Make Remodulate Shield Frequency let the player choose a damage type to remodulate the shield frequency to.

The ingame version of these is nothing short of UTTERLY PATHETIC. These should be removed from game, as there is no way to both have these added ingame in a reasonable way AND balance them, as their inherent nature IS COMPLETELY UNBALANCED. Having these would be like giving every player an instakill button.
Chroniton Torpedos (Herein referred to as "CT")
These torpedos ignore shields
Upon detonation, all subsystems will eventually become disabled in random order for 10s each over 5s
These torpedos are always considered "high yield"
The variant used by the "High Yield Torpedo" ability will make this 1/2 speed, but launch one extra torpedo per level
The variant used by the "Torpedo: Spread" ability will launch eight torpedos at double speed, but 1/4 yield

is there anyway to have looting be done in the same manner as Vindictus? basically, each dropped item gives each person from the party a chance to loot the item. that would allow all players to loot each item each time and remove any need for loot choices otherwise.
the only negative (or at least some may think) would be that many uncommon - super rare type of items would become less rare, as there would be zero fighting over items and hypothetically 5x the number (or more) of everything available. this can be adjusted easily by reducing drop chances of the more rare things.
although, i wouldnt feel that having so many more items would really be such a bad thing. items would probably cost much less, as supply would increase and so therefore demand would decrease, forcing prices to drop.
a positive of that negative would be less spamming of real money for game money, as the demand for game money would also decrease since items would cost less and demand would be lower. this should also give players who are willing to pay real money for things related to this game more inclined to spend money in the c-store, which would increase ur company revenue, which would greatly increase ur drive to work and expand this game project, in which would also increase ur revenue, entering a nice cycle of happy players and happy company personnel.
the increase in revenue and player base may be enough to give the jump to a free-to-play game more of a shot. or, at the least, to have an item in-game which is purchasable with in-game money that can be used as a game time card. this is an idea used by eve online. they have PLEXs available for an amount roughly equal to the average players 2/3 of a months revenue. this would assure players will play more often for the purpose of making enough in-game money to purchase the PLEX-style item. this will also increase the chance each player will spend real money in the c-store, again, raising ur company revenue.
all this can be possible from just a single looting option ^_^

Recurring theme I know but I was discussing Bacon in Earth space dock and I came up with the idea of adding Bacon as a food, Mundane I know but a lot of players would get a good giggle out of having Bacon as something like a +72% rare food drop. No idea what the tribble would be like though, maybe an attack Tribble if not too ridiculous.
Mid term maybe some more cool ship costumes, I like playing as I get to fly round space in a cool looking space ship and blow $#!/ up. Klingon's currently have the coolest ships available, but the least content. not a fun combination!
Finally, I looked at my accolades and found I have almost 5000 points from my accolades, but currently there's no vendor to buy things from. perhaps ships from other factions, I'd love a Bird of prey or Jem'Hadar attack ship on my fed toon, not sure how the skill points would translate though.

Done get me wrong, I see nothing but potential in this game, along with the love of Trek from both the devs as well as the players. I just feel the C-store is taking a lot away from the in-game experience with players having to drop in extra money to get some of the other "iconic trek" items. That's TRIBBLE...just saying.

