In keeping with the theme of Tholians, and building upon our past tradition of offering very rare, handcrafted Duty Officers in our Lock Boxes, there will be a chance to gain one of six unique Warfare Specialist Duty Officers, all of whom are members of the Tholian species willingly serving aboard Federation and KDF starships in defiance of the Tholian Assembly.

The whole thing should have been a doff pack. Doff pack = win, lock box = fail.

But now I have something new to be shoving into the recycler!

    Yes and yes...unfortunately. :(

It's a bit strange that we can get Tholian ships for ourselves while we never saw one as an enemy before...

    And orders are orders.

Which I'm assuming is the case here.

And very interesting rewards there, even if the highest one (the Tholian ship) is still very low. I won't be opening many of these, as I'm saving my dilithilum for my character's playstyles, but these all sound cool :)

Indeed. Given the Upgraded GQ Doff Pack and the Reinforcements Doff Pack, this seems to be a mandate from PWE.

Sorry? No faction specific ships in lock boxes? What happened to that statement eh?

I don't understand why this logic is not comprehended by the people responsible for making those decisions.

No PWE. Just No. You don't get the point that you're losing more paying customers than you're gaining by adding these, for gods sake put the ships in the C-Store... no wait the "Zen Store"

You know, I'm ok with this. The prizes are all pretty neat, and master keys are dirt cheap on the exchange anyway.

Will there be gold boxes like before, too?

that looks like a decent lockbox to me.

i want to wait and see how it is in practice after ive bought a few but it does seem to be much more valuable and less rubbish in there.

It's still called the C-Store, it just uses Zen. This is pwebranflakes official word.

And on the lockboxes, PWE only care about their money. And because of that, they won't figure that out until too late.

i like the whole thing were its explained that mistakes were made, the way you took on board the feed back, that you added more ships because thats the reason why people buy the keys for lockboxes etc etc

We can see alot of work went into this thank you

Now how about more story/mission content just for something for us to do

I was with everything up to this part:
...and even a beastly Tholian Recluse Carrier that players will have the opportunity to fly into battle.

Players flying a Tholian Carrier just doesn't seem right.

Question, then: Will all the original Lobi Store items still be there, just with additions for the Tholian lock boxes?

    Thanks! :)

So cryptic made changes to make the boxes better and you all still hate them for it. Way to practice that Trek diplomacy all you guys are such fans of.

Cryptic Thank you for making changes to the lock box system. Its not perfect but I may actually use these keys I've been sitting on that I picked up off the exchange.

You know, with better drops and more possibilities of these new boxes, I'm almost tempted to open a couple... NO! What am I saying? My God, make it stop!!

Seriously though, these do look better than the previous boxes.

Yeah, some people just can't be satisfied, and it's just sad there's nothing we can do about that.

I thank you as well, Cryptic :)

The community feed back was overwhelmingly to scrap the lockboxes!!!

Oh well, more stuff to drift in space as i'm sure they'll be 2-a-penny and ofc lifers can STILL only buy 4 keys a month! :(:(:(

    Pass!

Meh, never gonna get away from lockboxes I guess. The prizes look like an assortment of decent-to-cool though (and the KDF definately wins on the console this time). I guess if we're stuck with lockboxes no matter what, I'll certainly take decent-to-cool over full-of-junk. Not that I'm burning EC on keys for anything not gold, of course.

    Tholian Orb Weaver

Couldn't even get the name of the weapon right.

Maybe you mean the Tholian Web Weaver?

Cryptic is under orders to put these in. That means any and all feedback for this won't change a thing.

    It's sad, but true.

But they're not talking about the web, they're talking about a Tholian ship class, one of the new ones.

Just when you thought they learned their lesson when the started adding items to the doff packs. Then they pull this. Had to get my comment in now because soon this thread will be flooded with moved threads being placed here.

They probably did learn their lesson, and that's why we got the Doff pack.

But PWE ordering them to do this next one lockbox style doesn't help.

I'm not actually that bothered with this - it takes seconds to just bin a stack of them and the rewards aren't actually that bad this time.
