I can definitely get behind that... or at least 2 or 3 options for each crew member...

Shorts term: more planets to land on and explore

mid term: more of an rpg type of mission that reflects star trek better

long term: missions that take place on the ship, side missions from your crew. this is more like the show where most events take place on the ship. this requires better ship interiors aswell :D
    :)

My chars have no char history!!!

Game play ought to start w/ 12 lvls of cadette training from the appropriate training facilities, i.e. Star Fleet Academy ect, in shuttles and fighters.
When/if STO makes penalties for deaths, start could begin from flight simulators which would have no consequence for death.
Then move on from there to "rl" ships say @ Cadette lvl3ish.
After Ensign, a LTC could have a larger cl ship made avail.

Ground combat trng in "school" wouldn't hurt.

i am quite new to the game (first post here on the forums, read a lot tho) but i do love to make some suggestions.
I did not read all the previous pages, so maybe some have been already suggested. but anyway:

    short:
-If you are preparing to sell something common in the exchange, for example a green -phaser turret mk IV [dmg]-, that you would be able to see all the exact same items on the exchange for sale already, so that you can easily adjust your price.
-exchange BO officers searchable on SKILL (e.g. rapid fire III)
-more (optional!!!!!) minigames like the thingy if you scan an anomaly (i am lazy and press F immidately, but some peeps might do it because of the higher (but not OP) rewards)

    medium
-able to view and/or use the exchange in a browser/smartphone. (make it gold/c-store only = $$$)
-able to view and/or use the duty roster in a browser/smartphone. (make it gold/c-store only = $$$)
-large (space) battle with, lets say 50 feds vs 50 klingon, composed of npc's wich get replaced by players if they join.

    long
-destructible enviroments (e.g. walls, consoles etc.)
-"dynamic" territories of the empire vs federation, let us have some influence on the map! (bij doing pvp/pve etc).
-combined ground and space pvp/pve. its like the Cutting the Cord mission(make the ground and space parts happen at the same time in realtime), so (again; for example)half the people play on the ground and half in space; when you are losing on the ground but winning in space you could call in help (e.g. air strikes, random beamdowns of turrets, security npcs, or even as simple as an area overview(enemy locations are know for X seconds)). This could also work the other way around(ground-to-space weapons, reinforcement fighters, or *GASP* DS9 warps on the map*(with active turrets, forces, repairs)!!)

    hope this helps a bit.
ps i know my english sucks, im not native.
*ps2 and when DS9(or some equivalent klingon space station) warps ion the map you have to board it to operate/defend or attack/disable it. Make you could make some nice minigames here! e.g. make me use a slow but very strong cannon in first person mode; then i would be able to shoot enemy ships! ill stop now its getting an inception of my own suggestions lol.

    Coool!!!!

This also made me think. It would be great to be able to watch the ground battle from space. Really with any PvP. An option for "watch pvp" should be added to the ques so that if it is a fleet match the others could watch and cheer them on.

again, i got the idea when i was playing Cutting the Cord, it has very nice sound fxs (close street fights, bombardments etc) and when you look up you see ships flying over. You also get attacked by a fighter once. Its a very simple idea really, but very hard to realise programming and server wise.

I Couldnt agree more with my fellow captains, star trek is not about mission to mission grinding. the episode idea is ok. but its an mmo in (SPACE) open it up let us be free, take the game off the tracks. do something that hasnt been done put the universe before us and all its endless possibillities. allow us to make treaties with new races and really exorcise our diplomatic brain or get in trouble on a new planet and have to call starfleet for help.. ive been dreaming of the open possibillities of space my whole life and the first mmo to offer me the chance to go makes me feel like im more on a traid ride than the vast freedom of space.. im sick of shooting and killing, ive slaughterd a billion foes across my mmo career, i wanna make peace with a few races now and be given the oppurtunity to talk my way out of a bad situation.