please add new dreadnought ships and or convert the monarch into a three nacelle, spinal phaser, cloaking and even saucer separating beast of a warship and also maybe make it the first federation carrier.
I have a mid term/ long term ideea. Make some random encounters in space, that will test the player on a combat or diplomatic level ( something about making a contact with the new civilazition, respecting the 1st directive, or not, etc) with the level of engagement seen in a FE, but with a twist:
- put cool rewards for completing the mission BUT also put super cool rewards if you take a different step ( let's say you are in a situation involving romulans or remans, and you have an option that will allow you to steal the special weapon, or respect the federation laws and destroy it), BUT also if you choose to get the new weapons SURPRISE: you geta super weapon, but also you get demoted for not respecting the federation laws. So the bigger the reward, bigger the demotion. I think this will spice up the end game phase of the game, were things now are pretty boring.
Mid Term- I would like to see more upgrades on the ships and make them tuneable. Example would be to have Sub-Components, Weapons could have an upgradeable "Turret system" so that your turrets can aim faster, or aim more efficiently, or you could have separate components that could control beam amplitute, or types, so if you change a "Coil" or "quantum regulator" it could change a tetryon weapon into a anti-proton weapon. Engines could have replaceable "warp coil's", "plasma injectors" "warp core matrix flux capacitor", ect. ect. They could have different sliders to "Tune" your equipment for better efficiency, accuracy, ect.
Mid Term 2- I would love for there to be shield frequencies and weapon frequencies you can set. So that way, if you set your frequency to a certain number, and the enemy sets his or hers to a certain number you can have more of a chance to get a crit hit. In star trek you see stuff like that, IF your enemy gets your shield frequency, then they can basically blast a torpedo or a beam and take you out in one hit. So if you match your weapon frequency directly to there shield frequency, they are pretty much good as done with. And, the farther apart the frequencies the less likely you are to do damage. You could have different factors also, frequency, amplitude, wavelengths. I think that would be better then just having common, rare, and very rare type weapons. Each weapon could be tuned to a different frequency. That way, when you go into battle, you really have no idea what is coming. You could go up against a shuttle craft, and if it has your frequencies, then even a shuttle craft could take out a heavily armed cruiser with the right hit. Also, each fleet could have there own "fleet" frequency you could use - optional of course.
Mid Term 3- How about a reward option for PVP. Of coarse it would be completely optional, have a "Pirate PVP Zone". When you go into battle, if you loose, the winning team gets to choose something off your ship to keep. Or, maybe they could get a schematic of how your ship is set up.
Long term- Have ships with more realistic damage. If you shoot the saucer section, then you will lose more crew, if you shoot them in the engines, then they will loose the ability to move. Take out there deflector dish and they loose special abilities. I guess I just want STO to be more like the tv show.
Long Term 2- I don't know if this is realistic or not. But I'd love to have a PVP game mode, where you can have your friends all on your bridge or ship with you, all working there stations, one working weapons, one working shields, one commanding, one working in the medical bay, or whatever. Like on the show. Bunch of people working together on one ship to survive. I know it's unrealistic, but I just want to put it out there.
Long term 3- Home worlds. I'd like a place I can go to to call my home. Wether it's a home world or a place on earth with a house or something. Maybe create a sector in space with random planets that we can create a planet, or create a home on the planet. Long term 4- last one I promise, lol, not trying to be greedy. I'd like there to be a sector where it's completely PVP, kind of like eve online, everyone on one server, all battling for there factions, ect.
1. Miniskirts. Yes, I'm a pervert and I like my eye candy and I'm not ashamed to say so. I wont hide behind "Lt. Uthra wore a skirt, why can't my officers?!" or "The Star Trek canon says they exist." Now that that's out of the way;
2. AI Pathing: This I'm sure has been brought up, but the AI officers get caught on doors, boxes, flora, etc. far too often.
3. Officer down: If one of my team mates or myself goes down, there should be some way to make resuscitating that person a priority. As of yet, I keep spamming the call for help button in the hopes that it will glitch and reach one of my officers.
Mid Term:
1. Ship Renaming: Why does this cost anything again?
2. Promotions: I don't think that I should have to spend X amount of points in abilities I'm not going to use just to promote an officer beneath me. I know that they have to "earn" promotions, but it irks me.
3. Quest dialog: Each quest should tell you what system in what sector in what sector block to go to. For example, one mission said "Go to Starbase 1." In hindsight, it's logical to assume that of course, SB1 is on Earth, but that's only AFTER spending a long time looking every place else for something with that name.
4. Quest rewards: I can't see what my mission rewards are once I choose to accept the mission, which makes prioritizing where I go dependent entirely on what I can remember, which, all thing and events in this game considered isn't very much.
Long Term:
1. Maps! It would be SO helpful to be able to zoom from the map sector I'm in to another sector block and see what's there from the galaxy map instead of blindly plotting from one sector to another and hoping the system who's location I may not know is in the place I'm headed. And while we're at it, why not have each system tell us what's IN said system! Treasure Trading station isn't listed on any map or anything.
2. Space Flight: See my sig. What do you mean I can't barrel roll? Or do a 180 vertical loop for that matter? Or even fly in a straight 90 degree angle along the Z axis? Sure, someone somewhere might get confused and ragequit because he forgets what direction he's going, but space flight bound to a galactic "ground" is... a poor decision.
There are more, but this will do.

