What the Klingons need most is a fun way to get from level 6 to 10. I liked the idea someone had where we tell the Klingon side of the series that the Feds went through. So they kidnap Miral Paris, etc. That would get new Klingons up to the weekly episodes and more things to do.

Oh, and time travel? Keep it in, absolutely. The best films and many of the best episodes had time travel as a major part, and we'd love more of it. I'd love to see ancient Q'onos, along with missions taking the Feds to ancient Rome and the like.

Klingons need much more on the House vs. House thing. The only problem I have with it is that the House of Duras does not command the respect of the House of Martok by players who have seen the shows concerning them. You probably can't make an open teaming house vs. house line without Martok having the lion's share of the players. So make the House of Duras NPC only and the Klingon missions are in fighting the House battle for supremacy. Political intrigue, assassination attempts, betrayal, lots of good story mining ideas there.

Just wanted to start a thread in here to see what you guys might want to see in the way of KDF PVE missions...

If you could make the perfect KDF mission, what would you make? :)

    Gozer

There are a TON of fed missions where the Feds fight Klingons. Why not Flip those from the Klingons perspective? For example, the missions including Miral Paris and the augments have gaps in between them that can lend themselves well for Klingon content.
On the Feds side you help repell an attack on the ship Miral was on AFTER she has already been kidnapped. For Klingons, you could BE the party the abducts her. There are missions that talk about how the Klingons have stolen materials to create Augments. For Klingons, you could be in the raiding party that acquires the materials.
There's a Fed mission where you go back in time to prevent Klingons from altering the timeline. For Klingons you could be that party that heads back in time first and through deeds of courage and strength prove to the Klingons in the past that you ARE who you say you are and that you have nothing but the best intentions of the empire at heart, BEFORE the Feds from the future come in to stop you.
There's the battle of P'jem that can also be told from the Klingons POV and there could be a whole bunch of Klingon v Undine missions.

Who can forget the Romulans? Klingons have a deep hatred of them that could translate GREAT for combat missions.

You can also use the True Way and the new Dominion. The new Dominion and True way are underpowered and outnumbered. A story line can be created where they attempt to steal from the Klingons (perhaps cloaking tech) and you have to track down the thieves and stop them at all cost before they can use the tech. Then you have to make an example of the True Way and the new Dominion so that no one else will get it in their heads to steal from the empire.

A "mission" where one can capture an enemies faction ship, have to disable it, fight your way through the remaining crew on board and take the ship over. And most importantly keep the ship after wards. A spoil of war, a personal trophy of your warrior prowess etc.

Missions that let us explore the other races in the KDF,
orion could be that you have to deal with their slavery, make it more or an RP type of mission, maybe where you have the option, don't force it on the player, to run the mission from the perspective of the slave, infiltration comes to mind.

naussicaan could be done similiar, maybe as exchange captain to train a crew in the way of the empire, bring them from undisipled pirates to honorable warriors. multipart mission. Or simpler you are send on board the ship to help in klingon understanding of their partner, doing raids into other factions territories etc.

Gorn, flesh out the forfathers of the gorn, maybe some science slanted mission to dig into their past, what motivates them etc. Of course the medling feds think its thier right to know and keep the knowledge from us.

Continue the Fek'ihiri arc, why did they came back and how? the last existing mission hinted at another parties involvement. continue there. Add some legendary rewards, its the klingon epic after all. How about something like touched by darkness, an accolade that unlocks parts in the tailor that hold fek'ihri styled body modifications, showing that you where in hell and back, like tattoos, the ravengers finger nails for females, distorted faces, special scares etc.

Let us do raids into Romulan space and bust them up, maybe instead of destroying the borg tech, we try to steal it etc.
Or as part of our campaign against the undine so we can discover that the supernova was part of the larger picture against the alpha quadrant.

war missions against federation outposts, ships, fleets etc.
Let us attack ESD, capture it to capture the undine infiltrators inside and in the end it gets blown up, make it a fleet action for us, in the style of the sb24 fleet action. Heck let us have sb24 as fleet action as well, trying to capture the star base.

undine, explore our campaign against the undine.

house vs house fights, let us dethrone j',mpok so that we can have house martok back in the seat..

Raid the planet instead of aid the planet missions in the exploration clusters,
Let us bombard planets from orbit, change the exploration missions where we have to destroy weapon caches to raid them, instead og blowing perfectly good weapons up.

