While I like the idea of the tangible rewards opened up for LTS, I'm not happy about the Forum Veteran Title being just handed out. The people that have been here from Launch will have nothing to show....
Its actually petaQ' but anyways lessons learned that there are those out there need to put it to rest when they know they are wrong
You've proven nothing here, except go on a wall of text rant that had no facts to support your argument, just "oh but you know, the KDF is so weak so that's my argument and feds suck!" stance.
As for the text, I copy and pasted the quote directly from memory alpha, ( not that I care how a fake word is spelled... because it isn't relevant )
I... wanted... to... post... something. Something relevant to the thread. But now all I see is purple doe-eyed Catians and I can't remember what was... I... doing...?
"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.
No, it isn't. I have the B'rel. I fly the B'rel. It's 21,000. It has about 30% less Hull then the KDF Destroyer with 34,500.
The Qin has 33,300... that's LESS than the Destroyer. The FLEET Qin only has 36,300, and that's a FLEET Vessel. And the Fleet Somraw only packs 34,650.
As well to point out an escort and a raptor are 2 different ships. Most fed only players who haven't played KDF much less a raptor usually have no idea what they are talking about. A raptor is in between an escort and a cruiser/heavy battle cruiser. They both have 4 weapons front and 3 rear. Usually have the same boff stations but the raptor turns much slower and has a bit more hull to represent its size.
The Qin has one point less in turn rate than the Advanced and Fleet Escorts. The difference mainly is due to the pivot point on the model. It's a flaw in the design of the actual ship model that supposedly is going to be fixed (for over a year now).
It also has more Hull to balance out it's lower shield modifier.
And while you're pointing out differences in ships you might want to point out that Raptors don't have Battle Cloaks and have higher Hull and Shield modifiers than a Bird-of-Prey (Qin v. Hegh'ta: 33,300 v. 21,000 hull, 0.83 v. 0.8 shield modifier)... thus making the BoPs significantly squishier, especially when they drop shields (which is important when considering cloaking in combat).
So the stating of talking about escorts and cruisers in comparison it is because of the fact the original person stating we shouldnt have a battle cloak on these raptors was comparing information against the cruiser shield modifier...
You started going on about the differences in shield modifiers being due to a discrepancy in cannon use... there are no standard differences in shield modifiers in ships where that discrepancy exists.
In canon reference the only reasons bops usually have the battle cloak due to their size but even with canon after 40 years they could atleast have expanded to raptors or possibly the raptor could have always had them in the TNG/DS9 era due to we never actually saw a raptor.
What are you taking about? There ARE no "Battle Cloaks" in canon. There's just cloaks. ALL ships canonically can cloak in combat. The creation of "Battle Cloaks" versus "Standard Cloaks" is a Cryptic creation to balance the issues with actually cloaking in combat.
Seriously... you don't make any sense... And your numbers don't reflect what we see in the game (or on the wiki which you suggest disproves the claims of others, but actually does so to your own).
if this becomes a fleet ship (but without the vet console) with a 10th console slot and the ability to put the vet console in it, that would be really acceptable.
That would work nicely, but you could have 2 issues:
1) do you need to require vet version to get the fleet version, otherwise anyone could get the fleet version (unless that won't be considered a problem)
2) would it cost 1 or 4 modules to get the ship.
A possibly solution that some may gripe about and others not (Since they only said the ship would not be in the C-store, and nothing about the Fleet store) They could have it cost 4 modules if your not a 1000 day vet/LTS and only 1 if you are 1000 day vet/LTS, and I doubt most people would care, since 20 bucks for a ship for one character when that ship doesn't have its console is pretty pricey (especially since the console is needed for most of it's nice tricks), but 5 bucks for the +10% hull, shields, and 10th console slot wouldn't be bad.
I wouldn't mind a fleet version as a solution to the 'these ships seem underpowered for endgame stuff compared to other endgame ships like the lockbox ships and the existing fleet ships.
I mean, great news for LTSers below 1000 days - if it were me, I'd be overjoyed. But a massive kick in the teeth for those who walked the whole path on foot.
If you feel snubbed about video game rewards, then you don't have your priorities straight. Any Mature Adult who has been subbed/lifed to STO for the whole time will not give in to such childish notions as elitism that has already shown up in this thread.
Just caught up with the blog, and I'm very pleased with the new veteran ships, both in specs and looks! Very excited about getting my hands on them tomorrow now!
Thank you Cryptic, job well done!
Cheers!