i think allowing us to control atleast one other ship or an interface that allous us to switch in game to another ship with out going back to space dock or logging out to switch charecters would give us the oppertunity to use those bridge officers we have and hardly use control those other ships. plus switching main control of one ship to another and as you rank up you our aloud to control another ship so you start off with one when you rank up then when you rank up again you get another ship spot and you crew it and so on and so on up to max of for ships which at any time you can go to esd and switch that ship out and crew yet each new level with ship has to start that ship at an ensign and rank up just as you had done with your main charecter .. it gives more play time more reason to rank and better chances if you our the type who rather ploay alone rather in a group the other thing is how about the ability to change charecter in game say u r on planet or on ship maybe in mission you click on a team member and now thats the one you control you can do science tactical and engineering stuff while on one mission yet if main charecter is tactical your science and enginerring officers who did there part you gain only 1/2 or 1/4 accoulade or skills for thatt part .. also being abvle to summon your other captains to your ship or going to there ship to hand out orders as you would ryour doff system nothing better then sitting in your capt ready room hearing the sound of someone wanting to come in and you stating enter them walking in sitting down in front of you and you telling them to do a first con tact mission or rescue and when they go you being hailed every so often and them telling you how things r going ... it opens up the game to much more then just playing it makes you think who to send why that ship and crew is best for it or maybe your better off doing it yourself if you feel your skill rank is best .... plus it should open up some ship slots based on amount of ships you control in space so if you control yours plus one plus that crew then one slot opens up so you can get that new ship or beable to use those ships you dont based on rank and skill and just sit there rusting away in space dock...

Short term
The ability to assign my own crew as First Officer, Head of Security, Science/Chief Medical Officer, and Head of Engineering; and have them stationed in the (XO) chair beside the captains chair, (HoS) at the security station, (HoE) down in engineering, and (CMO) in sick bay. And have my Head of Engineering offer ship repair kits (minor and major) and other ship related items, while my Chief Medical Officer can offer heal kits (minor and major) and other items such as shield recharges and Hypos, and with my Executive officer I can maybe go to them and either have them as way I can look at my Duty Roster and make changes there or have them as a way to access other things instead of clicking on it (you know just for the RP of it all).
Mid Term
The ability to select an officer by clicking on them and the I can right click a console or other activating devices, that I once had to activated myself, and have that officer do the work. In other words, I am captain and I should be giving orders not doing all the work. AND maybe since now there is Engineering, Medical, and Tactical optional side quests or the need to have an Engineer, Science/Medical, and or Tactical to complete those side quests, I can now choose what type of officer I need to go down to the surface and with the "Select Officer and (right click) Delegate Commands" I can use my Officers to complete these objectives. Maybe my Head of Engineering can be the one I need for an engineering issue and have it where he is the one that needs to go to the surface if the objective calls for it and any other Engineering Officer could not do the task like the Head of Engineering could do it, in other words they would be no different than a science or tactical officer doing the task. And so forth if I need a medic or a science objective done, and a Tactical objective as well.
Long Term
The ability to set a course and travel to that destination with only load screens and with out the need of a pop up from my BO asking if I m sure I want to travel to that sector of space. I mean are they questioning my orders? :P
2.And if this can be possible then why not have it where I can set a course, from the bridge and travel there the same as if I was outside my ship.
3. AND if this can be possible why not have others on my ship who can travel there with me and when we get there, maybe at first, their ships would still be there (invisible of course not actually in tow behind the ship they are on) for them to beam to, but eventually, they would have to leave their ships at the place in which they was beamed board and then get passage back to their ship. The ship does not have to be always visible to where they left their ship, it could be said it is in space dock or in orbit around a planet and when you get back to where ship was logged to be at, the option will appear to beam back to ship and the the player will see their ship again.
*RUMOR ALERT*
I hear tells of when we reach Fleet Admiral, we will be able to have some of our own ships in tow to simulate a Fleet. If this has any truth to it then maybe the other players who are on another vessels COULD have their ship in tow behind the ship they are on.
Bonus:
Make it where other captains (players) can man a station, even if at first it is just for RP with out actual abilities or duties to perform. BUT eventually; make it where if your in the Engineering station you make sure the hull is at 100%, and Science station makes sure the shields are up, and Tactical station you are the one who makes sure power to the weapons and Helm would steer the ship or just select what enemy is targeted via Captains orders. Captains orders, for whoever takes that role, would require the "captain"/player to click on an ability of the player manning that station and the player who is in that station has 3 to 5 seconds to also click that ability of theirs to get bonus to that ability. Now each station brings with it their own abilities so if you are going to take the science station what abilities do you have? If it is Science Teams, Tractor Beam, Sensor Scan, and etc; Then that is what your abilities you bring to the table. Likewise for Engineering and Tactical.
This would only work in PvE at first or make missions specific to this set up, but it would be cool to actually or eventually do this for PvE, and PvP. Maybe it could be implemented as one ship against one ship, 5 players on 5 players, since you would have to have 5 in your team when Queuing up for these type of PvP matches. What makes you feel the victory and the comradeship better than you coming out of a ship to ship battle and it was your combined efforts on ONE ship and ONE crew to win a battle.
I know it might be hard to do with a physical representation of two ships fighting each other but maybe the battle can take place on screen between both ships but the whole battle will play out like a paper, rock, scissors game or card game. Based off the numbers of what each officer is spec'd at will determine how much hull they heal or how much damage eject warp plasma does, if your spec'd in those abilities and what your level in those specs are as an Engineer, and etc for the other stations/officers.