Change the tribble extermination missions to deliver some comic relife, from passiv piles of tribble to swarms of bouncing around tribbles that devore everything in their paths like locus on crack.

Well for starters, more Orion slavegirls. Then some more Orion slavegirls. A space battle. More Orion slavegirls. A little ground skirmish. More Orion slavegirls. And to end it all: Orion slavegirl harem. Yep that's what I'd like to see in a KDF PvE mission :D

    Gozer

    Missions where I could actually fail at;

    1) escorting a military convoy from one place to another without undue losses.
    2) A strike mission where I'm to destroy an enemy cargo convoy.
    3) A behind enemy lines mission thats has me attacking both space and ground installations to achieve victory.
    4) A conquer the planet mission, instead of aid the planet.

You have two successful models already: "Bringing Down the House" and, more importantly, "Second Star on the Right."

What I want the most are missions that are structured like "Second Star on the Right." Name some McGuffin that some enemy faction has; Feds, Romulans, Terran Empire, Borg, whoever. Let me bombard one of their bases or lay siege to one of their capital ships, then let me beam a raiding party (not an "away team," that bit of Fed nomenclature really needs to go away on the Klingon side) into their base or onto their ship, and let us slaughter our way to the McGuffin and bring it back in triumph.

What I want even less than that of is woo-woo. The whole Fek'hiri series felt to me like I was playing an entirely different game, one where fat half-naked man-demons and buxom TRIBBLE she-demons and zombies and ghosts are common enemies. Yes, I know that Star Trek had woo-woo episodes, as far back as "Catspaw." But let's not do any more of that, ever again, okay?

This. 100% this. I play this game for Star trek. If I wanted demons and zombies I'd be playing something else. I'm not. No more of this nonsense!

    Let us go forth conquering!

I would love to see more raid type content where we go off to burst federation mooks and steal the sparkly things.

Specifically I really enjoyed getting into a runabout, but would like to see mission content that exploited this feature further. For whatever reason I would love to be transported somewhere in a massive ship and interract with people aboard the ship, maye a story driven mission. The end feature shoudl involbe getting into a fighter and joining the swarm to fight a Borg tactical cube or something.

In general though, I agree with nmos of the otehr comments here. Give us some stuff with a real Klingon feel to it. Build our backstory, add some more NPCs new to the STO timeline and build them up so we feel we start to know them.

AND GIVE US HOIUSES!!! I don;t wanna work for the same house as everyone else.

First, I'll throw my hat into the ring as one of those who enjoyed the Fek'Ihri arc, and wouldn't mind seeing a follow-up one bit.

Another thing I'd like to see are missions revolving around the Federation/Klingon war. Specifically, I'd like to see complementary missions for both factions - say, a Klingon mission in which you attack a starbase, and a Federation mission in which you defend that starbase from the Klingon attack.

It's funny you mention that, I'm pretty sure that the STO team have been recently discussing ways in which they could tweak Starbase 24 so that both the KDF and Starfleet players could run through it, at some point in the future.

Starbase 24 is exactly what you have described, but KDF player obviously can not run the SB 24 mission at present, were you thinking about having this scenario somewhere closer to the Klingon Empires space?

I would think the most obvious enemy that the klingons haven't seen any of in PvE would be the romulans.

An assault on a romulan world might nice, a sort of revenge for Khitomer. Heck, with Khitomer apparently being reclaimed by the klingons, it might even be appropriate to use it as a staging ground for an invasion of romulan territory.

That in turn might be a nice starting point to furthering "The House Always Wins" storyline, perhaps in the invasion information is discovered that shows that the House of Torg is still working with the romulans and influencing the Klingon Empire with whatever hooks he has in, or favours that might be owed to him from, other klingon Houses, leading to so more klingon-on-klingon civil war action.

    3) Have at least SOME story about either Gorn, Orion or Nausicain resistance to KDF rule. SOmeone has to be mad.

I like this. My general concept for my Orion character is that she's not terribly loyal to the Empire, though she does find it useful at times. The Empire as depicted in the game is rather unique in that it has a number of sub-factions which probably don't like each other very much, and I agree that there are probably stories to come out of that.

My pie-in-the-sky wish is that we would be able to choose the side opposed to the Empire for some of these missions. Probably tough to implement, but great fun if you could make it happen.

