some cases.

I dont think i'll be the only one. I've been very worried that It would take the timeframes you want to get anything worth having.

    Season 7 dilithium sinks

    Reputation System: Borg
    Reputation System: Romulan
Not in actual advancement (supposedly) But sure as hell in gear costs. Which are HUGE.

    Romulan Embassy
    Fleet Starbase.

    Z-Store items.

I've sworn off ground STF items instead i've gone pure fleet. And once elite shields come on line (Very soon for me) I doubt i'll be using an 'omega' weapon even with the downside of having to manually remodulate. If you max out dilithium you get 56k each week. That aint enough for contributing to all of this and buying items. I hope the timeframe isnt as intensive as you're predicting or i will be one of those leaving. Other games vie for my HD space.

However everything in the world has its pros and cons... know this is quite a grindfest but remember things could go worse. I'm not unhappy with this new doff system (neither happy btw) but at least they decreased a bit the number of doffs needed for the sb projects and the quality needed for them
After all they tried to balance things someway... (this doesn't mean they succeeded though)

The problem with the doff rates is not that it will crush the economy, it will just make it incredibly difficult for people to compete in pvp, and any ranked pve missions. You can only make so much money for buying doffs on the exchange and in the fleet store. The fleet store is random as well, further complicating the matter.

Though it also gets a little boring playing the same characters for years on end, I have 6 Lvl 50 Feds and 3 KDFs (2 Lvl 50 and 1 on Lvl 30). It spices up the grind, plus each of them has their skill tress specialising slightly differently. :)

Yes three types but you can totally manipulate the way you build it up. One can be a healer, or a support vessel, one can be a DPS'er, the limits are only restricted to what you can come up with! Science of Example I have one character who is a healer then in another science character I have that scientist being a support specialist that is slightly on the DPS side of things. The options are limit less and it does take a while to get use to the new builds!