Doing a great job, btw. STO has come a long way from my Beta days and I can only imagine what the future holds for us. The imagination of what could be, the anticipation of all that is out there, and based off some of the other posts here I get so excited just thinking about what is in store for us around each corner, around each sector of space, amongst the stars.

How about a Holodeck; where the player can play the roll, either on the federation side or the enemy's side (allowing the player to man a Romulan Bird of Prey, Dominion cruiser, or a Tactical cube) in some of Star Trek's historic battles; Wolf 359, Dominion Wars, and etc, and eventually have the holodeck option on your ship maybe down with the crew quarters. While eventually, other holodeck options such as places to visit, maybe set up your own missions either on ground or in space would be possible. Why can't the Foundry be accessed in the holodeck and then, viola, instant holodeck missions.
BETTER YET, why not make the Foundry THE holodeck, all you have to do is make a door on the crew quarters level, a door at DS9 (top floor where the Holosuits were), a door at ESD (bottom level, so you can fill up that ghost town we have down there), and etc. then STO would have its Holodeck/Suites.

If possible turn it to a universal Battleship for all Klingon Bridge officer characters to use.

1) When I get the chance to promote my bridge officers to Captain, I'd like to give them command of several of the ships I don't use but I still have in my inventory. As an Admiral, I'd like to have them fly their ships with mine and then use them in combat (i.e. giving orders for them to attack specific targets, cover me). Think of it like having an Away Team in space. Just a thought.

I understand that at the present time, Cryptic does not post, nor do they wish to post lists of players per_sey..
I would like to see, however, a listing of players for Top Achievements in the game. In the real world I come from, accomplishments are pointed out to honor the deed. Previous games I played listed Top 1000 in Rank, $$ Money Earned, (Here would be Energy Credits), PVE Kills, PVP Kills, and PVP Deaths. Just to name a few.
Players always took extra effort to get on the lists that were posted for Public Viewing.
With a list like that, there would be a record of even the Kills, and the Deaths in Ker'rat system.
The fleet controls definately need some immediate attention. For example, I cannot see what rank that members are promoted to when they get promoted from a Star Fleet Rank.
This could really be relieved if I could export the ROSTER in the fleet controls. I could do comparisons on a monthly basis and see who is new, who is old, who holds what rank, who has not been on for a given time, etc.. As the fleet creator of Collective, this would be greatly helpful in determining who gets promoted when based upon their Star Fleet rank changes, when they joined, the last time that they were on and more. Nothing more than a simple export on the ROSTER would suffice for 80%+ of the management issues that we fleet commanders face. An automatic daily (a setting for the increment) that would be emailed or sent to a report area would be great. Creating an in-game reports would also be great. However, all of this can be accomplished with exports and using Excel or Calc.
Tying in the ROSTER with the CAPTAINS DATABASE by Captain and/or account would prove absolutely great, but that is another step past this. Please consider allowing an export of non-personal but fleet information to a spreadsheet so that we fleet commanders can base decisions upon Captains based upon the critera that each fleet commander sets up and upon the information available in the fleet roster.
Target Nearest Enemy hot key or bindable command. It would be lovely not to have to cycle frantically through a dozen enemies over 25 kliks away whilst three others are happily chewing on your shields - or alternatively spinning the camera frantically trying to click on one of the buggers. When comparing an item in the inventory with an equipped item, have stats highlighted in green and red depending on wether they are better or worse than the compared stat. It's make it much easier to rread and compare.

