Item 1- I know I'm not the only one frustrated by players spamming mines and pets in pvp matches, so here's an idea: enable mine and pet kills to count as points during pvp matches. A good start is every 8 mines or 2 pets equals 1 point.

Item 2- I'd love to be able to take some the common mk XII gear I'm finding and craft abilities into it. To ensure balance, I recommend that players only be allowed to add one or two counts of any ability to any item, with the current maximum of 3 abilities per item remaining intact.

Item 3- Eventually, I would like to see an option to design a starship from the warp core out. This could include variable options for the power source (not just matter-antimatter), interlocking the power relays to boost output, multiple shield generators off each arc (boosting shield points and damage resistance) and weapon slots on the port and starboard sides of the ship.

Bridge Officer assignments and placement. I would like to have the option to rearrange your Bridge Officers via the Starship assignments tab. As of now, we are restricted in doing so. While in space, I prefer the Tactical Officer as the first bridge officer on the HUD tray.
    Thanks!

    1. fix the patcher

sorry but game has been out what a year and a half now and it still takes forever and a day to patch ?
I mean IE: right now I am still down loading a 342 MB patch and am at the 2.5 hour mark and no it's not my internet connection.

    2. Be able to go to the captains ward room and / or cabin on your ship instead of just the bridge. Also be able to set it up as we like.

    3. While I know this will likely never happen be able to go to more areas of the ship like medical, engineering, galley etc etc. but I would be happy with #2

    Short Term

I want to see more story based missions brought to the Klingons, while it is getting better over there it's still to pvp focused.

    Medium Term

I'd like to see random drops of RD stuff brought into the game, acquired through the likes of exploration or diplomatic missions. Unique weapons, consoles ETC.........Give people a reason to go looking for none combat stuff as well as the blazing light shows.

    Long Term

Space.......It just doesn't feel big enough

Mission entry cut seen, Should be entry into the chosen solar system. (Maybe a distant shot of you dropping out of warp with the entire solar system before you...before zooming into your ship. The area of combat/exploration should be more populated.....The Solar system...planets and moons ETC rather than just one lonely planet and a few floating rocks something akin to TNG opening where the Enterprise fly's past Saturn

And space in general should be increased in size.....more solar systems more missions just make it BIGGER ! and less repetitive to build in some life span, because as it stands people at best are only going to play through the game from start to finish a maximum of six times

Tactical / Engineer / Science on both Fed then KDF then what is there left for them to do......

    Err..
    2. and 3. are in-game... now (and have been for quite some time!). We can go to sick bay, we can go to the lounge, we can go to our quarters (though we can't change anything about it), we can go to engineering...

When you go to your bridge, go to the turbolift, and choose the deck you wish to visit.

I've only one request at this time: I'd love the ability to be able to enter the bridge while my ship continues moving in its current course.

While travelling across sector, I think it'd be grand to be able to do reshuffling of gear, assigning of skills points, walking around ship, chatting with friends (and hosting them!), reviewing my logs, choosing historical missions, etc all from my character's POV rather than that of the ship. Very immersive, I think. Especially with the duty officer/assignment system coming.

(Sorry, I'm still fairly new to STO play, so maybe this is already coming!)

    Related short-term additional functionality:

    1) setting destination via the map
    2) responding requests like beam down, enter sector group, enter system map

    Related mid-/long-term additional functionality:

    1) viewscreen shows a live outside view, which can be rotated/zoomed independant of the character camera with a different key (i.e. so you can pull up a view from the back/side of your ship and zoom in/out, while still being able to rotate/zoom your character's camera on bridge)
    2) sitting at the command chair brings up the usual space interface, allowing you to change direction/speed and even run combat from the bridge for those so inclined (though with no 3d on the mini map, I doubt this'd be prudent for any but the simplest fights)

I know some of this may have allready been discussed by some, but I for one had really wanted to see
some things for ship interiors that would at least add a live atmosphere even when you visit your bridge
    by yourself. For example;

    * VIEW SCREEN - At the touch of a button,(or at your Helmsmans post) change the view on
your view screen from stars to planets to starbases.