Short term goal: fix the boff clones. and station make better use of the interior of the ship. the things that seperates sto from the other space games, is the ships, and the abillities to interact within them meaningfully which sadly enough sto lacks.

mid term: put usefull stations inside your ship. i mean cmon a lounge with no bartender ??? crazy.,. a sick bay you cant get healed in ? and an engineering lab you cannot create new items and fabrications in ??? certainly you see the vast potential for these areas to be improved more than just ramping up a thing or two for the kiddies.

Long term: real missions inside the ship itself get to know your own officers, more lighthearted fun, the movie was great dont get me wrong but i could care less about constant blood pounding action, hell let me take a real vaca on risa. and where the hell is captain picards memorial statue so i can walk by and pay homage! ive spent time in many many mmo's and you would be suprised how many people want a peacefull option.

    Greetings!

These ideas aren't mine. They are from a friend of mine: Pip@N-PARKER. Only bug fixes are from me & fleet starbase add-on.

    Thank you. :D;)

    Short-term requests

These are small things that seem like they could maybe be done within a patch or two.

    Bugs:
Fixing these two skills when trying to apply them on your allies. Science & Engineering teams on Holodeck

    Mid-term requests

These are things which realistically would take a couple of months for the devs to do, given dev time, testing, balancing, and so on.

    Missions & Fleet-owned starbase:
Adding fleet-owned starbase to the game.

    #1. NEW MISSIONS.

#2. NEW MISSIONS. number two is just as important as number one. if you are worried on how it is going to work well, you can have the first of these new missions result in the player being demoted back down to captain.

#3. as a result of the demotion have terran empire misions that end the series with your crew fighting themselves. i think this would be a good unexpected plot twist and all the captains will go ga ga for it.

    Long-term requests

These are "direction of the game" kind of things. Stuff that you want them to do over the next year or two of the game's development.

    Content:
#4. now when you are in a space battle and an enemy gets your shields down, have them beam over a boarding party and you then get the opportunity to defend your ship. and maybe cause some damage to it that will allow you to use all the minor/major componants we may have sitting in our banks. if you are in a team maybe make the option that they join you on your ship to defend it or they will protect you on the outside keeping other baddies from seizing your ship. either way it is good stuff.

#5. i am not a big fan of the one shuttle craft mission and i even did the delta dailys. make a few more shuttle missions. but for pity's sake create a nice little animation sequence where it actually takes off from your ship. and more importanly do NOT have it affect your bridge officers on your main ship. and the last thing is just an answer i would like. you want to get a shuttle and you want it to be a delta flyer, why in god's good name would you require the play to get another shuttle to do those dailies. the delta flyer does not let you have any more officers on it. or come with special equipment.

#6. another direction you can take the missions in is to actually be recruited into section 31. where you get to play out secret missions defending the federation from hidden threats. and you can have your secret agenda where you want to drop out because it conflicts too much with with your ideals or you can see the missions through.

The starship weapons on the game is good, but I think there should be weapons specific to an organization like disruptor weapons. Make ones that are designated like Romulan Disruptor Beam Bank, Gorn Disruptor Turret, Klingon Disruptor Bank, and so forth. Just every race that generally use disruptors. And give them their own sound affects like mainly for Romulan and Klingon Weapons. Might need to improvise on Orion, Nasicaan, and Gorn disruptors.

    1) Change the ranks so that I'm a Captain at max level not any kind of an Admiral. In one sense this is trivial, but it's starting to sound like you are starting to believe your own propaganda and are actually thinking of putting us in charge of fleets at higher levels. NO! Keep the game focused on each player being in charge of a ship. If you have anything on your 'to do list' other than that SCRAP IT and SCRAP IT NOW!!! For emphasis, change the ranks so we are all Captains in Star fleet not Admirals. I'd hate the demotion but it's just silly now with everyone in the fleet being an Admiral.

    2) Boff's are an important part of this game, but we loose that when we form a team. This needs to be changed. Everyone on every (ground) mission should bring one player and at least one bridge officer with them. Maybe you need to cap teams at three players or something. I don't know what the technical side is. I do know you loose something with a team of all players. It shouldn't be that radical a game changer to play with friends.

