Why only 9 console slots?? you spend 1000 days in game and you cant even get a ship up to par with the fleet ships or lockbox ships. and why does The Fed and KDF ship have all the same stats but the Kdf ship has a smaller shield mod??
I like them. The two universal BOff stations are nice, the transformation sequence looks cool, and picking consoles based on their pros/cons gives a new perspective.
The note from the designer of the Chimera is a great touch.

KDF one has a battlecloak.
edit - they come with built in regenerative mode which would be the 10th console. you just dont get a choice to swap it out.

Sigh... some people going to complain no matter what. I say "Thank you, Cryptic". I think the ships look interesting and I'm looking forward to flying one... in a few weeks.
And for the complainers... it beats a monkey pet any day!
I think I got my wish, a Sci vessel that can mount cannons with the added bonus of switching between Escort and Science!
All I have to do is wait 300 odd days to get it lol
Shouldn't Regenrative Mode and Sector Space mode on the Chimera be switched? I think it'd make more sense for the nacelles to be extended at warp, then pulled together (a defensive position) at impulse. But that's just me.

May only have 9 consoles and a slightly lower shield mod but at least we still have a cloak. The shield mod loss was payment for that I'd imagine.
Looking forward to flying this KDF destroyer (and maybe the other side too) but only about 400 ish days left to go!
Well, I'll take 'em. Can't say I'm overly fond of the look of the Peghqu'; I just think it's a shame that the KDF design wasn't a product of a competition so it too could have someone as talented as Vektor in designing it.
But, you know. Perhaps a C-Store skin in the future?

YES! ... Very well said! .... I'm thrilled with these ships!
Wow thanks guys and girls you went the extra 1ft and even screwed this up aswell.
ships are ugly
rewards are predictable and uneventful.
Thanks for the "constructive" criticism

Anyhow, I'm kinda stoked about these ships; I may have to replace my vanilla anniversary Odyssey class with the destroyer. Not as many weapons as the Odyssey, but a far better turn, and the Console is really interesting Advanced Quantum Slipstream puts in on par with the Odyssey on sector space too. Better than the simple token ship I was expecting. I won't get it until the end of the month, but I'm looking forward to tricking it out
To Vector: congrats on getting your ship in the game, maybe not in the manner in which you set out, but in a very excellent way nonetheless!

I don't care how long you've been playing. I only care about how you play.
And remember to follow the rules.
I think there either has to be some mistakes in that blog or there are somethings we have not yet been told. As such I have two questions based on the following observations from the blog that I feel need to be answered:
1) It's saying that both ships have only +5 power to their subsystems that can be toggled from a default +5 to Aux into a +5 into Weapons. I know there is also a +30 to a skill but there is no way that can compare to missing out on 10 power to a subsystem (as these aren't cruisers I doubt they get the +20 a cruiser gets and instead the normal +15). Given that consoles go up to +30 for a skill now while the engineering consoles can give at most ~5 to a subsystem power there is no way they can honestly claim that +30 to a skill makes up for the loss of 10 power to subsystems. I could understand, but disagree with, a difference of 5, but not 10, given how consoles are currently balanced. These ships seems intentionally underpowered compared to lockbox and other endgame (i.e. fleet) ships. If that is the case thank you for the free ship slot, but these ships will not be used for anything serious, which is sad since I think both ships look nice and the unique abilities for them are nice, but they seem intentionally handicapped vs other endgame ships.
So first question: Are the +5 power levels typos and actually meant to be +15 or is there another subsystem power bonus that was omitted from the article for both ships?
2) The 9 console I can unfortunately understand since I fully expect them to want us to have to buy a fleet version of the ship to get the fleet bonuses, but will that version cost 4 modules or 1? (Hopefully only one, although honestly I think having to deal with a fleet version is a bad idea but it appears that is what they are doing.) If I am mistaken and they aren't going to crank out a fleet version, then they need to at least hand out the 10th console slot and make sure the hull and shield values are matched towards fleet ships and lockbox ships. From what little I have seen this looks like it may be what they are doing as there are only 9 console slots and with the relative base hull value and shield mod value but this feels like a cash grab attempt from people that have already been paying to play the game for 1000 days, which seems a bit rude (to put it politely) to say 'here is a reward, but you have to pay us more if you want to use it to its full potential.
And the second question: Are we going to be expected to have to buy a fleet version to have a ship that rivals the fleet ships and lockbox ships?
Recently I've been trying out my tac in a crusiers and was a bit disapointed by the lack of DPS. A coule of months ago I thought "What i need is a crusier/Escort hybrid"...

I do wonder waht a Vecktor will look like with a borg defelector and that Huge deflector array.. its going to look like that scene out of archnophobia were the mommy spider crawls through the catflap..
I'm normally a Cryptic defender, but the decision to only give these ships 9 console slots is really poor. And, no, the innate regen mode should not be counted as a 10th console. Other 10 console ships (Science Odyssey) also have an 'innate' ability.
Instead of making these ships solid contenders to the lockbox and fleet ships, Cryptic took the cheap route and gimmicked them up. My guess is that the only way there will be a 10 console version of this ship will be via the fleet store, giving Cryptic (in their calculation) yet another chance to dip into my wallet.
In summary, nice artwork, but stupid management decisions screwed up what could have been a nice (and needed) gesture on the part of Cryptic.

a fleet version that 1k day people could upgrade to with fleet ship modules would be sweet.
Kinda wish they count Lifetime as being full veteran... ah well.
Please enable us to buy a token with Zen to faction change a 25th Century FED to a TOS FED.
I'll find out what build I can do in a few days...
They're not rewards I will be claiming anytime soon, if ever, but congrats to those 1k vets that do.
I noticed both of these destroyers have 3 device slots, which is interesting.
Now 2 1k vet "destroyers" have 3 device slots, as does the Krenn Temporal Destroyer.
The Mobius Temporal Destroyer was oddly left out of this, and received only 2 device slots.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

I don't mind, I've only 220 day of sub, so I'll never get it.
God, lvl 60 CW. 17k.
