WTF 700zen for a lousy outfit, where and how often we gonna use this as there is nothing to do with it except the one ground zone that a end gamer can solo mostly in few hours.
700 Zen for only a charactr and for a item that I can only use 2 hrs a day if I have really luck to be during the event and wish to play that thouse rpetitive missions???
Doe sit at least act as costume option or do i have to wear the actual suit as well, breaking all ground sets? Especially the Tholian one, which at mk12 is also very expensive and looks like a bad movies rejected wardrobe?
Okay. Now I can post without raging, because that was my initial wish. Honestly, I expected this to be a C-Store item. But I hoped that by seven dollars this would be account unlock. I have 6 chars. If I want one for each, I will have to pay 42 dollars. And I will say this: By $ 20 dollars I bought on Steam Mass Effect one and two on steam last week. Now, Cryptic. Put this on costumer perspective: do you think that someone will be crazy enough to put this ludicrous amount of money into a single item? Someone could arguee that it is actually 6 itens. But they are all identical. So in this sense they are just one item. Perhaps someone really obessed with the game or really rich would do this. But I think the average players are neither of these. So basically, the average player will not buy this item, but will be always wishing it (or at least me, and I consider myself an average player). On the end it is bad for the company that doesn't profit from this. And it is bad by the costumer that get frustrated and my stop playing, what once again is bad for the company. No one wins. But the company isn't mine. It isn't me who will be losing money. So not my problem...
The same thing goes to the fleet ships. We have already paid it by helping the fleet with doff, dilithium etc. For me doesn't sound right to ask more 20 dollars for one. And I surely will not be buing something that expensive. As I said, by the same price, I buy not one, but TWO FULL games. What is really bad because Cryptic will not profit from me on this and I will be wishing it.
Hope some dev see this and give some though on it.

Thanks Cryptic for introducing the Kelvin Timeline. It remembered why I decided to never more put any money on this game.
Are you guys really surprised at this? Really? These are the same people that want to charge you $20 for a single character unlock fleet ship. Is $7 per character now suddenly all that shocking? Granted I don't like this either, but it's hardly surprising anymore.
You really are trying to become a generic space MMO. What'll be next? Removing Phasers and Disruptors from loot tables, crafting and shipyards, and forcing people to fit out their ship with random energy types unless they're willing to shell out 400 Zen per phaser bank just to get a little authenticity?
I honestly can't manage outrage anymore. This is getting to be par for the course. So really just more of a general feeling of disgust. There's only one way out for you now. Do the "working as intended, just gotta fix this typo" routine you've perfected in the recent past, and lose one of those zeroes.
Or make them account wide unlocks.
Or add uncommon and rare variants that are obtainable by ingame means. (But do it alongside the release, not unannounced a month or a week afterward.)

A $20 per character ship has value and, frankly, makes no difference if you only play one character.
I just did a double take on the price myself.
Honestly, I don't get why anyone would buy this. The purple Tholian sets can be had by spending a couple million EC.
Furthermore, you have to wear an EV suit to display this. So the appeal is pretty limited.
Then again, the EV suits on the Latinum mining station are absurdly overpriced too.
If it came as part of a bundle, a costume unlock, was part of the Tholian lockbox reward table, etc. I could see it.
But all this suit does is get rid of our ground customization (like all EV suits do) and isn't viable for wear anywhere else. (Like the other EV suits.)
I'd pay 700 ZEN for this as an account costume unlock. I might pay 700 ZEN as a character costume unlock.
As a functional piece of hardware? Not worth it.
If you guys are looking for a ground combat monetization stream similar to your ship sales, you need to sell species respecs and additional species unlocks. Or some wild new costume unlocks (and you can bundle in a kit, shield, phaser, etc. if you want some mechanical quality item with the purchase).
Honestly... Hm. I'd pay 700 ZEN for a per character costume that was bundled with a ground item that had a +1 ship console type mechanic.
For example, Dixon Hill trenchcoat look with a Tommygun.
Romulan Infiltration costume (ie. a dropdown costume option that makes us look fully Romulan, with custom uniform colors) with a Thalaron Mine Kit.
Ferengi Businessman costume with a universal kit that summone a Nausicaan Bodyguard security escort, a latinum-plated fabrication bunker, and some kind of science powers.
People don't see ships as equipment. They see ships as their avatar. People don't see EV suits as their avatar. They see the EV suit as something hiding their avatar.
For 700+ ZEN, I want a costume that will get some use elsewhere and something mechanically novel. Or I'd want it to be account wide.
Cryptic, you do realize that Champions Online (Cryptic's other MMO) offers account-wide costume unlocks for 475 zen. Why is Star Trek Online so much more expensive?

The ship is sinking and they want to get a much money as they can before it shuts down.