    * INTERACTING AI - Crew Members from the deck visit the bridge to have you sign off on their work./
Verbal feed back from your officers at their stations,"All systems normal Captain." or if your ship
is sitting outside of SOL you would hear,"Entering SOL Sysytem Captain." and the screen would
show SOL./ Interaction in the Galley - Random comments or salutations from the crew./
Possible button for interactions on or off considering player ceremonies and meetings on board.

    * INTERACTIVE REPLICATORS IN KITCHEN - See them actually work after you order!/ See a
more live kitchen with crew members cooking behind those dead grills./ GET RID OF THE
POP-CANS! - When you get a Brandy, its in a Brandy glass not a pop can! And a glass that
stays in your hand when your socializing and can be used anytime./ FOOD TRAY - From the
replicator that stays with you at any table and continue to eat from till you click finish.

Would enjoy hearing from anyone else that has had similar ideas to liven the Bridge and Deck.

This is one I would like to see most of all. At least be able to "TRAVEL" while on the bridge. I know many would agree tactical should remain tactical view. And while your ship is enroute to destination, still go
about the bridge and decks without interruption. (See also my "Bridge and Deck Ideas")

    Short-term;
    1. Warp torpedos that match an enemy's shield frequency and warps into it. This would be a half-hour torpedo that would do massive dammage like the spinal lance exept on a bigger scale (got the idea from the book series, Star Trek Destiny). Mabby include in S4.
    2. A suicidal move like self destruct that uses the ship it's self as a warp torpedo.
    3. Make Capt. Table more useful. For example, have more vendors and make one-of-a-kind items be available there.

    Mid-term;
1.Move support stuff back to STO website. At least tickets. It is a pain in the TRIBBLE$ to log in everytime I need to submit a ticket.
    2. Have the ships page include all types and varients of ships including for example Muti-vector Advanced escort and allow access to ship info depending on main character rank.
3.Make forums a bit more user friendly.

    Long-term;
1.Make a sector block where Federation, Klingon, and Romulan space intersect to follow facts from TNG.
2.Sector block on the other side of the bajoran wormhole and possibly include continuing story lines from DS9 if CBS allows it.
3.Add a mission every once-in-a-while to a sector block to keep things active in said area.

    Short term:

    Improved universal skill tree

Additional dedicated class specific skill tree Eg: A tree designed with in depth passives and additional skills for Engineers, Tac's and Science captains, to compliment the current skill tree as well as supplement it's short falls in regards to depth and effectiveness.

Larger repertoire of boff and captain skills, allowing for larger skill diversity and over all boosted effectiveness of classes and their respective roles.

    Mid Term:

Individually re-sizable UI segments;more skill bars.

More end game content such as STF's and a larger number of "dungeons"/ Fleet actions

    Improved Fleet action queue

    Long Term:

Fully customizable Retrofit ships; basically the ability to buy a retrofit "schematic" and construct a ship with parts from all ingame faction ships (Fed may only use Fed ship geometries) As well as choose the Boff assignment make up (Minimum of one for each type, tac, engi, sci) and custom consoles slots ( Minimum one each console slot Sci, Engi, Tac)

    Larger ship diversity

    Faction xp/Reputaion

I'm sure people already talked about this but my forcus is about game experience.
My request is kind of all related with first one. So I don't know which one should be in short term request or long term request. But here is my suggestions.

    1. Commanding from brige.
When I watched Star Treck drama or movies, lots of drama happned in the brige.
So I would like to suggest to have an option to conrol ship from the brige not only from outside view. (of course people should able to switch the view any time without loading screen.)

Captain's work isn't shooting phaser or checking sheild by their self. And in this game people have own crews! So I would like to sit on the captain's chair and command what to do to other brige officers.
It may be little harder to control a ship with current game system. However commanding from brige is making experience like "you are the captain of this ship" more clearly. And people can feel your crews are part of the brige members. And I believe this experience makes STO diffrent from other type of the sci-fi games.