Open your character status window, right click the body armor/kit and select disable visuals.

before this game mmo came out it said it would be on the 360 but never did happen. i would still like to see this possible. either for ps3 more for that than 360 so all know its just an idea / thought what do you all think & ps3 should be console because its 1 more powerfully & 2 its blu ray hold more space on a disc

1.) Helmsmen that actually initiate evasive patterns and attack patterns without my direct involvement. (e.g. "Helm: Attack pattern delta 4", "Helm: Evasive".) (And, the ship flies in a pre-programmed path, etc, while I give the orders to do something else {like target x ship and fire}) Long term goal

1. What is the harm in allowing more levels? Yes, there would be a lack of specific items and missions while you work on other stuff, but you could at least allow training up skills instead of just twiddling thumbs. It sort of feels like keeping the game interesting for dedicated players is a little bit of an afterthought.

It would get :eek: complicated, but think of ground away missions - officers have abilities and are mostly autonomous, but they follow the character and work on the same mission. How about doing that in space? So an admiral character would have subordinate captains and ships, with the trained abilities carrying over, and the ships would follow along on 'away missions' in space,almost like pets. More realistic that way.
3. I know, I know, you already 'decided'... but not being able to turn all the way is very frustrating. Space is not two dimensional. It is three dimensional. So allow an option to 'unlatch' from up and down if someone wants to - that way those who think in two dimensions could still function, and those who think otherwise could be less frustrated. Also more realistic that way.
.... and since i know you aren't going to reverse your decree that the universe is flat: 4. Let vice admirals add fighter bays or side facing weapons. With the large cruisers that don't turn quickly, the sides get eaten up. There logically would be space and power on such a huge ship for more weapons. And escorts with more weapons would just be more... escorty. More bristly and ferocious. And fun.:D

It consisted of a single, straight-edged primary blade and two curved secondary blades, which could be either fixed or hinged. It is commonly used in hand-to-hand combat, and had great ceremonial value in Klingon culture. The handle sometimes bore an emblem representing the members of its owner's house. It is intended to be for slashing, jabbing, thrusting and throwing weapon. Every STO player that I talk too about the Knife is looking forward to it as a special reward and are still waiting for this weapon since Season 1, please added in Season 4 in a Klingon new mission or in a Re-Mastered Klingon Front mission for the Klingon Empire.

When creating the Gorn Character for the first time as a main character, it has the option of many traits to choose from like to bite as a ground melee weapon strike, the Gorn Bridge Officer does not have this trait. Recommend to add the Bite traits to the Gorn Bridge Officer for a ground melee strike weapon, many Bridge Officers has special traits to combat there foes in battle example the Reman has Mental Burst and Superior Telepath Traits.

Sorry, I know I've posted this before, but: An auto sort button for the inventory. I don't care if it's by level, by type, by rarity, whatever, but this would cut down on random time lost mucking around with our inventories and get us back in the game.

Really appriciate this idea, very interesting. I would add to being able to assign subordinate captains to ships we can purchase or already own that can be custimized, shields, weapons ext.

