There are still alot of bugs in the game just take a look in the forums and you will find tons of reported bugs and stuff that dont work...
Ah yeah "support" would be nice too tickets that dont get responded after 2 weeks or longer shouldnt be allowed to call themself support.

Just get current issues done before starting new stuff!
First you are seriously overstating the case. Second different teams work on different things. That amazing ability allows companies to multitask. That means that Cryptic can add new things and fix all these "bugs" you claim are making the game unplayable.

I am not a fan of death penalties, it usually results in some form of xp debt. I have never been a fan of seeing forward progress go away. It has caused me to quit many mmo's. Not to bring up WoW but they really have no death penalty and it seems to be just fine.

I just hope that the death penality isn't TOO penalizing. I hope they start with something light and not something DRASTIC.

More playable factions, Yes please! I can't wait for that.

"Raidisodes" are only 5 man? :( Was hoping for something abit.. Bigger. Not 40 man, God no! But maybe 10. Or maybe something akin to a fleet action, but more team set..

It would eventually be cool if Fleets could have their own.. Star Bases.. or Some form of a "Guild House" set up. Something customizable. Maybe similar to the Super Group base set up from City of Heroes/villians maybe? Sure we could all just meet on one guy's bridge. But I wouldn't mind something abit different.

So the tribble is finally getting his excersize wheel eh? ;)

I hope the new changens to memory alpha are also crafting changes. I'd love to be able to upgrade items in a better way then we have right now. It would also be nice if we could also actually CRAFT items. I mean sure it's technically crafting, but the way it is now I'd like something abit more. I'd also like to not have to farm Fleet actions just to get Items I need in order to get to the next tier of "Crafting".

More Klingon ships? Yes PLEASE! Can we also have more Klingon outfits? How about the Orion "Slave girl" outfit for the women? Maybe even a "Thong" outfit for the men? (I know, I don't like the Idea either, but I had to suggest it to be...neutral)

And where is Quark on DS9? I haven't read anything yet to suggest he would be dead..

Also MOAR voice overs! I was disappointed that the "State of Q" mission didn't have one. Anything with Q should have some form of a Voice over. Always!

It would also be nice if STO wasn't also ST: Now loading. There's got to be a way to remove Loading from Sector to sector. Or even from System to system. And room to room in Star bases (DS9, Sol, DSK7) Perhaps a better System for the sector map.. Something with perhaps Models that you can see before you get there on what the system looks like.

I'd also like to be able to move farther around on DS9 then just that circle of the promanade and a few rooms linked to it. Makes DS9 feel small.

I'd also like to be able to go into the Captian's Office of DS9 just to be able to see Sisko's Baseball still sitting on his desk, waiting for him to return. :)

And why isn't there a Hologram of Morn in Quarks?! He's the MASCOT of Quarks!! There should be something there.. a Plaque... SOMETHING! You've got the Dart board... But no Morn?! WE WANT MORN! (Come on.. chant it with me!!)

And when can we visit the Frenegii Home world? Maybe see Rom in action as the Grand Negis? I hope that's soon!

Ok.. that's enough from this feverish person.. I only hope I can think this clearly when I don't have a head cold!!

I know. But I was using that as my example of why I would not want a death penalty that cost you skill points, or makes you loose them instead of gaining them as one of the posters suggested. :)

I doubt a DP in FFXI style is possible in STO since the levelsystem makes it kinda impossible to do so...

It will probably be a WoW style system where you have o pay to get you ship fixed or your crew replaced.

What? NO Bad idea! BAD idea!

What he said. If you're going to ignore the part of the community that has been posting against a DP to push your own DP agenda then you need to address some problems, ie, the Defend Sector X missions. I've lost track of how many times I've entered one of them in the middle of a battle at the zone in point and found myself mostly dead by the time the mission is loaded and fully dead before I properly react to what's going on. A DP in that situation is unwarrented so if you're going to force one on us then please either make a safe zone in point or maybe a minute of invulnerability se we can at least get our bearings and find out what is happening in the mission before we're saddled with a DP, other wise I'll just stop doing those missions.