    2. Brige officers need own AI
So in order to command from the brige I can see there are lots of things to solve.
You are sitting and commanding from the captain's chair. So when you want to shoot phaser or so, what to do if you are the captain?
You need to look at officers and tell what you want to do.
However I know it's too slow to tell what to do to each officer in order to catch up such fast current battle speed. But...if officers can handle shooting by their self? All you need to do is tell them which enemy you want to attack and what kind of attack pattern you want to use. And you also have a pilot crew. If they can handle ship control to minimise damage from attacks, all you need to do is telling them what kind of aversive pattern and setting course.

    3. Brige officers need voice.
So... when you look at officers and tell what to do, but still no voice?
If each officer and captain their self have own voice, that would be very rich experience.
So your offiers answer with your command and have some reactions. Well... of course people should be able to choose offier's and captain's voice from some options.

    4. Outside view and incoming massage should be on screen
Just a tiny pop up window isn't enough! I would like to see message is on the brige screen and talking like drama. and I would like to see planets are coming closer through the brige screen.

    5. Brige interior texture need to be upgraded
Well... If you can spend time from the brige, you want to see nicer and richer texture in the brige of course. Material setting of some brige (even the brige sets from C-store) is way behind from other texture setting. for example, sadly I can feel much nicer experience in the other rooms like engine room or sick bay.

    6. Add top sheild and bottom sheild on the ship
Current ship battle is almost 2 dimensional battle. However space is 3 dimensional world.
You still can go 3 dimensionally but it is not so appealing at the battle.
Then why can't we control our ship more 3 dimensionlly? If we can control our ship more 3 dimensionally in the battle, tactics may diffrent. you may need to rotate the ship more often including top and bottom dimension to disperse damage to the shield. And this control makes experience like "you are fighting in no gravity space".

    7. Tactics window at the captain's console
If officers can handle ship control and weapon control etc. by their self. What does captaion do?
Captain needs to make tactics and choose priority. And captain can concentrate about tactics finaly. (Captaion can set the course even in the battle but officers operate that. and I believe this makes player busy enough)However, this is what happend in the real ships anyway even in the Star Trek drama.

    8. Dramatic interior effect at the brige
If your ship get some damage in the battle. I would like to see view is shaking and some explosion and engineer team comes to fix it. This experience also improve atmosphere of serious battles.

    9. Opinions from brige officers and learing new skills
Captain doesn't need to decide everything. Sometimes brige officers may have suggestions at some quests. That's why some officers are sitting next of you in some brige!!
So I would like to hear their opinions if it's serious decision. And the result of the quest may be diffrent from that decision. Sometimes from the doctor or chief engineer not only from the second rank officer. This may gives more depth to the non-combat quests. And it may fun if you can get new tactics skill or something from suggestion.

So, overall my seggestions are forcusing about game experience. It may not so important for some people.
However I would like to swamp into the Star Trek world like when I watch the drama or movies. And I would like to feel "I'm the captain of this ship" through the game experience. And I would like to feel "captain and my crew are working toghther".
And yes, I played other Star Trek game called "brige commander" almost 10 years ago. And I still feel that game has totally diffrent rich experience with other games. And I do believe this game experience helps STO a lot and this game can go uniqe direction as well.

And I still like to control my ship by myself sometimes even if the game has this "brige commander mode" in the future. Current ship control way is classic but everyone can understand easily and looking at own ship from outside is totally fun!
So I hope this mode is separated or working togther somehow.
Too much suggestions? Well, I'm just dreaming.:D

    Thanks for reading!

    Short Term:

Decorations for Captain's quarters- Introduce new series of items for crafting such as chairs, trinkets, and furniture. Allow for placement of weapons and other items from inventory in quarters for further decoration. This concept could be moved to mid-range goals if an entirely new interface is introduced, where a top down view, view similar to ship customization, or view similar to foundry is used to place and move these decorations/furniture.

Visual Damage tweaks- During combat, when the going gets rough (<35% hull, for instance), small debris and chunks of ship could separate from the ship to indicate significant damage and weakness.

