hey, something I just noticed during play, and I'm not sure if its been noted in this thread, but the defiant bridge ship status panel is skewed.
    http://imgur.com/a/utRMp

Apologies, this thread is for ship model issues only. The reasons: The interior designers are not the same group as the exterior designers, who are the ones who (hopefully still) check this thread. It's better to focus on just one aspect per thread (hence why I created an entirely separate thread for uniforms). There is no room left for non-ship-model issues on the front page, where you would look to see if anything was mentioned.

guess i should add more to the refit then :p
    couple of things really.

    1. the back of the bridge is missing its docking port in game, instead this is an oddly angled piece and offsets the look of the entire area on the model
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/-Jes-/STOFix/cSTMPent13.jpg

    2. on the deflector dish area there are only 2 of the bumps (where the fed flags are on the sides) the bottom one is MIA on the game model.
    http://i.imgur.com/bFRMV.jpg

    3. lower planetary sensor dome is inaccurate to the movie model.
    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1998.JPG

    4. forward part of the nacelles is missing the "T" bar across the upper front end, and the light on the back of that stretch.

http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1813.JPG (light can seen here, its the bump on the top there)

    5. the flux grills(? i think) have a big wall in front of them on the game model, this wall should be almost smooth with the nacelle. the color is also more of a burnt copper on the filming model, and a solid black on the in game.

    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1876.JPG

    6. this one can be debated, but in reality, and it can be seen, the outboard of the nacelles aren't only not lit, they're actually silver in color. Apparently camera's like to make it pretty dark and appear greyish, and for the movies they used filters that altered the colors further (hence the grey strongbacks instead of engineering green (TMP-ST3) or blue (ST4-6)
    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_2057.JPG
    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1869.JPG

    7. its (game model) also missing a LOT of detail around the shuttle bay area among it is the ship name.
    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1880.JPG
    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1883.JPG

    8. the lower part of the saucer comes up and sits level, on the studio is came up a little more then flared at the outside.
    http://www.mutara.net/Christies/detail%20models/Enterprise%20A/IMG_1983.JPG

its also missing a host of other details (maneuvering thrusters on the outter edges of the saucer and on the deflector housing) but i'm gonna shutup now :)

i prob wouldn't know this stuff tbh if i haven't been lurking an ST modeling forum for some time :p
i LOVE the work those guys do, and pale by far with my own. but the Refit was/is a major topic of discussion, especially in the way of corrections for accurateness.

tbh there a LOT of things on these ships i could prob point out if i weren't to lazy and really went at it due to that :p
the Galaxy is prob the only one i just haven't bothered to study much. that and the sov have 2 known configurations that really stick out (aside from the NX excel and the production NCC excel)

This probably does not belong here but I noticed something new on the underside of some of my ships. Might be an issue with my graphics card but in the second picture you will notice the striations on the underside of the saucer are missing from the galaxy next door.

Funny thing is the striations always run the same way no matter the rotation of the ship. Even on that other old school ship where the striations are faintly visible on the underside of the hull.

I noticed it on the Intrepid as well but failed to load a screenie to Photobucket.

    .

i think your right saying its the vid card, that looks like a lighting/shadow error.
is it there when you turn off the shadows?

It's a HD5830 card and no all the goodies, including the shadow effects, are on. It's weird because it does not happen on all my ships and only seems to happen near stars in sector space. Only started to happen after a recent patch too.

IDK if its been mentioned yet, but the Galaxy refit, one with saucer separation, on the monarch neck piece the saucer attachment point is off centered slightly to the right. It's more noticeable with the monarch saucer with the monarch neck, the line that goes all the way down the back of the ship is "broken" where it attaches the saucer with the neck. And because its off centered a bit there is a slight gap where saucer attaches to the neck on the far right (circled).

Sorry for the small picture and lousy description, I'm tired lol

I've got one more for ya... I apologize if you've already covered them (as I really dont want to go through all 106 pages, lol)

Warp Pylons on Galaxy Class (retrofit, not sure if it's on the Tier 3 ship). There is more definition at the support structure of the warp nacelle at the top of the warp pylon. In game. Cannon.

Great list, btw and keen eye!

The arts forum is there: http://forums.startrekonline.com/forumdisplay.php?f=216

I think this thread should be moved there. It could be even possible to split it apart a little for the different issues, as the post lenght limitations proved to be problematic in the past. Of course, that is only a good idea if the new threads also get a sticky status.

Good news! Every error listed in this thread has been posted on the first page. Also on the first page, in the very first post, it gives you this and other basic information about the thread.