I also think some more sectors need to be opened up so that the Klingons and Romulans share a common border at some point. I believe that they do, canonically - ditto for the Klingons and Cardassians. I want to see missions where we push into their space, not drive them out of star clusters.

Or if not them, one or more of the other subject species.

In the exploration missions, we find out that the Boktians, Crimtoi, Dref (Dreves?), Glentikans, Kenshek, Kibo Cri'boxen, Mek-Meks, Rinketians, Scoodians, Se'Reilians, Starlians, Strekkelan, Vito'D, Widrab, Zantil, and possiby the Beyentic are all either allies of or subjects of the Klingon Empire. A nice multi-step episode somewhere in there, where we do more to put down a rebellion than beating up five speechless groups of armed resisters, would be a nice touch.

    For example:

Act 1: Routine patrol to a Se'Reilian colony reveals hostile Se'Reilian ships in orbit who open fire on our ship(s); destroy them all. Act 2: Beam down to the colony, discover the government building is in flames and rioters are running amok in the streets, defeat 5 spawns of rioters, click to collect fire extinguisher, extinguish fires on the outside of the building. Act 3: Enter the government building, put out more fires and fight the rebels all the way to the governor's office. When you get to the barricaded door, the head of the rebels demands you enter, alone and unarmed, to negotiate. Act 4: Fail to talk the head of rebellion into surrendering, defeat him in unarmed combat. Act 5: Rejoin your away team, outside, see cowering rebels being held at gunpoint by your away team. Click on a nearby broken-off flagpole to impale the rebel leader's body on a spike: rebellion over. Beam out, contact J'mpok, receive reward.

Here is a little more elaboration of what I would like, but I'm going to start with a suggestions of some resources first.

The IKS Gorkon book series is fantastic. I just finished reading them and I have to say that this would be a great starting place for your mission designers to get a feel for good Klingon content. I know who ever wrote the timeline has read them, but I'm not sure if your mission designers have.

Now for content, the perfect content to add is Romulan and if designed using forethought you can get a two for one deal out of these missions by designing them so they can be played from the Romulan point of view later when you release that faction.

In fact, there are so many possible Romulan plots that could be visited that there are probably 10 episodes of potential Romulan content alone. As Dstahl mentioned there is the question of the young Duras house heir and his possible ties to the Romulans. There are questions of what happened to those left behind at Carraya IV, there are question revolving around the destruction of the Klingon fleet by Nero (it appears you can use Countdown stuff since you used Data coming back and being Capt. of the Enterprise).

There is also the entire thread of the lead up to the war between the Klingons and the Gorn. The intrigue about the Udine infiltration of top positions throughout the galactic powers. I can only guess that whoever wrote the timeline had some ideas for how and why the Klingons appear to be the ones pursuing this so feverishly. In fact, any missions that help flesh out how and why the Klingons decide to go to war with the Federation would be wonderful.

As someone else pointed out, you did such wonderful jobs on missions like "The House Always Wins" and "Second Star to the Right" that I think most of us have confidence that once you do make new missions they will be great missions. We just want them now :D

Be sure to read "A Burning House", too! It's actually part of the series, even though it has traded its "IKS Gorkon" moniker for the more general "Klingon Empire".

An excellent detail view right into the heart of Klingon culture. :)

For a more humorous mission line, I think the player should be contacted by the Klingon Biohazard Division -Tribble Eractication Division. Something like hunt down and kill 25 tribbles on the planet and kill them. Maybe have a "boss" battle with a Bio-Engineered Giant Tribble.

Another idea is have the player face off against Section 31. Create an older mentor character that gets dishonorably killed, like say Section 31 blows up his ship, and the player swears revenge. Could be integrated into some evil stuff that Section 31 is cooking up. Robot army or something like that. A total affront to Klingon Honor of using machines to fight your battles for you.

Reading all these ideas, I really can't wait for the UGC thingy to come out. I'm glad Gozer is going to make an Orion slavegirl mission as per my suggestion *cough cough* but I wouldn't mind playing these other ideas as well. Love em!

Oh btw, heard ingame that there's going to be some multifaction content coming out in Season 3 where KDF and Fed can band up, any truth in that? Would make for some very interesting missions if you ask me.

There is one multi-faction content already in the game right now - the Undine/Fluid Space Fleet Action.