    Mid-range:

Create deck with crew quarters, where you can converse with any officers not on the bridge (where your assigned officers would be the only named officers operating on the bridge) about past missions. They can offer tips and answer questions about your performance that might otherwise be evaluated by a list of stats about the mission. For example, if your ship was destroyed multiple times because the captain failed to redistribute shields to the left, this might be recorded by the game. The game could use x to represent to amount of power redirected to a side that received a lot of damage. To convey these battle-records to the captain, the captain could converse with an engineer in his/her quarters, and the npc could voice this possible flaw to the captain. Essentially it would be a more interactive stat-tracking system, that allows for an experience in communicating with your crew.

Re-Use old ships- Instead of being limited to the end-game ships, there could be an option to modify and upgrade past ships to be viable in high-level content. This would also accommodate interests of being able to customize weapon/console/etc slots. The captain could access all previous ships, excluding the starter ship, and refit their slots, with of course some sort of limits so as to not allow for an overpowered ship. The ship stats would also have to be modified, such as hull hit points.

Bridge combat- A popularly mentioned suggestion, might as well support it. Combat with a view from the bridge, with visual access to a mini-map, or perhaps side-window that displays exterior view. With this could come interior damage visuals and interior explosions and effects upon damage. (Maybe even some red-shirts getting tossed about). With this, it would also be nice to be able to access ship interior during flights so as to not have to sit and watch while making a long trek between systems

    Long-term:

Faction point system- Doing missions for certain factions gains a sum of points for that faction. This would also open options for smaller-scale faction-specific missions, as well as Fleet actions for factions. A captain approaches a representative for, perhaps, the Deferi at the Sol system Space dock. This representative would have repeatable missions prepared, and perhaps a series of small side-story missions to give to the captain depending on his/her level (or all missions can always be accessible by all, but are scaled automatically to the captain). Fleet actions would also become available. However, the larger addition that comes with this goal is the ability to spend the faction points gained from this missions on new ships and devices specific to that faction. Thus, this opens the door to the creation of new ships and equipment, as well as a great opportunity for more unique ships between players. To limit the access to ships and equipment make for more significance in who a captain chooses to assist, there could be a limit to the number of factions a captain can aid.

Ship boarding- This is most certainly far-fetched and difficult to achieve, but I suppose this is the place to present it. Certain PvP or PvE fleet actions/PvP game modes could have the option (or even objective) to raid enemy ships/be raided by enemies. This would consist of disabling a ship to a certain extent, then maneuvering close enough while also maintaining protection from other enemies during the boarding process. Once the docking is complete, the ship would be protected under the logic that the enemy ships would not want to damage their ally. Alternatively, the objective can consist of space combat until the boarding is complete, upon which time all players join the ground combat on board and carry out the objective based within the ship. The ship interiors would match those chosen by the player in the customization process. Therefore, it also encourage more variations in ship interior designs.

Which brings me to my final (far-fetched) suggestion.

Interior customization- Using an interface similar to that of foundry, or perhaps a new interface entirely, the player could choose from various objects and styles and place them in their ship interior. They would also be able to design the layout of the ship. They would first choose a size and general style (just as is done with bridge design), then design the layout with limits based on the size chosen (which should also be limited somewhat by the ship size). Once the design is complete, necessary rooms and objects will be required, sick bay and engineering being a few if not the only ones. Referring to my above comment, furniture and other item customization would be incorporated in rooms such as the mess-hall, ready-room etc.

Enriching the Captains experience aboard the bridge seems to be the Hot-Topic, and I know with some
it would probably vary on the Short, Mid, and Long-term goals and ideas. So I would like to throw this out
in a shorter, less complicated manner.

First off I give big salutes to the Devs at Cryptic/STOL. We all can only imagine the challenges, struggles
and the decisions that they have to go through with each new additon. So with that I hope I can sum up in
something that makes it seem easier and practical.

DECORATIVE: Using the "WALL" interface, you would be able to choose exactly what chair or couch
you want at the given spaces of the room. Trade your Fish-Tank for something like one of your mission
    trophies and the like.

ROOM LAYOUTS: Be able to choose from the Ship-Customize, Office and Meeting-Room type, and
what side of the bridge you want them on.