    3) Fishing! Ok, not nearly as important, but I had to list three. Besides aren't we the only mmo without fishing?!

1 freedom, its a not so wide open space as it would seem
2 territory control, give me a goal, make me want to join a fleet and fight an aggressor. i want fleets like in eve. people working together for a common goal
3 that sense of community like you used to find in SWG

1 Fire the current Dev Staff for thier unparalleled destruction of what a game used to be.

2 Crafting is rediculous with this uneccesary fee of dilithium that should go with the old dev team

3 Skills need to become sensable currently they are not you no longer have enough points to have a proper ship let alone do anything on the ground

OK. I've been speaking with the in-game community *INSIDE the game* about the new changes made to our loved & precious *SPECIAL* starships for Admirals like; Dreadnaught (Galaxy-X), armored Intrepid class & maybe other ships.

Seriously, what's with the - Universal Console - ?? It's illogical to make the special ability on these as a console that can be moved around like an item which CLEARLY isn't an item. By doing that, it removes a precious console that was important to have on the ship. Bring back these ships the way they were; people are angry... well... not angry. Maybe... sad, disappointed & discouraged since some of them worked hard to get that special ship.

These ability are specific built-in the design starship upgrades and NOT some console upgrade. Get that ship + that ability. It's ok for lower ranks. However, Admirals ships, Erhhm... NO! Not a very good move.
It has become useless & put in people inventories to rot until the end of times. Think about it for a min...

You know what?!? I can actually FEEL that my ships are misalligned or something. Just like Captain Picard with his starship felt when he told to Geordi about the 2 microns misallignement.

I think that I will do a survey in-game to see how many are thinking the same way about this. These changes to these ships aren't right & if you did received good feedback about that, they are wrong & does not understand the true mechanics. Right now, I'll take my older ships for a ride & probably making them my flagships instead of the retrofits or dreadnaught. You could always make them as *Devices* that can be placed in device slots which might and could be a logical solution. Talked to some players from the french community & it has been most informative. I'll check in later with interviews updates. Bring back our ships to the glory they once were.

SHIP + BUILT-IN SPECIAL ABILITY not SHIP + WITH SPECIAL UNIVERSAL CONSOLE. (Lower ranks may have that, but not Admirals. - We need these spots free for consoles -)

What's the point in having a special ability that you can't use? Because we want our consoles to be there & the ability a part on the ship design. It was better the way it was.

    Thank you.

What's the point in having a special ability that you can't use? Because we want our consoles to be there & the ability a part on the ship design. It was better the way it was.

    Thank you.

Hmm... I appologize. Didn't remembered that dev blog here.

    Short term

1: Excelsior Bridge pack thst many players game wide feel is overdue.

2: A fix to the really annoying cloned Bridge officers on ship interiors bug that started on a few characters but has spread through the game to the great disapointment of all.

3: A working Sickbay on ship interior to save lengthy return journeys to spacedock if you are out of regenerators.

    Mid term

1: The ability to transwarp to other members of your fleet in times of need.

2: A formulated plan to allow us to upgrade Sehlats to attack pets to match the plans for KDF targs and saurs.

3: High Stakes Dabo for Vice Admirals.

    Long term

    1: A working shuttle bay.

2: Fleet Starbases... The fleets have been promised these and let down so long now, we are the gel that holds the community together.. without fleets your game community is a group of strangers so reward us not punish/ let us down.

3: The old preorder stuff finally getting into C-store.

Short- More weapons, we currently have Very Rare, would like to see a relic or legendary weapon set, the Borg items are a great start.

Mid- Raids in Space with no ground combat at all...Ground combat is terrible in this game and having a complete raid with only space combat would be amazing.

Long- Complete overhaul of ground combat, ground combat is what gives this game a bad name to subscribers, every friend i ever talked to says ground combat is why they don't play STO, it is by far the worst MMO gameplay i have ever seen, Space combat is amazing though, that's why im here

There's some good in the season 5 but trashing the skill tree really messed things up. PLUS you have to spend money on retrain tokens over and over again trying to get things to some resembleance of useable. It's called extorsion.