The possibility for more has been mentioned, but I don't think we have any schedule or actual details yet.

Cryptics should be making more use of what already exists.

Get DS9 and all major space stations into PvP but with the approach that Starbase 24 has, ability to beam down or fight in space. Results of both combined for the team.

Get shuttles into a raid where 4 protect the shuttle as it docks in a borg cube, Janeway was good at that.

Make it possible to beam down to all planets even if the objectives are basic i.e. in Ker'rat during the 3 min cool down, beam down and have a challenge to kill 5 elite borg in the 3 minutes.

Have an instance where the Gamma fleet actually have to defend the gate, that would be a cool battle and it makes use of the gate.

Continue the storyline started with the House of Martok:

Have the allies of Jm'pok try to bring down the House of Martok again utilizing Romulan assistance. Follow the connection with your allies in the House of Martok all the way to the House of Duras (again as they betrayed the Empire to the Romulans twice before) where you have the option of believe Jm'pok when he claims to have known nothing of Ja'rad's actions (who isn't present yet) or assume he is complicit in the treachery and kill him.

If you choose to kill Jm'pok then it is revealed that he and Ja'rad are both Undine infiltrators and that the real Ja'rad was killed almost 15 years ago while he was on leave and that they've have been working to bring the powers of the quadrant down for years. When you succeed you are technically the new Chancellor, however since you are a soldier at heart you elect to pass the power onto Drex son of Martok

If you choose not to kill Jm'pok then Drex will challenge Jm'pok before the entire council and Jm'pok will be unable to refuse. During the fight Drex lands a critical blow that forces Jm'pok to change back into his natural Undine form, and noticing that it's all on the line, Ja'rad and allies join in the fight against you. When the day is won, Drex is the new Chancellor.

I'd like to see KDF missions that brought out the lore of other species aside from the Klingons:
    Klingon Defense Force Missions:
    I. Qo'noS (Klingon)
As a start, have 1 mission per grade in the outdoor map. This would be near the First City, surrounding the outskirts of the Old Quarter and heading into the Hamar Mountains. The missions don't need to be long - just enough variety of them to make the world feel alive (and to supplement the content already available).

Some examples of appropriate missions: ( --| Qo'nos Images - see right hand side |-- )

Gorn Homeworld (Gorn) Nausicaa (Nausicaan) Contributors: LotD, Bracknell
    Example missions:

Orion (Orion) - Thanks goes to capulet
Shopping galore with prices so low their criminal
    Slave market (Boff vender)
Raiding supply convoy/slave capture side missions

I would like to see less tribble killing explores...but then again..I do want a tribble killing accolade. As well, I would like to see missions where we could (this could be a daily repeatable) have a system to conquer...The feds have claimed such and such a system, claim it for the empire. We go have a space battle, go and kill the feds on the ground. Get some tech or weapon reward for it.. We could also have an orbital space bombardment...The strength of our bombardment will take away from the fed defenses we will face on the ground...perhaps we could go the way of a KDF only STF with this mission idea??? :D

That is, seeing how we cannot team with feddies it seems only fair...lol.

Sorry i couldnt elaborate friday. Who gives a question like this on fridays?
I am glad everyone like my idea about the kdf taking over all these different legit governments and within a decade not only does everything seem to have even out but they are running kdf military ships.
    The kdf isn't starfleet.
If cryptic wants to go that route that it is one big happy family, that is fine. But they have to explain why independent states over hundreds of years don't mind beig vassal states.
If I was a nausicain on a kdf ship as captain over quonos, it would take me a whole 10 seconds to contemplate warp speed to the "great hall".
Let's say they are honorable enough species that they can be trusted.
The entire species? Starfleets section 31 can't convince one person to be a double agent?
There must be an explanation as to why people who must have had lighter pockets because of their governments surrender didn't rise up.
If cryptic realizes that there is a flaw in the kdf story, then you could create a huge arc (as a weekly series that the Feds can be part of).
    Story
Very light sabotage has been reported on kdf ships.
Now shutdown of the computer systems of a kdfshipyard.
Kdf needs to know if this is foreign governments(fed, romulan, or undine) or internal.

Long posts w ith an iPhone are awesome.
Anyways, the Feds side of this will be to try to "recruit" the sabatours.
The end result of this could easily be left obscure because, let's say it is a race in the kdf, it isn't like you could remove them from the kdf.
