The full guides will be up soon.
Until then, Enjoy!

Hey thanks now i have a reference guide for later on and those colors are very similar to ones that i picked a lot of them are the color next to the ones I chose for example I use f14 for the blue because of the color settings on my computers monitor and the fact I do not run the game with all settings maxed out.

Hi Black! I was just looking at the newly released 25th century cadet uniforms and it's brought up a couple of questions:
Now that they've been added, will the 25th century cadet uniform guides you created stay available?
If they are staying, will you update them to match the colouring used for the new cadet uniforms or just keep them as they are...or both perhaps?
Thanks again for all your work mate.
Yes, the previously created Cadet versions of the Antares and Sierra uniforms will remain. You may notice that the Antares 01 versions have already been updated to the new style. (In fact all Antares 01 uniforms have been updated.) New additions based on the new color scheme may be added in time.

 Have they? Oh boy, I really let the ball slip on this. I'm usually watching this thread like a hawk. I promise never to slack like that again.
I'll go check those newly updated guides right now and look forward to the updated cadet uniforms guides using the new colours. Thanks for the quick answers!
I've figured out how I'm going to go about doing the Veteran Shoulders for the KDF. As I am creating these for uniforms that already have guides, I have decided to do the Veteran Shoulders similar to the way I created the Details guides for the Feds. Below is an example along with the revised TOS Klingon guide.
Hey, Black, just thought I'd let you know that my STO Main and his Bridge Officers use a Sierra-1 Uniform Variant that might work well as "Alternative Canon" if someone doesn't want to use gray on their uniforms.
Here's the Uniform Layout and Color Scheme:
Top: Sierra-1 (H1, Division Color, H1 [If Male Open Jacket, Undershirt Color is H1]) Division Colors: Command-A7; Science-F8; Engineering-C10 Combadge: Alternate Future (A6, A2) (Can be substituted for any other Combadge) Rank Insignia: A1 Legwear: Pants - Loose Long Standard (H1) Footwear Soft Boots (H1)
I'd be honored if you were to add my layout to the Sierra-1 section as an alternative Variant.

Once I finish updating the guides I will be considering doing additional variants. I've been taking note of some nice Antares and Sierra uniforms on NPCs lately and I really want to add them to the collection. I will gladly take your suggestion as well.
hey, blackavaar, are you ever going to do the bluer versions of the Enterprise uniforms used in the later seasons?
Like I said above, additional variants will be considered once the guides are updated. I've already started taking new screen shots for variants such as the later season ENT and TNG-DS9 era Academy Instructors uniforms.

I look forward to seeing those variants once you're done updating.
Hi again Blackavaar.
How goes the work with the guide updating? All running smoothly for you I hope.
I was wondering if once you're done updating the guides and working on everyone else's requests if you'd consider putting your mind in to creating uniform variants for non-commissioned officers? I hope its something you'll consider pal once you have a free moment or several for yourself.
I look forward to seeing the complete range of updated guides.

Hello, Alan.
All goes well. The guides for all Antares uniforms have been updated to the new style. Sierra 01 uniforms have also been updated. These, however, are still in need of new screen shots and revised UI, since some options are no longer available (Padded Boots for males) and other options now are (Terran Empire badge). I have been working on those screen shots and more over the weekend and will further revise those already revised guides as well as more.
I've got a little surprise I worked on as I was doing the 25th Century stuff that I had simply not thought of before. Keep watching. More updates to come.
Edit: And yes, I will certainly consider doing a selection of Noncom guides.