Reiterating cause the thread had moved on by the time I edited my original post:
Add craftable uncommon (green) versions and 50/80K D-store rare (blue) versions, and I'll be fine. HELL. Add a common (white) one to my replicator. I might get one or two of the very rares for my main(s), or I might not cause 700 Zen still is a lot, but I can't let you live down having to shell out 700 Zen a dozen times for gear that should be standard issue while at the same time being positively INUNDATED in what looks like Ridley Scott's rejected concept art, lazily reskinned half a dozen times and obscenely labled as being "Very Rare". Cause of course Starfleet would reward my efforts on Nukara, randomly, with tech that looks suspiciously Cardassian/Dominion/Ferengi in origin. (That low-balling contractor sure gets around.) Have you ever checked the exchange to see just how people value those armored environmental suits?
Just, doesn't make sense.
But at least I got my rage back. Guess that makes this a good day.
Geez..
Finally they add the awesome suit people want and then its not even for the EV suit set to give it atleast a special costume. >_<
700 per character.
Not reclaimable because its tradeable.
Same or worse stats then items already ingame.
So in the end this is a 700zen non-customizable costume unlock, per chartacter. That cant be used for anything other then standing and showing you used money. My current suit got better stats, so I can't even take this into combat.
"Please, Captain, not in front of the Klingons." Spock to Kirk, as Kirk is about to hug him.
Star Trek V: "The Final Frontier"
I agree with the crowd here. Change this to Per Account, and you'll sell me one of each. Per Character, I won't buy one.. not even with spare stipend-zen from my LTS.
First time I've logged in for a while, just to say:
"Nope."
Good luck with this one, PWE. I refuse to buy anything from your ridiculous store that has the word "character unlock" in its stipulation - let alone for 700 Zen.
Drop a zero, and maybe I'd consider it.
I'll spare the bargaining, as it's quite clear from previous assertions that "you've taken on our feedback" that your hearing is quite selective, but I can only observe that Dan Stahl really needs to have a word with the person dictating these prices, and tap them on the shoulder...
I MIGHT be intrigued if this included a shield and a gun with a set bonus AND it unlocked an unhelmeted version as a costume unlock.
I wouldn't, lol, I'm fine with the MACO set bonus for 2 items, I can't think what I'd change that for and I wouldn't spend 700 Zen on one character just to do that.
If it gave a costume unlock, it might make it a little more worthwhile I suppose, then you are paying for a costume more than an EV suit that isn't much better from the drops.
I don't understand the logic behind this, if you make it account unlocked, you would sell more because clearly people don't want single use unlocks for 700 Zen.
A $20 per character ship has value and, frankly, makes no difference if you only play one character.
I disagree with you on that, but that's beside the point. It seems that recent items being released are per character unlocks. Even the free TNG stuff we got was a per character unlock. If this is any indication, per character unlocks are now the way things are going to go unfortunately.
I'm not taken to complaining lightly and I am usually more than happy to spend a shed of load money on products if I think they are reasonably priced but this has left me quite disappointed. It's not even about the EV suit itself. I splashed out more on Tholian lock boxes than most people will, so it's really not a money issue for me. This is an issue of principles and I urge cryptic to have a rethink here for the good of everyone. Them and us.
I'm not going to rage at them or insult them, simply to ask them to re-evaluate that idea. sometimes you can end up making more money with a lower priced item and not annoying everyone is never a bad thing. Bad calls like this actually make me lose a little interest in the game but it's nothing that can't be fixed, and this is a bad call. I will always remember Stormshade once said that we need to let them know when they mess up. I think we have one of those times and I want you to respectfully know it.
This is not good pricing for your players and its out of keeping with what has gone before. I know this is the first time you have sold armour so its a new item with a new price and its about finding the right price for what's being offered but honestly I think you got this one wrong. Please, please review it and make everyone happy. Give us a fair price or account wide and we will buy it and we will love it.
700 Zen? per character? with worse stats that the Crystaline-Woven suit? and no set bonuses? Jesus Cryptic what have you been putting in your coffee?!?! As many have said this is FAR FAR FAR too expensive for what you're getting.
As much as I'd love to own it, I'm not paying that!
This is basically PWE selling art at a cost that fleeces the star trek fanbase. No one who buys items based on quality of equipment is going to buy this, which means gamers aren't the target audience for this overpriced art - star trek fans are.
Can't claim on all toons can't pay for it.I think its a fair trade.
I think 700zp are @6euros.i have 8 toons x6=48 euros.Few more toons and I'll get a real ev suit to walk around the house and play Neil Armstrong
First off, I want to say that the graphic work on these EV suits looks amazing; the KDF version, in particular, is absolutely stunning.
However, I'm going to add my voice to the chorus here:
In my opinion, 700 Zen for a one-time character unlock is unreasonable. I understand that these will be purchasable from the exchange for energy credits, once people start selling them there, but I for one, prefer to have a feeling of ownership of the items I choose to buy from the Z-Store.
Worse than not being an account wide unlock for the price, is the inability to reclaim the purchase, so that they can't be traded or sold repeatedly. Why would the Z-Store item be tradeable? Isn't the idea of dilithium to provide people with an alternate means of acquiring store items? I'm curious as to the logic behind making this item tradeable, and dissatisfied with the implications that decision has on the Z-Store customers.
The Cryptic team spoke of the importance of adding the feeling of value to the latest lockboxes to hit the game, and from what I understand, sales in that department have been wildly successful. Unfortunately, it seems as though the playerbase is struggling to see the 'value' in this offer.

The pricing is ludicrous.
700 zen per character?
700 zen per character costs more than... two characters.
For me to pay 700 zen would require the following:
Otherwise this is a piece of equipment, with seriously limited use.
It's more expensive, character-only and less useful than a shuttle (which is really saying something).
...wait...700 Zen per character you say?
No thanks, I'll stick with the standard ones!
