If they were smart they keep the current numbers the same and let the 25% discount just slide through. They would make a LOT more money that way.

But, gaming company's account departments are notorious for being filled with total morons.

lol you want them to take a 25% cut across the board? No company is going to willingly give up that much long term profit for a short spike in sales. Judging by the number of armitage/atrox/oddy etc in game people are comfortable with the current pricing scale or people are happy to sell cpoints/zen to those who want to grind dilithium for the ships at that price.

Grow up before calling other morons. Or better still give me some of what you are imbibing. That is some mighty good stuff.

Yeah, I probably should have just kept my mouth shut. I forgot how many people on these boards are incapable of math.

Are you referring to yourself here? But yeah it is better to sit quietly and be thought dumb than to open your mouth and remove all doubt in the matter.

Ps maths and cost benefit analysis has been part of my job for the last 25 years. I will take my company's continued satisfaction with my work during that period over a random opinion on an online gaming forum.

i find it entertaining when somebdoy calls somebody else an idiot or a moron but what they say makes them seem even more of a moron....

tell you all a good suggestion. study your subject before youpronounce yourself morons. this is even better half these people complaining have obviously not bought a ship by actually paying for it since PW has been in control quite obviously... they are unaware that you currently do buy with paypal and your paypal account anyway.. they are unaware that you buy zen and convert it to cpoints at the same exchange rate specified here already..

do these people even play STO or do they just log in to troll the forums and complain about something just to make people upset?

it would be a nice gesture if they left some prices. for example those ships, which will have a fleet version will be outdated, plus you will have to pay for the fleet version too. so esentially you will only buy a console (and a new skin, if you are lucky)

By the by, if you're in Canada it's a better deal with the exchange rate to buy Zen cards at the 7-11.

    Useful, productive post there.

Of course the exchange is high right now, most people took their offers off while the new patch was brought in. Give it a day or two to settle down, and *then* complain about it.

    In general, you're right...

Just wanted to point out that a 25% increase to 80 is 100, not 125...

    :)

If I am supposed to have more Zen points than C-points after conversion, then something went wrong with my account. I had a little over 10k in C-points, but now I only 6750 Zen points. If anyone can help me fix this, I'd be much appreciative.

One of the peeps on the Doff channel was looking at getting some - UK based, he was saying

    Before 4.00 for 500cp
    Now 3.56 for 500zen

Are UK players getting a bad deal?

500 Zen is worth less then 500 CP

500 CP = 625 Zen if I did the math right.

I believe they got the conversion right however on their own exchange rate (for PWE) https://billing.perfectworld.com/exchange

    Star Trek Online

    5 ZEN = 4 ZEN
    100 ZEN = 80 ZEN

Soooo I'm guessing they just changed the CP to Zen but haven't updated the exchange page or are we still getting a lower amount of actual Zen when we convert them to STO? If so the zen cost in the store should be readjusted back down to their original values. :)

The site won't SHOW Zen instead of C. So there it'll still show XXXc. But I noticed my balance went up the other day when the conversion happened as it should have. So thinking that it's just a cosmetic thing they haven't fully updated maybe?

cstore balances and prices changed on thursday in game - cpoint balances were converted to zen and increased by 25% as advised (I had 800c on wednesday, I had 1000zen after thursday's patch). Prices in the new Zstore were also likewise increased - the armitage for example was 2000c and after patch is 2500zen.

the web based cstore (accessed from the launcher) has also had its prices and balance adjusted.

buying zen and transfering it into the game is now a 1:1 ratio. You buy 5000zen and transfer it to sto you still have 5000zen

The dilithium exchange rate is player set. Any outstanding trades that were on the exchange prior to the patch were returned to player balances. After the patch, a lot of players put their zen back up for sale at the same rate of 350 dil per zen (which is about 25% too high) in an effort to catch people out for the most part. Over the past couple of days this rate has dropped to the more correct 272 dil per zen (80% of former price in line with the value of zen vs cpoints)

There are no plans that I am aware of or have seen discussed in patch notes for holodeck or tribble to adjust dilithium store prices in any way. Likewise the earning of dilithium in game has not changed. This patch was about replacing the cpoint currency with zen. dilithium is remaining as the currency earned in game which can be converted to zen via the exchange mechanism.

    Re: https://billing.perfectworld.com/exchange

The exchange page has I believe been updated incorrectly by simply doing a search replace of cpoints with zen. this is not the true state of affairs and I will advise Branflakes of what appears to be an error

Show me where you read that dilithium was converting to zen. I have read no such thing. As I said above all announced changes to currencies have been completed.

Who will buy /pay 2000+ zen points for a console ,grind their life and pay again for fleet credits then buy a craft token for a fleet ship?

I think PeeWee thinks people around the world who play this game are idiot bilionaires.

Yeah Gotta agree with you there, was looking at Buying a Nebula class to replace my Trident at cap. Then I looked at the Fleet version of the Nebula, 20,000 fleet credits, plus you need 4 fleet ship modules (500 z-points each). So you're paying the same in z-points plus working your butt off grinding fleet creds for a ship with what? 4k more hull, and a 0.64 Impulse increase ??? Thanks but no thanks I'll pay once and deal with the marginally lower stats in 2 places as well as getting a free console thrown in.