the only negative (or at least some may think) would be that many uncommon - super rare type of items would become less rare, as there would be zero fighting over items and hypothetically 5x the number (or more) of everything available. this can be adjusted easily by reducing drop chances of the more rare things.
although, i wouldnt feel that having so many more items would really be such a bad thing. items would probably cost much less, as supply would increase and so therefore demand would decrease, forcing prices to drop.
a positive of that negative would be less spamming of real money for game money, as the demand for game money would also decrease since items would cost less and demand would be lower. this should also give players who are willing to pay real money for things related to this game more inclined to spend money in the c-store, which would increase ur company revenue, which would greatly increase ur drive to work and expand this game project, in which would also increase ur revenue, entering a nice cycle of happy players and happy company personnel.
the increase in revenue and player base may be enough to give the jump to a free-to-play game more of a shot. or, at the least, to have an item in-game which is purchasable with in-game money that can be used as a game time card. this is an idea used by eve online. they have PLEXs available for an amount roughly equal to the average players 2/3 of a months revenue. this would assure players will play more often for the purpose of making enough in-game money to purchase the PLEX-style item. this will also increase the chance each player will spend real money in the c-store, again, raising ur company revenue.
all this can be possible from just a single looting option ^_^
is this something that could be looked into and hopefully implemented?
Mid term maybe some more cool ship costumes, I like playing as I get to fly round space in a cool looking space ship and blow $#!/ up. Klingon's currently have the coolest ships available, but the least content. not a fun combination!
Finally, I looked at my accolades and found I have almost 5000 points from my accolades, but currently there's no vendor to buy things from. perhaps ships from other factions, I'd love a Bird of prey or Jem'Hadar attack ship on my fed toon, not sure how the skill points would translate though.

please add new dreadnought ships and or convert the monarch into a three nacelle, spinal phaser, cloaking and even saucer separating beast of a warship and also maybe make it the first federation carrier.
- put cool rewards for completing the mission BUT also put super cool rewards if you take a different step ( let's say you are in a situation involving romulans or remans, and you have an option that will allow you to steal the special weapon, or respect the federation laws and destroy it), BUT also if you choose to get the new weapons SURPRISE: you geta super weapon, but also you get demoted for not respecting the federation laws. So the bigger the reward, bigger the demotion. I think this will spice up the end game phase of the game, were things now are pretty boring.