Glad to hear that things are moving along. I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing the updates guides, your 25th century surprise, and, if you decide to do them, those non-com uniforms.
Got another question for you, Blackavaar, and this is regarding the 25th century badges and rank colours. I notice in your guides the colours chop and change between gold and a sort of silvery kind of colour but in your guides for the actual badges they're all gold. Should they all be gold as your 25th century badge guides specify or Does the colour of the badges and ranks depend on the uniform being worn?
For all my Bridge Officers I have them wearing the Antares 01 with colours all as specified in your guides for them but for my main character (a Vice Admiral) when I have him wearing any uniform outside of the VA jacket such as the Antares 01 uniform I always have his rank and badge in gold (colour box A2) to show he is a flag officer. What do you think about this? Should a VA out in the field, commanding a ship, have such obvious badge and rank colours?

Well, the badges on the uniform guides are done for each specific uniform as it is seen on NPCs in-game. The badge guide is generalized. I just used the color most commonly worn by NPCs, which seems to be A2. So, the individual guides would be most accurate.
And as for an Admiral standing out, it's not like he's walking around on a front line somewhere. The Admiral badge in TMP was gold, while everyone else wore silver. I think standing out fits in with canon very well.

Thanks for responding, bud. By "individual guides" do you mean the uniform guides or the badge guides?
So by drawing on that reference you made to Kirk wearing a gold admirals badge in TMP (albeit one he is wearing on an admirals uniform I think), you don't see it being unreasonable for a 25th century VA to be going out on away teams wearing the same uniform as everyone else except for a gold badge and rank pips to distinguish him? If so, then maybe you could make a wee additional note on your guides to say that Admiral's have option of gold badge and rank insignia for their uniforms?

Cool. I just hope this doesn't mean you're gonna need to go back and redo those guides? I'd hate for you to have to go through all that.
BTW...regarding the cadet uniforms you created shortly before the devs introduced Starfleet Academy and their take on the uniforms...In my mind and continuity I've decided that the ones you created are worn by cadets during their sophomore year posting on-board a starship or starbase. I figure your cadet uniforms would make for more practical and utilitarian wear than the devs' cadet uniforms which are more suited for a cosy classroom in San Francisco.

No problem.
No worries. I had already decided to go back and make some mods because of selection changes. I also wanted to update the screen shots while I was at it.
And that's the same way I consider my 25th Century cadet uniforms. After all, when they are serving on your crew, you would want them to match your crew uniforms.
At this point all Antares plus Sierra 1 and 2 uniforms have been updated. I also mixed in some Skirt variants with the regular uniforms. For those wishing to use pants with those divisional colors just use the selections for the other divisions and color appropriately.
Pay special attention to Antares 5, Sierra 1 and the Elite Force uniforms (in the Soft Canon/Fan Choice section) as the boot selections for these have changed. The previous boot selections, Padded are no longer available for males and Bulky Tall are no longer available for females. Hopefully these will be corrected at some point, but folks using the guides shouldn't have to wait.
The AGT uniforms have been added to the Canon Uniform Guide for easy reference.
The VOY Drive Flight Suit can also be found on the Cadets, Technicians and Thugs Guide.
I hope you all like them.
Enjoy!
Thank you very much for this. The AGT alternate future outfit is probably one my favorites. Used your color guides on two characters and their BOffs (save for my Borg, my borg wear T'pol's outfit.).
Thanks for doing all of this, this is an immense help and great resource!

Ah, so you were heading back to the guides anyway.
Sounds like we're on the same wavelength regarding your cadet uniforms. It does make sense that they should match the uniforms worn by ship officers. Now, if only the devs will let us do something about allowing us to adjust the uniforms of the crewmembers wandering through the ship corridors I'll be very happy.
Congrats on the latest updated uniform guides! They look great! I have several of the uniforms you've updated for the boot selection changes for my main character so I'll be adjusting them just as soon as I can.
I was just wondering...do we know if the devs have any plans to give BOFF's more uniform slots? I'd love to go back and replay the mission where you need to go back to the 23rd century but what puts me off is having to re-buy TOS uniforms for my away team. I'd much rather have the option of changing the uniforms for my away team as easily as I can for my main character without having to dosh out the credits for them.

And yes, I love the new color coding. Makes it all the more faster to duplicate your patterns.