AUTO-SEATING: For dining and relaxation also!

INTERACTIVE REPLICATORS: Even if not for the players, at least watch your crew members get their
food and drink and they actually sit down for a rest and chat in the Galley!

TRAVELING-BRIDGE: I liked the thread I read above, but Im thinking DEV-NIGHTMARE without Scotty!
So I simply propose a Traveling-Bridge for at least the satisfaction of traveling-in-style for all.

    Short-term requests

    1. 29th Century Uniforms
    http://www.st-spike.org/pages/uniforms/29thcentury/uniforms.htm
    http://starfleet1701st.yuku.com/topic/696/Starfleet-29th-Century-Uniforms#.TjcmmoKjiaI

    2. Rare ( BORG, Photonic Officer, ext ext ext) Customization Options.

    3. Ships of the Line in-game Museum located at Starfleet Academy - Possibly located in Building 4

    Ships much include replicas of

    The Enterprise line.

Everything from the Enterprise XCV 330 to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-F

and Hero Examples of each ship class. with a short burp about the ship.

    Mid-term requests

    1. More adapted Borg tech.

    2. More Q related content. I'd love to see a season long event where Q is simply TRIBBLE around with us at every turn. a Q rare BOff would be epic.

    3. Email notices about messages from the in-game mail server. it would be nice to get a notice that we've got a message, never know if an item has sold on the exchange or if I've got a fleet message without having to come check the website. and that can be a time suck when I'm not at my computer.

    Long-term requests

    1. Server upgrades/dedications and so on

    2. Get rid of the auto-log off. I can see where in beta where people couldn't get into the game because of servers where full, but that should be a problem reserved for beta only. the increase of server space with in the first year should of fixed that issue.

    3. One instance to rule them all, or no "instances" at all - the feeling of being in a fish tank makes me feel more like this is a very regularly updated Massivly Mulit-player Offline Game, when it should feel more like a vast open universe, like that of WOW, SWG, and other MMO-RPGs hitting a invisible wall even in a social zone like Starfleet Academy is a little off putting

    Short Term
    - you guys are doing great here!

    Mid Term
    - Create some kind of way in which we can use the Deep Space Encounters in each sector at a VA level. I'd love to have to go back and fight different species and have it count for something at each other sectors at VA level. I realize that B'Tran has all the different species to fight, but... Since I got to VA I have raraely had to go to anything but Sol System and borg Space.

    Long Term-
-Pretty Please can we have the Romulan faction? All fleshed out and good looking too? By far this is the most pertinent and most exciting goal I would love to see.

    - Second to that is fleet star bases... WITH some sort of territory control attached to them. The star base needs to include everything you can do at earth Space dock plus crafting if possible.

    Thanks

Short term: I would love the ability to reset my Boffs. I re-ran the devidian missions this weekend and I lost more boffs to clipping than to combat. They fell through the floor, got stuck in doors, got stuck on computer consoles, pretty much anything that wasn't perfectly flat and wide open.

Just having a button to click and have the boff reset position beside me (as in they beam up to the ship and then down to my side) would be a tremendous help and would fix problems where I beam down and my boffs beam/fall underground.

not sure if this has been posted already or not but I would like to suggest more playable races. Think of the pvp we could have going on and pve if we had Romulans and Ferengi. Each race with their own ships and agenda. Open up more sectors and have pvp zones that include faction against faction. I think it would be awesomesauce.:D

also the c store should be sortable by your selected character, especially on ships by what you can use if you chose to sort it that way.

    more ships

    My Shortterm Request

Add a third type of bank that allows accountwise storing, including boffs and energy credits.

    My Midterm Request

Adjust scales of all ships and adjust the ship powers based on what century they was built.
    (no more retrofits)

    My Longterm Request

Give players a reason to continue play the game at lvl/skill-cap.
(when rolling your 10.th alt you know what i mean)

Echo chamber here, maybe assigning the player a nemesis, more ship management, and content. I leveled up quick to play all the new episodes!

    :)

it would be nice if when you make a new character you don't have to go through the tutorial anymore just start off with you LT ship at Earth Shipyards