Very good read. Much to look forward to,but what would something like this be without feedback. So here are my two things.

    No to the death penalty.

I don't want a respec I wan't the skill cap gone. Just seperate points gained to increase skills from points gained to rank up, and your instant leveling issue is solved.

I think a few people are over reacting to the announcement of a death penalty.

I can not see it being anything to harsh,I am sure they are not going to go from no death penalty to something that destroys the game for you.

I would think something along the lines of -10% to hull and maybe shields stacking debuff, maybe it would last around 10 mins and could stack up to 3 time's.

Something like this does not cost you anything and just makes you stop and think before jumping in to battle.
Again I am just guessing but I can not see it being anything severe.

no one is going to tell me how to play a game that i payed and am paying for , no one has the right to tell anyone how to play the game , for those that think they do have right ! worrry about playing for own game, no one has the right , especial when their paying for it, my idea of star trek may not be yours, and vice versa, ppl that want to tell people how to play a game have control issues.

They could simply kill of some crew till they get replaced or put a debuff on some of your power systems to simulate damage for a few minutes.......

I think the up coming changes really reflect the zone chat from the first couple weeks of game play which is encouraging. Death penalty will make you more on edge, no matter how slight or might it is...cannot wait. I know people who have already stopped playing, and personally they can leave....STO is about star trek more than anything else. For those who stay...see in the stars.

    Halloa
    1st time Poster 8)

You all are doing great, wonderful work. I'm enjoying the Heck out of the game so far. We've actually got a pretty good reunion of my old Star Wars Galaxies Guild going on. Please, don't overthink things. What you are doing is working, keep doing it!

If I had one request, can you begin selling more Character Slots in the C-store, Please? Three slots is anemic for an MMO, especially with only one playable server. (Unless you are EVE online of course.) Oh, and bury the death penalty, dying under the right circumstances is fun and fun should be promoted! Besides you can't hand out abilities like "Ramming Speed" and then start penalizing the result.

Thanks so much and keep up the good work.

Ok I'm hating the idea of a death penalty simply cos when ur in an escort (which lets face it, its pretty **** poor at absorbing damage) not only does it take abt 30-45 secs to get back into the action area when you get inevitably blasted into a million pieces, but now we're gonna be hit with a incrimental penalty. maybe a way to go in this if most players want it is to have it as a "option" that when u first enter a warzone you are asked do you want to be treated like a gimp?? players that say yes will get the game they wanted while others that dont will feel valued as customerrs to this game and cryptic that they arnt overlooked and that we as individual players can play the game how we want to play and not being told how to play it.......well theres my 2 cents worth Im sure ill get loads of unhelpful comments about what ive just said but this is an MMO and I beleive if cryptic gave us the option it would make it better for ALL not the majority or the minority

So bambard away my fellow STOers!

    • Respec - YEA!
    • Death Penalty - BOO!*
    • Difficulty Slider - YEA!**
    • More open auto-fire - YEA!
    • Replayable missions - YEA!
    • Improving Memory Alpha - BIG YEA!
    • Fixing those Commodity missions - YEA!

And I for one can't *wait* for cruisers to get their groove back. All-in-all, much good news, and thanks!

*Any DP had *better* not be a time or XP sink! (Was this on the recent subscriber survey? I don't recall.)
**More difficult should be fewer but more challenging adversaries.

Yeah forums are a tiny fraction of the actual player base. Cryptic will have access to much more precise data. The lead Dev was VERY against having a Death Penalty. So if he feels compelled to add it then the data must be overwhelming for it. Otherwise he would have simply refused. As he did before release.

I am more worried about content than anything else, right now there is nothing left for me and my friends to do in the game, over 1/2 of them don't even log in anymore other than to do the daily Fed quest. Content is king in any MMO no content equals a dead game.

    Cryptic -

Keep up the good work. You've delivered a solid game.

