on the mirror universe ships will we be able to change parts for example i have the imperial and i use different parts on my assault cruiser will i be able to keep my same hull configuration, and will the terran empire ships have the I.S.S. prefix cause that would play into my engineer character who is from the mirror universe. also will they have a special type of phaser on it or is it only the console and boffs, just curious
I freely admit that it sounds like they've improved the lockbox rewards.
Don't care about the Tholian or Mirror Universe ships without seeing stats, but if I got one I assume I'd be able to trade it for something I do want. I honestly don't know whether I'm interested in opening these new lockboxes or not.
I'll reserve comment on the Lobi increase until I've seen what the prices are.
Fact remains as long as Lobi crystals are character-bound, there's not much profit in using more than one character to open lockboxes and the value of the Lobi store is diminished as a direct result of that.

what changes? the improved odd? going from one ship to four ships and the federation gets 2 well the klingons get 1?
yeah so by all means go try and kick that football lucy's holding charlie brown
The changes are the highly-improved variety of rewards... with little 'junk' stuff.
One example is the now-gone Ferengi boxes: It had a chance to receive Lobi Crystals, who's numbers varied... now with the Tholian ones, there's a guarentee that every box will contain at least 4 of them.
And don't bring Fed vs. KDF in here. That's a whole other argument for another thread.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
The Borg will be pleased, enough Energysources for another Plasmatorp or two ...
Lockboxes will vanish the second it costs more producing content for it, than receiving money from keys. And this most likely will never happen before STO shuts down
Tholians are better than any Box before, but still, they're gambling at its finest.
Guess I have to ask Martus Mazur for one of his Gambling Devices
So now we have Tholians serving on StarFleet vessels. Does anybody else feel that this is really starting to get silly. Not to mention, how do Tholians not die in the Earthlike environment of a StarFleet vessel. PWE, they'll do anything for a buck.
Come on people, be strong! They had to up the % rates on stuff cause players weren't buying their junky boxes! Keep it up! Let's make the annoying lock boxes unprofitable for PWE so they go away. (yeah, I know too many players have too much money to waste or are addicted to gambling, but I can dream can't I?)
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

How are they serving? Exactly the same way the Breen are: wearing their special suits to keep in their prefered environment.
In the Tholian's case, it's an EV suit.

<<IMO>> This looks like a good lockbox. We'll see how it really is in practice...
There is no "good lockbox". The reason is because it is still a random purchase. That is why the doff pack they did a couple times ago was such a good thing: you actually knew what you were getting, and you had a chance to get special bonuses.

I'd be surprised if they even thought of that. How many bugs/galors/d'koras are flying around with a U.S.S. prefix now?
Hmmm. Maybe i will open one, depending on the stats on the ships. I like that they tried to address some of the criticism. I guess its too much to ask for them to stop completely.
However, now that this profit source is out, can you PLEASE address the S6 concerns that have neglected for almost a week now.
1.) Borked Exchange
2.) CXP -> Fleet Mark vender
3.) Doff UNgrinder
4.) Way to put data samples in more than one at a time.
etc.

Lock Box discussion aside, I will say that there's stuff like that in the official Star Trek: Titan novels, or Diane Duane's old TOS novels. Not Tholians, specifically, but species requiring some really serious environmental mods to serve in Starfleet.

They're probably working on it as we speak. And like I told another poster, the people who made these lockboxes aren't the same people who fix game issues.
The fact it's taking this long tells me they'll fix a bunch of them at once (or at least try to), on Thursday, which is their normal patch day.

You do realize that the doff packs are "random purchases," right? Besides, 95% of the duty officers you open are worthless, and you're never going to open that perfect purple engineer with stubborn and resolve and whatever. It's the same principle with lock boxes, it's just that the prize pool is a different set of strings and numbers.

Lets see how many of you "positive" posters will be crying that they spent ?100s on lockboxes and didn't get a ship...
They may have added more ships and "say" they have increased the % chance, but they are still not giving you the odds, so guess what, you still don't really know if it's now 0000000000.1% chance or 000000000.1% chance.
Am I missing something, or have Cryptic guaranteed a ship in every lock box? Nope, thought not.
So, when you get the same item 50 times, you will once again realise, the house always wins.
Will lockboxes still litter the screen...
Hey Trek 17, do you have some kind of insider information that this is all PWE and Cryptic are only following orders? I seem to recall Cryptic not only charging a sub, but also a C-Store from day 1, so I don't get the impression they're the good guys. You keep on defending them to the hilt, so you must know something we dont.
Didn't Dan also state that Cryptic is in full control? So either he's lying (no way, not "we are going to give you a full KDF faction and PVP. I have spoken to PWE and they have given the green light no wait, I meant only 1 person said yes at PWE, so it now a no") or it is PWE who are pulling the strings...
Please tell me your secret source on this.
In the end, it's another nail in the coffin for Brand Cryptic and Brand Star Trek...

when are actual issues gonna be fixed in the game?

I think it will scare the **** out of me if I see a giant spiderish thing crawling around in my ship.:D

And people are still suprised. I dont know . these silly people.
Liking these rewards. Didnt open much lockboxes in past. will try bunch of these.
Good progress

YES!!! Fix this please!!
i guess the last lockbox boycott campaign didn't work out too well.
at least if you're going to open lockboxes the rewards are better this time around.
look forward to seeing if the fleet mark boosts will be reasonable on the exchange if they're not bound.
what u are getting actually look better vaule for money tho i hope i dont just end up with a but load of xii weapons.
Solution:
layoff/reassign lockbox coders
hire/reassign patch coders
Not happening unless they're adding patches and bug fixes to the C-store/Lockboxes.
And no I'm not taking credit for this if it does happen, that's all on mkilczewski if it does!
And each job can only be done so fast. So much as they'd like to be, I'm thinking the current code patchers aren't miracle workers, no offense to them

And as long as they are around, people will keep saying they dont like them.
Sarcasm: That requires effort
Haters gonna hate these silly sad people .
