This might sound like a silly complaint, but I get a little annoyed that i have a tiny Defiant Class ship, (which I love) but when I go into the ships interior, I have a captians quarters that is so insanely huge that it would take up a huge portion of the ship interior if it were to scale... and the hallways are ginormous... I wish that we could maybe have some selections of interiors? I know it was designed with useability in mind, but it just seems too big. it be nice even, if I could just change it, and if someone else wants to have a ship interior that couldn't possibly fit into a tiny escort? that's cool, but it seems a bit of an inconsistancy to me.

There is an option in the ship customization to change the layout between small, medium, and large versions... but it only changes where things are, not their crazy size.

    As seen here: http://i.imgur.com/IepoY.jpg

I posted a few months ago and noticed the model error still wasn't fixed in game.

Just wanted to put it out there - again... Thanks.

Might seem like a silly complaint, but my Defiant class vessel is about 1/8 the size it should be, compared to Deep Space Nine. Watching the show, the source material, the Defiant nose would fit snugly in one of the docking ports along the DS9 outer ring. But, it's super tiny. I think DS9 is too large.

This may have been brought up before, but the size of DS9 changed throughout the series, depending on the ships that were docking at the time. The defiant itself has length issues, and has been reported in multiple sources with varying lengths.

It's still on the first page. Lots and lots of issues are still on the front page that have been there since launch.

Yeah, I saw that... Was hoping it would maybe catch the eye(s) of someone internally. Wishful thinking, I know LOL... :p

    Thanks though.

this page is on the radar of the devs.. the 2 guys that do ships are busy now, but they try to get to the issues in this tread when they can.

one thing i wanted to point out is that the "paint job" options on the ships have items that dont seem to do anything, or they are just messy. as in the "orion" "aquarius" and so on options.

for example, on my galaxy and now nebula, the saucer options on some are very very similar...they could use a good rehash to give more variety... half the nacelle options seemingly do nothing

this may be a problem on quite a few ships. might be something to look at here and there for overall improvement. this problem seems to be even more messy and/or lacking on the klingon side as well

also on the new chochran and discovery textures for intrepid variants... the weapon "pimple" is overlapping the shuttlebays. also the topedo tubes seem to get blocked by the saucers underside.. (i think that part was already mentioned tho)

I'm sure the Nebula will get a sound shakedown as the models usually do, but I noticed a couple glaring things playing with it this evening.

    1) If selecting the nebula pylons, the ships name and registry should show. However, if selecting the magellan saucer, the name and registry disappear from the pylons. You too can recreate this: Select a stock nebula in the shipyard. Pick a side view, and swap the saucers. Poof!

    2) If you select the stock magellan template, the UFP logo suddenly goes red!

Without getting too into it this evening. I am a little concerned about the busy-ness of the top of the magellan saucer. There are a LOT of windows and escape pods. On the flip side (literally) the underside of the magellan saucer is awfully vacant. The nebula has the nice carryover details from the galaxy.

I do think (what appears to be) a cross-sectional shuttlebay on the magellan saucer is a cool idea. I'm totally choosing that saucer when it becomes available on holodeck. I like the magellan variant, nice work. I'll be kitbashing pieces from both templates.

I know. Was just being my obnoxious self :-P

Most of the ships in the game look really good overall. Some just need a touch up with the hull/saucer matching really, that's all.

Hats off to the dev team. Doing the detailed work that this IP demands can't be easy. But they probably love it!

I noticed the primary weapons on the Mogai for the romulans is firing from the nacelles. it should be firing from the tips of the wings just outside the nacelles

    Credit to -Jes-

    Akira
    1. Torpedoes seem to be firing from everywhere BUT the ventral weapon nacelle. Normal torpedoes seem to launch from the bow and heavy plasmas / rear torpedoes launch from somewhere beneath the ship.
    2. Impluse Engines
      A) The impulse engines on the twin primary hulls are the wrong shape.
      B) The impulse engines on the saucer are missing.
    3. Saucer Section
      A) Indentations for windows/port-starboard torpedo tubes are missing.
      B) Dorsal phaser array should not be broken in the center. It should span the entire forward saucer.
    4. Nacelles
      A) Inner Nacelles should be solid, not lit.
      B) Nacelle "RAM Scoops" are missing.

Fixed. Should show up on Tribble in the next patch or two.

    Thanks.

    Oooooh, much loooove! ^.^

Think I can sneak a "Akira class does not have a retrofit variant" in? :3

    =edit=

D'oh! I forgot to mention the aft shuttlebays and forward observation windows. >.< Let me see if I can't find some detail shots.