That said, I'm very happy to hear the respec is around the corner. I'm hoping that the Skills will be updated at that point too. Tired of looking at those wasted points sitting in a skill (T2 Ship) doing nothing for me.

I'm also a strong proponent of the Death Penalty. <.< Uhh, atleast in STO. :) Right now, there simply isn't enough reason to stay alive.

I'm really pulling for the Romulans. The ships, the decorum, the uniforms. All of it! However, I also wouldn't mind waiting for the Romulans, if the Klingons get more fleshed out. I don't even play as a Klingon, but without them, where's the war?

Finally, sector's that flip factions depending on PVP AND PVE conditions.

That's my $.02. Keep up the good work guys and gals!

When will there be "life" on the planets? Right now.. you beam down to a planet that may have some sort of flora on it but no creatures of any type.

The away missions on planets consists of either scanning objects or killing enemies, it is very weird to beam down to a planet and only see the enemies and yourself all the time. Where are the locals at? Is every planet barren of local species.. it doesn't make sense.

I understand the get it done and get it out the door for launch but when will we see content like the above in the game?

I like a lot of the ideas. I think the death penatly is a HORRID/TERRIBLE?BAD THE WORST idea. Some of us are casual players and we have things in real life that may only allow a couple hours a day. Also we play the game for fun. I am thinking if you had a penalty that would casue someone to take 2-3 days to undo jsut becasue they zoned into something, or they were grouped with peopel not knowing what they were doing, or they turned away and got sucked into an enemy contact when they did not want, etc I think it would turn from fun to furstration. If you want that there is EVE Online. Zaken73 had a good point it is nice to be able to log in, have some fun (alone or with friends) and log out. Waiting 20 seconds to respawn is a bad enough penalty. Losing money, BOs, ships, etc all are bad ideas. The hard core players might like that but the casual players (which grow in number daily) will abandon like their compupters are on fire as well as many who bought a lifetime liking the game the way it is will be very upset.

Some things I would like to possibly see:

    1) Respecs but not at a ridicoulous cost for in game money like in Champions. (heck most just reroll as it is too expensive )

    2) See other parts of the ship such as your ready room, main engineering, etc as well as make these areas and the bridge more functional than just there. Capt Skip ahd some good points

    3) Adjustment to crafting in that the white items you need at memory alpha (at least for T2 can be a major pain in the butt to get if your character is a captain or admiral. Also needs to be some way to show your progress so you do nto have to craft, check with the next higer tier, run back, craft, check with the next highest tier, craft.....

    4) Missions where you get boarded would be intersting as well and you do ground stuff on your ship.

    5) More clothes options would be nice as well as a couple extra coustome slots (One for fleet, one for formal, one for everyday like how the miltary is set up)

    6) Difficulty slider. Not sure what that means. If it means you do repetable missions and that the enemies difficulty matches yours if it is a lower area for example that might be good. Not sure how I feel about this until it would be explained.

    7) To Haiden_Stone you said it is unfinshed. How is running the same dungeon 100 times just to try and get a new shiny (ie Wow or LOTRO) any bettter than what STO is? As for peopel burning through content so fast that happens in EVERY game as you have those that eat, sleep, work, game and so when you game 8-10 hours a day yes you are going to burn through content quickly. Ever thought if you hit the end maybe I could try a different character or something? MMOs are nto all about raiding for shinys and I am thinking Cryptic has things in the works but the game was more popular than they anticipated as well as they must follwo within their liscencing.

    8) More fleet things like a base or something that you can hang out with other fleet emembers or something.

    9) Inventory space. You have liek 10 tabs for fleets and with the cost and hihg turnover chances are fleets will never use more than 5 but individuals we only get one. Maybe give us one or 2 tabs more we can buy (but no so expensive they are unrealistic). Some who liek to craft could find this useful.

This is what I got so far but will post more if I think of something. So far great job.

I agree would be nice to hace some animals and locals. Maybe diplomatic missions. Star trek was nto always about killing and destryoing. Look at Picard he was more of a diplomat than a soldier.