Mid Term- I would like to see more upgrades on the ships and make them tuneable. Example would be to have Sub-Components, Weapons could have an upgradeable "Turret system" so that your turrets can aim faster, or aim more efficiently, or you could have separate components that could control beam amplitute, or types, so if you change a "Coil" or "quantum regulator" it could change a tetryon weapon into a anti-proton weapon. Engines could have replaceable "warp coil's", "plasma injectors" "warp core matrix flux capacitor", ect. ect. They could have different sliders to "Tune" your equipment for better efficiency, accuracy, ect.
Mid Term 2- I would love for there to be shield frequencies and weapon frequencies you can set. So that way, if you set your frequency to a certain number, and the enemy sets his or hers to a certain number you can have more of a chance to get a crit hit. In star trek you see stuff like that, IF your enemy gets your shield frequency, then they can basically blast a torpedo or a beam and take you out in one hit. So if you match your weapon frequency directly to there shield frequency, they are pretty much good as done with. And, the farther apart the frequencies the less likely you are to do damage. You could have different factors also, frequency, amplitude, wavelengths. I think that would be better then just having common, rare, and very rare type weapons. Each weapon could be tuned to a different frequency. That way, when you go into battle, you really have no idea what is coming. You could go up against a shuttle craft, and if it has your frequencies, then even a shuttle craft could take out a heavily armed cruiser with the right hit. Also, each fleet could have there own "fleet" frequency you could use - optional of course.
Mid Term 3- How about a reward option for PVP. Of coarse it would be completely optional, have a "Pirate PVP Zone". When you go into battle, if you loose, the winning team gets to choose something off your ship to keep. Or, maybe they could get a schematic of how your ship is set up.
Long term- Have ships with more realistic damage. If you shoot the saucer section, then you will lose more crew, if you shoot them in the engines, then they will loose the ability to move. Take out there deflector dish and they loose special abilities. I guess I just want STO to be more like the tv show.
Long Term 2- I don't know if this is realistic or not. But I'd love to have a PVP game mode, where you can have your friends all on your bridge or ship with you, all working there stations, one working weapons, one working shields, one commanding, one working in the medical bay, or whatever. Like on the show. Bunch of people working together on one ship to survive. I know it's unrealistic, but I just want to put it out there.
Long term 3- Home worlds. I'd like a place I can go to to call my home. Wether it's a home world or a place on earth with a house or something. Maybe create a sector in space with random planets that we can create a planet, or create a home on the planet.
Long term 4- last one I promise, lol, not trying to be greedy. I'd like there to be a sector where it's completely PVP, kind of like eve online, everyone on one server, all battling for there factions, ect.
they can wear mini skirts, buying the TOS uniform unlocks 1 of them and the other 2 i think there already there. and the quests do tell you where to go if you actually look at the grant mission text
The ability to assign my own crew as First Officer, Head of Security, Science/Chief Medical Officer, and Head of Engineering; and have them stationed in the (XO) chair beside the captains chair, (HoS) at the security station, (HoE) down in engineering, and (CMO) in sick bay. And have my Head of Engineering offer ship repair kits (minor and major) and other ship related items, while my Chief Medical Officer can offer heal kits (minor and major) and other items such as shield recharges and Hypos, and with my Executive officer I can maybe go to them and either have them as way I can look at my Duty Roster and make changes there or have them as a way to access other things instead of clicking on it (you know just for the RP of it all).
Mid Term
The ability to select an officer by clicking on them and the I can right click a console or other activating devices, that I once had to activated myself, and have that officer do the work. In other words, I am captain and I should be giving orders not doing all the work. AND maybe since now there is Engineering, Medical, and Tactical optional side quests or the need to have an Engineer, Science/Medical, and or Tactical to complete those side quests, I can now choose what type of officer I need to go down to the surface and with the "Select Officer and (right click) Delegate Commands" I can use my Officers to complete these objectives. Maybe my Head of Engineering can be the one I need for an engineering issue and have it where he is the one that needs to go to the surface if the objective calls for it and any other Engineering Officer could not do the task like the Head of Engineering could do it, in other words they would be no different than a science or tactical officer doing the task. And so forth if I need a medic or a science objective done, and a Tactical objective as well.
Long Term
The ability to set a course and travel to that destination with only load screens and with out the need of a pop up from my BO asking if I m sure I want to travel to that sector of space. I mean are they questioning my orders? :P
2.And if this can be possible then why not have it where I can set a course, from the bridge and travel there the same as if I was outside my ship.
3. AND if this can be possible why not have others on my ship who can travel there with me and when we get there, maybe at first, their ships would still be there (invisible of course not actually in tow behind the ship they are on) for them to beam to, but eventually, they would have to leave their ships at the place in which they was beamed board and then get passage back to their ship. The ship does not have to be always visible to where they left their ship, it could be said it is in space dock or in orbit around a planet and when you get back to where ship was logged to be at, the option will appear to beam back to ship and the the player will see their ship again.
*RUMOR ALERT*
I hear tells of when we reach Fleet Admiral, we will be able to have some of our own ships in tow to simulate a Fleet. If this has any truth to it then maybe the other players who are on another vessels COULD have their ship in tow behind the ship they are on.
Bonus:
Make it where other captains (players) can man a station, even if at first it is just for RP with out actual abilities or duties to perform. BUT eventually; make it where if your in the Engineering station you make sure the hull is at 100%, and Science station makes sure the shields are up, and Tactical station you are the one who makes sure power to the weapons and Helm would steer the ship or just select what enemy is targeted via Captains orders. Captains orders, for whoever takes that role, would require the "captain"/player to click on an ability of the player manning that station and the player who is in that station has 3 to 5 seconds to also click that ability of theirs to get bonus to that ability. Now each station brings with it their own abilities so if you are going to take the science station what abilities do you have? If it is Science Teams, Tractor Beam, Sensor Scan, and etc; Then that is what your abilities you bring to the table. Likewise for Engineering and Tactical.
This would only work in PvE at first or make missions specific to this set up, but it would be cool to actually or eventually do this for PvE, and PvP. Maybe it could be implemented as one ship against one ship, 5 players on 5 players, since you would have to have 5 in your team when Queuing up for these type of PvP matches. What makes you feel the victory and the comradeship better than you coming out of a ship to ship battle and it was your combined efforts on ONE ship and ONE crew to win a battle.
I know it might be hard to do with a physical representation of two ships fighting each other but maybe the battle can take place on screen between both ships but the whole battle will play out like a paper, rock, scissors game or card game. Based off the numbers of what each officer is spec'd at will determine how much hull they heal or how much damage eject warp plasma does, if your spec'd in those abilities and what your level in those specs are as an Engineer, and etc for the other stations/officers.