P.S. Been a lifer since the beginning and I honestly don't see a problem.
Yep - change it to 'As someone prepared to pay $300 for a ship...'
And for 3 Ship Slots per Character, 4 Respecs per Character, 2 Character Slots, 4 Costumes per Character, and 2 Costume Slots per character. The more characters you have, the more value you get out of vet Rewards.
That's 2750 Zen ($27.50) per character + 1875 Zen (counted the costumes as worth 1000 Zen) as an account bonus.
Say you have 1 of each type of character class. You just got $101.25 worth of services. So you're really only paying $98.75 for a Ship + Not having to pay a monthly cost. Lets say the Ship is worth $25. So you just paid $73.75 for a lifetime account. That's 5 months worth on a monthly sub.
Yeah, That LTS reward incentive is pretty darn worthwhile.
EDIT: And since this is a LTS account with 5 character slots base, you could have 1 of each character class per faction and the services you get out of it would reduce your actual subscription cost to 0. AND you get 500 Zen Per month.
Yeah, you're not paying $300 for a ship, you're paying $300 for a pretty freaking nice care package.
Was saving my EC to get the temporal ship for my Sci KDF. Glad this is coming out, saves me 80M. Good since I wasn't 100% sold on a Klingon ship that didn't cloak.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
Hmm... vet rewards have always ticked off at x99.1 previously, as opposed to x00.0. Doesn't that mean actual 1,000 Day Veterans who under the old (read: current) system would qualify should be getting theirs now if they signed up when the option first became available? Because I don't know about anyone else, but my page says I've been subscribed for over 999 Days, I can use the forum titles, but nothing is unlocking in-game for me.

As for the game, because it isn't in the game yet. That's what tonight's patch is for. As for the Forums, they're likely going to enable the titles when patching is done.

Titles are already up. I said as much.
And the ship should have been in already since, as said, it should have unlocked about an hour or two ago.
Waiting 1,000 Days now isn't even going to get anyone the 1,000 Day reward on time, while tomorrow anyone who buys an LTS will get is a minute after the fact.

Its hilarious how folks love to lord over their shinny goodies over other players in an MMO where money and class warfare doesn't exist. All LTS folks were going to get the rewards sooner or later, why is letting someone have fun with something they paid for now a bad thing. How can anyone say keeping things away from folks makes you feel better. Its a tiny bit sad how angry some folks are.
This is awesome. I have to say thank you to cryptic. I also want to say thanks to the guy who designed the chimera class ship. It looks really nice. I'm also glad you can put cannons on them too. Can't wait!!!
Congratulations to the guy who made this ship Both the fed ship and KDF ship look great. Unfortunately I am a silver member and don't plan on purchasing a membership for this game LTS or Gold so the VET rewards will never apply for me. Hopefully the next non lockbox ships we recieve will look just as good

Congratulations Cryptic. You managed to create the ugliest ship in the game.:( I should have realized when you named it Chimera, but I'm not up on my Greek mythology. It looks like a kid's toy. I got mine this morning, even though I have 17 days until I hit 1000, but since you ruined the vet rewards program who cares any more. It wasn't until I saw the beer belly under the ships saucer I realize how bad this ship was. You also didn't even create a unique bridge for the ship.:( I'm guessing the design meeting went something like this. "We will never be able to sell that in the Zen Store. Let use it as the 1000 Vet reward." If this is the future of STO we are in big trouble.
I agree the Chimera is one ugly ship. From the top/back it isn't so bad but yikes when you look from the front/side/bottom it's god awful ugly. Since when did federation ships become pregnant or carry a fat belly? 4 nacelle ships have so far by convention had the lower pair BELOW the drive section not above.
Stats wise it's inferior to many ships out their overall. Fleet and lockbox ships and specials like the Oddy have 10 console slots already so why would anyone fly this other than for it's fancy console? I'll be sticking with my mobius temporal destroyer on my tac (slightly lower hull/shields but superior console/boff setup and plenty of other cruisers to choose from for my eng.
Complete let down really and as for the kdf having a battle cloak.....the feds get absolutely nothing. Only birds of prey have batte cloak not evne raptors much less battle cruisers have that.
So far my Mugato pet has seen more STO action and that's probably going to stay that way.
True, but since it's a reward for loyal customers you would have thought they would give us a nice looking ship, and the stats for the ship are appalling. Loyalty obviously means nothing.

Since the Excelsior-classI'd imagine, Bill George intentionally designed that vessel to look ugly too because they wanted you to like the Enterprise more.

Now i made the jump and bought the Lifetime! There are so many benefits and i really want to fly that ship and not wait 700 more days haha.
So i am very happy!
Thank You Cryptic! And i hope the game won't die in the next 12 months!

And no. There isn't. Standard bridges only, so no bank/exchange/mail/etc. either. Apparently those things are for RNG ships only...

I also like being able to stack PH with HE. It's also needed now with shield healing being less practical and less likely from teammates in PuGs.