    =edit=

For now, here are some of the art shots of the Akira. From artwork to actual design, these images barely changed:

http://www.starshipdatalink.net/art/images/da-4.gif Forward observation windows; possible they were originally intended to be launch tubes for fighters as the Akira was originally intended to be a carrier.

    http://www.starshipdatalink.net/art/images/da-5.jpg Aft shuttle bays

    Above taken from: http://www.starshipdatalink.net/art/akira.html

    http://stdarkfate.craigcurtis.us/images/stsfc2364AkiraM.jpg (Numbered shuttlebays evident)

    http://www.trekmania.net/the_fleet/utopia/fleet/akira05.jpg (Forward observation windows evident)

http://www.trekmania.net/the_fleet/utopia/fleet/akira04.jpg (Dorsal and ventral torpedo tubes evident on dorsal weapon nacelle)

I'll add those to the first page a little later on after I make some room. :)

Galaxy class retrofit model. The animation where the saucer reconnects back to the main hull only shows the galaxy saucer instead of the majestic saucer if customized as one. really wierd when u see it and then when it connects it shows the majestic...hope you can fix that too

If you're using the Tier 5 Excelsior, and use the original "Search For Spock" hull, the yellow starfleet pennant is chopped in half, with the lower half missing.

I noticed a change to the strut impulse engines on Tribble, but not the other changes. I'm hoping it gets the Luna quality overhaul!

This has been made known to the devs on many occasions in many different threads.

Should be in one or two patches, but I'm really hoping for a luna quality overhaul, too. The ship really really needs some close up detail; it's one of the most detailed ships designed for Trek (To be seen up close) and one of the first radical departures from the classic trek ship shapes. It really deserves first class treatment.

I'm really hoping they use Alex Jaeger's concept art for reference, since the ship barely changed at all from concept drawings to CG screen model.

I know it was mentioned before. But the dual beam banks fired from galaxy/nebula saucer shoot from edge of the saucer, but they should shoot from dorsal and ventral phaser strips of the saucer. The current situation looks very stupid.

Dev Team there is more missing detail to the Sovereign Class there is one detail on the upper saucer and most on the Ventral side. If you can get these added that will be great and the sovereign will be complete to me eyes.

Other than that I thank you for fixing the other errors that the other players have seen and now I get to play the sovereign my self since the changes and I am happy and once these get fixed I will be even happier

    Dorsal
    Missing Detail and Move windows

    Ventral
    Missing Detail and Windows
Section needs to be moved in and Windows added

Blue Prints what they should look
    Dorsal
    Ventral

Edit: I manage to get a pic of the sovereign on the movie nemesis showing the CGI model with the windows that were missing on the STO Sovereign.

I have Marked the squares were the windows are

    Great catch!

However, I'm running very short on space on the front page; so, for now, I'll have to leave these on this page until more of the first page's errors are cleared away. (Unless it's possible for a moderator to insert a few empty posts on the first page into which I can expand the error list. ;) )

Once I clear space, I'll post that I've done so. Perhaps you could repost some higher resolution shots, then, that I can put on the first page. :)

Won't be able to get good high res photos on the movie version but the only way is from a model I gotten which is a perfectly a replica of the CGI Nemesis Sovereign but I will have to install my software to show ya some nice high res photos of the ventral saucer.

Good news! I've got lots of high res shots on the first page! ^.^

    =edit=

The only problem is that the model shots come from the German site ST Bilder, which has a tendency to shrink the pictures. The full size pictures are often on their servers and are sometimes massive, however they will always shrink them down for the little java (I think) slideshow style picture viewer. The only way to pull the high res pics would be to pull one of those slideshow pics up and look at the page source. After that you just have to find the list of JPGs within the source and see which one you want. It's a bit tedious and would require me to set up some sort of account somewhere to contain all of the pictures as a gallery, also tedious. :p

Just in case no one noticed, the new Vor'Cha model went live on Tribble in the recent Nebula update .. presumably accidently since its quite heavily bugged. But even with the buggs (which include buggy customisation) it looks freakin awesome :)

I looked looks great but not showing the ventral of the sovereign except the schematics version :P

Theirs also a model of the sovereign made for an old Game called Bridge Commander and someone added the latest model of the sovereign and its Called CG Sovereign found on BCfiles feel free to check that out.

He has been doing a lot of research on the sovereign to make it like the Nemesis Model so its a good model for reference on the sovereign Star Trek Online.

If you select any hull color besides 2, the additonal things (center pylon, added pieces to the tops of the warp engines and saucer, spinal cannon) remain hull color 2.