Agree this should move to the new Art forum. Might be useful as a sticky but really why are we reporting this stuff on the forums for it to get lost instead of as tickets (to be ignored?)?

The lights on the vorcha are too big, too few, and make the ship look a lot smaller than it should.

Hi i've noticed some errors with the reconnaissance science vessel, using the sol saucer and polaris aft section:

    1. Dorsal saucer section obstructs ship name

    http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...9-09-10-52.jpg

    2. Distinct lack of AEGIS set effects on the aft sections of the ship. I want my blue lines!

    http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...9-09-11-00.jpg

    3. Lighting mismatch on the ventral saucer section

Apologies for not reading through 107 pages of posts to see if this has been mentioned.

CapnLogan, this has been bothering me and I hope you can fix it. On the Sovereign saucer, the impulse engine glow is visible through the hull on the bottom.

    Screenshot

That's a pretty thin hull. It gets worse when you're moving (as the glow gets bigger).

You should still read the first post, though. All errors mentioned are listed on the first page.

Your error has not been listed, so I will try to make room on the first page. Thank you very very much for using imgur. :) (Imgur allows us to crop, zoom, rotate, flip, etc your image and gives us a nice short url for keeping the bulk of the first page down. There is also an imgur firefox add on that lets us right click and upload, upload and edit, upload and share, upload a screenshot, upload a selective screenshot, or upload from the clipboard.)

IIRC, the ship registry problem was fixed, but you had to go to the ship customizer and change the appearance once in order for that fix to take effect.

There has always been a work around by going into the customiser. I do still see the occasional ship that has the registry error.

I suppose, since it doesn't appear that it is ever going to be fixed because of the work around, I should remove it. Hmmmmmm.

I think that was the fix. Similar to how the gorn are going to have 2 versions, so long as the previos gorn never change uniforms.

It may be a limitation on the software/programming that they have to do it that way.

Maybe adding a note about the work around is best. Keeping the note as a "bug"

Unfortunately, due to the limited space, I cannot add the note about the fix. Once more of the errors are fixed (or it is stated that they will never be addressed), then I can add additional data.

Went through the previous incarnation of the Starship Model errors and issues thread and updated the current version with issues listed after -Jes- discontinued updating.

If I've missed anything please do let me know.

    Hey!
    Great job with the list!
Just a few things with the Intrepid model:

On the long range science vessel (Intrepid), there is some missing paint themes/hull markings
    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/bottommarkings-1.jpg
    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/missingpainttop.jpg

In profile, the the ship hull shape is wrong in three places.

    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/Intrepidprofilecomparison.jpg
    1. Under the saucer
    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/SAUCERHULL.png
Also the saucer needs some serious smoothing,
    2. The primary hull
    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/hullwrongshape.jpg
    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/Primaryhull.jpg
    3. and the fan tail of the ship should stick out further.

    4. the nacelles, the vertical vents after the bussard collectors should not glow like the collectors due, they should simply be copper colored.
    http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/lancemikemack/nacelle.jpg

There are also grill like structures on the back of the nacelles that shouldn't be there.

Unfortunately, I am so low on space on the front pages, that I cannot add your updates unless I have quite a lot of issues listed that are now obsolete and can be deleted. I have tried making space, but I'm afraid that the number of issues you've listed is just too much, even if I re-host them at imgur and don't add any text descriptions to your imgages.

Didn't see this in the list of errors, although I believe Cryptic is already at least aware of the problem.

Starboard impulse trail on the Noble-class Assault Cruiser saucer is larger than the port impulse trail. It's not usually immediately noticeable, but is much more apparent when using Full Impulse/Evasive Maneuvers, and is made very obvious with the use of the Aegis Impulse Engines visual effect.

Don't have any screenshots handy at the moment, unfortunately, they seem to have disappeared on me.

Is it me or has the T5 Excelsior retrofit wap trail been addressed?... If I am not mistaken, the impulse engines when in warp...the exhaust or trail (w/e) goes through the nacelles when traveling in a straight line....That problem is compounded when using the Borg engines....or is that me?

forgot to update the thread but i fixed this:
Prometheus: Lower hull side by side STO vs Canon

    for Alexraptor.

Sorry for not dropping in here more often... but I'm in the process of making some new variants and when I do so, I'm gonna try to check this page and do a few fixes if I come across one that needs it.

I won't be able to address EVERY issue on the front page, but if it's something that I can do reasonably quickly and without breaking any of our rules I'll surely do it. If I can afford the time, of course.

1 man team now... makes things really hard for me.

Also I wanted to drop some concept sketches I'm working on.
