Not really much of a perk. How about an option for those that don't want to play another game.

I will be using this, as I am interested in NW. However, seeing as how this is completely unrelated to the actual game people bought the LT sub for, I hope there will be more perks added that *are* actually related to STO.

    This, +1. :)
Hi. Apparently I'm new here and joined in Jun 2012. Guess I'm in good company though... seems everyone else joined then too!

I personally love beta testing so I'm pretty excited about the opportunity. But as a bunch of other people have pointed out, Cryptic/Atari really messed up when it came to the Star Trek Online Closed Beta back in the day where people bought lifetime subs of Champions to get early access to Trek (i.e. not letting the people who paid for access in first). But I'm happy to have the opportunity to test out this game. They've been giving us Veteran rewards every 100 days anyways so this is just something extra.

I have only one question which is how will we know when we have been invited to the closed beta will we get e-mails on here or e-mails to the e-mail account we used to setup on here?

Back in late winter I told myself to wait for a sale to become a lifetime subscriber. Then when the sale came round I kinda felt "meh" about it. Now, with this so-called perk... Something that has absolutely nothing to do with STO, but Cryptic is still grinding out little "money-makers". Ick, like most games that go F2P, they're more concerned about getting players but not keeping them. I'll pass...

Ugh, These complaints are ludicrous. Where are you people getting that a perk has to be permanent? This beta access is the very definition of a perk. I bought the LTS not because I wanted access to this beta, but because I wanted to play STO, access to this beta is an added perk. If you don't want be involved in the closed beta then don't play. They did the same thing for CO LTSer's yet I don't remember them complaining. This community never ceases to amaze me, I swear you all wake up tr...combing the forums for something to complain about. I, for one, thank Cryptic for listening to those fans who wanted access.

since when are beta something that u dont get for free how is adding a invataion to test a diferant game a STO perk

Having access to a Beta for another game offer very little value for customers to make a lifetime commitment purchase for S.T.O. . Perhaps if P.W. offered some intrinsic value for players for S.T.O. , that would be persuasive. Also, these offers should have some sort of way for people to wrap their recent yearly subscription purchase into the offer. My re-sub is in April and would much of it would be wasted money if I purchased the lifetime at this moment.

I was wondering the same thing. I think the invites will be account specific, though, and since we've linked our Cryptic accounts to PerfectWorld I have a feeling it will only be one actual invite even if they invite you twice (unfortunately).

I feel like I have been railroaded so badly from tbe LTS and multiple game copies I invested in that I would not even spit in the direction of another title. From the c-store price jumps to the forums that changed over night that reminded me of insurrection

Forced relocation being beamed out of your forum onto a crappy not finished holo pwe forums, linking our accounts or you can not post? Sto has way more than 600 inhabitants.

It was not right there just as it is not right here.....bait and switch.....sell you on a good product and then get you pushed into a lemon or substandard product =pwe forums and the more I see the less I am impressed. It makes you miss a terrible company like Atari.

Id rather have a "perk" in the game i bought my lifetime to. As it stands the current perks are not worth the cost even at the sale price...

Been with STO for 394 days with Life Time Subscriber since it had first been introduced in STO, I bought it for perks in STO, the free points each month, the borg character, and some nice items in STO, I been playing STO off and on since I have had it.

I been playing BOI Perfectworld for 2 years, on Poseidon Server

I had 2 different accounts with these 2 games, until it merged with Perfectworld lol, I really didn't like having my boi account the same as my sto account with the same password. I think this makes a bad security issue, I like see a authenticator thing like SWTOR,

And Diablo 3 has, though Diablo 3 is a TRIBBLE poor game and blizzard has become a bad company, they just pissed me off completely since I tried playing that game, they made me want to never buy another of their products ever again.

I like see a STO perk rather then having a 3rd game to play on top of 2 games I already playing,

The attitude in this thread is sicking. You get something for free and you complain?

You didn't pay your LTS for Neverwinter, this is just a bonus, why complain about it, you've been getting all your STO stuff for 2 years now with LTS.

Did they mention when the NWN beta invites were to be going out to lifers? I haven't seen too much info on this outside of the main announcement. Have not received mine if they have already been sent out.

I don't believe any have been sent yet. They did state the invites would be stretched out over the span of the closed beta though; meaning everyone won't get their invites at the same time.

It didn't state specifically, just that they would be doled out over the course of the beta. So it sounds like it will work like the STO beta and the LTS invites will be spread out.

To offset some of the negative posts here. I am very interested in trying out a new game.

Hard as it is to believe, I do have interests outside of Star Trek Online.

If someone wants to give me access to another game in the catalog, I am not going to complain. It is easy to delete offers that do not interest me.

While I reject the notion of things like Tuffli's being a 'perk,' I have to disagree with the attitude in this thread.

Nobody promised lifetimers beta access to stuff before. Nobody bought lifetime membership to get into NWN beta.

It's a perk, sheesh. If you don't like it, don't use it.

First off, I've been paying for the annual subscription since the game went from Beta to Live. PWE is using this offer to "sweeten the pot" for people like me to buy a new LTS account. The problem is that this offering really isn't a "free perk", it's a way for them to further market a new product that we (at this time) aren't using, Neverwinter. For them to promote it as some major perk ( D&D style world game in a Spaceship Shoot'em up game) is due to either

    A) Poor marketing concept

    B) To promote the new game through the older game

Either of those reasons don't really add value to a typical STO player.

SO updating to LTS would get you a *Free* invite to NWO Beta.
    Bull
Nothing is free you LTSs have been used to fund this game instead of STO.
I for one have only ever played the First NWN and even though NWO may be a good game. I'm not going to waste my time getting another Cryptic game on my PC
STO is the only thing I will play and even then it seems more and more like work so maybe I will stop playing that soon as well and go back to ST Bridge Commander
