I agree with the Doctor on this one. I have nothing aginst the player paying for lifetime they show that the plan to be around awhile. All my focus is on cryptic and who ever else keeps dumbing down the game. I haven't logged in all this time just to see someone who just started playing the game ..(A day or so ago).. what not. to get the same Vet reward thats I have worked at the past couple yrs. I have stoped displaying all my rewards they mean nothing to me now.
Maybe Cryptic should have reserved certain titles or accolades for people who have been playing for a long time. Folks who've been around a long time would still have their 'cred', and new LTS players could still enjoy all of their LTS benefits.

It's almost funny -- it used to be that everyone cried about LTS and how, while it saved you money, you got basically nothing for paying a giant lump sum upfront, and that it was a huge waste of cash.

Once, a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I recall that there was this game called STO that once offered rewards based on time subscribed, this was called "Veteran" rewards. If I recall my history correctly, the company in charge changed the definition of Veteran Rewards, and gave it to people instantly via purchasing the rewards in one lump sum of money, called a Lifetime Subscription. No longer were the Veteran Rewards time based, they were now a "buy your way to Veteran Rewards" scheme.
My question is, did the people in charge of STO ever provide Veteran Rewards again, based on time subscribed back into the game? Or was this reward system forever removed?
Satire aside, I'm asking a serious question. When will Cryptic introduce a Veteran Reward system into the game, like there use to be at one time, based on time subbed, and not simply bought in a lump sum and collected all at once.
In Cryptic/PWE's mindset, they are Loyalty rewards, thanking you for your continued/lifetime subscription. Think of it that way and it explains on why/how the Company is using it to attract new subscribers. Maybe it's not right but that's what it has always been... to Cryptic/PWE.
Don't let it eat you up inside. Newbies will still have to learn how to use all that stuff and how not to get their butts kicked in PvP.

OMG, Cryptic makes super awesome veteran ships for 1000 day reward and you didn't expect them to conjure up a way to make additional monies off of it? From a business stand point it made perfect sense, you may not like it, but I for one welcome our new 1000 day LTS newbie overlords.

Cryptic changed the terms on the LTS to allow anyone with an LTS to instantly claim all 1000 days worth of vet rewards.
This change was retroactive meaning anyone who has an LTS can claim the vet rewards regardless of time subbed.
Anyone can still claim the vet rewards in the same way as before if they can't afford an entire LTS at once.
Some people over here are upset by this, others pleased, the rest indifferent. This is split across all three types of players (free, subscribers, LTSers)

It is NOT Elitism and I do not understand where peeps are getting this from. I do not understand where the PvPers are called Elitists either. I do not PvP as much as I used too because..welll....it got boring...the Devs haven't added any new content to it in..idk..1000 days.
I feel those of us that have 1000 days "in game" should not be persecuted by those who do not. Yes, I have alll the goody's, but I have gone thru 1000 days of STO game TRIBBLE that came with getting all those goody's. I will not appologize for having alll the cool stuff and I will blow your ship up in space PvP or "1 shot" you in a ground PvP and not think twice about it.
In closing...Overall I like STO...I do not however like or agree with the aggressive Dilth econ. I would like PvP to get a make over, add Risa Beach Wear and keep adding to the KDF ie:some new clothes would be nice. I think PvE is doing fine, and I am on the fence with a "Death Penalty" because it is soooooo easy to get your ship blown up in PvE or PvP.
My list goes on...Maybe by S10 these things will get addressed..We will see.

It really doesn't matter to me though...I think the only vet reward I use is my gold shouldered uniform.

Problem is people liike me. I have paid since day one and last paid september. Just hit my 1000 days. September cryptic got my last 6 month payment. March there is no money from me. Heck the card on file is now expired lol. Why the heck would I still pay them over $70 in march for my 2 toon sub?? I have bought a lot of cstore stuff before LOBI. But since... only thing is a racing uniform. "bought wiith my monthly points" Last biggie was the 3X Oddy:) I earn keys threw exchange. They lost money from me.
Maybe there is not enough 1000 days subs worth Cryptic making happy. If so then the needs of the many is better for the profit than the needs of the few. But Vet rewards ending has ended my sub.
You don't see Ensigns in STAR TREK bribing Starfleet to make them Vice Admirals.

They get a battlefield commission to Lt, patrol Sirius sector and maybe Regulus sector for a day or two, get the ability to boss their "crew" around via the DOff system, get "experienced" enough by doing this to be considered a Lt. Cmdr, then go beat up on Mirror starships attempting to blockade "Starbase meh" 4 times an hour for a week or two till they're a VA...
See, no bribery involved (unless you're a KDF officer and you're using the "bribe X with contraband/prisoners" DOff missions... :P)