Doing a great job, btw. STO has come a long way from my Beta days and I can only imagine what the future holds for us. The imagination of what could be, the anticipation of all that is out there, and based off some of the other posts here I get so excited just thinking about what is in store for us around each corner, around each sector of space, amongst the stars.

How about a Holodeck; where the player can play the roll, either on the federation side or the enemy's side (allowing the player to man a Romulan Bird of Prey, Dominion cruiser, or a Tactical cube) in some of Star Trek's historic battles; Wolf 359, Dominion Wars, and etc, and eventually have the holodeck option on your ship maybe down with the crew quarters. While eventually, other holodeck options such as places to visit, maybe set up your own missions either on ground or in space would be possible. Why can't the Foundry be accessed in the holodeck and then, viola, instant holodeck missions.
BETTER YET, why not make the Foundry THE holodeck, all you have to do is make a door on the crew quarters level, a door at DS9 (top floor where the Holosuits were), a door at ESD (bottom level, so you can fill up that ghost town we have down there), and etc. then STO would have its Holodeck/Suites.

Here's another idea, create a Dominion Empire and Tholian Empire Fronts with missions.

See the Specifications and view PIC #1, PIC#2, PIC#3 and PIC #4 below of a NEW concept of a large Heavy Battleship called "BIRD OF DEATH", bigger than a Negh'var and the Carriers, this is for the Klingon Tactical Character to die for. 1) When I get the chance to promote my bridge officers to Captain, I'd like to give them command of several of the ships I don't use but I still have in my inventory. As an Admiral, I'd like to have them fly their ships with mine and then use them in combat (i.e. giving orders for them to attack specific targets, cover me). Think of it like having an Away Team in space. Just a thought.

I would like to see, however, a listing of players for Top Achievements in the game. In the real world I come from, accomplishments are pointed out to honor the deed. Previous games I played listed Top 1000 in Rank, $$ Money Earned, (Here would be Energy Credits), PVE Kills, PVP Kills, and PVP Deaths. Just to name a few.
Players always took extra effort to get on the lists that were posted for Public Viewing.
With a list like that, there would be a record of even the Kills, and the Deaths in Ker'rat system.
This could really be relieved if I could export the ROSTER in the fleet controls. I could do comparisons on a monthly basis and see who is new, who is old, who holds what rank, who has not been on for a given time, etc.. As the fleet creator of Collective, this would be greatly helpful in determining who gets promoted when based upon their Star Fleet rank changes, when they joined, the last time that they were on and more. Nothing more than a simple export on the ROSTER would suffice for 80%+ of the management issues that we fleet commanders face. An automatic daily (a setting for the increment) that would be emailed or sent to a report area would be great. Creating an in-game reports would also be great. However, all of this can be accomplished with exports and using Excel or Calc.
Tying in the ROSTER with the CAPTAINS DATABASE by Captain and/or account would prove absolutely great, but that is another step past this. Please consider allowing an export of non-personal but fleet information to a spreadsheet so that we fleet commanders can base decisions upon Captains based upon the critera that each fleet commander sets up and upon the information available in the fleet roster.

Target Nearest Enemy hot key or bindable command. It would be lovely not to have to cycle frantically through a dozen enemies over 25 kliks away whilst three others are happily chewing on your shields - or alternatively spinning the camera frantically trying to click on one of the buggers. Did this not come up in Beta?
Make Admiral Quinn sit in his chair rather than stand on it, it's very unbecoming for a high ranking starfleet officer.
Mid Term:
Automatically switch to your basic duty uniform in non-combat situations. This would be great. STO breaks the Trek feel for me when I have to run about in Mass Effect style body armour, carrying a non Starfleet issue disruptor cannon and decked out in all manner of cyberwear. Whilst I can appreciate the gameplay implications of ever-increasing levels of weapons and armour, it would be nice if we could just wear our basic starfleet duty uniforms (or off-duty clothes) when not engaged in ground combat missions, such as gadding about Stations like Sol, DS9 , K7 or Memory Alpha or on your bridge/interior or on non-combat diplomatic missions. If nothing else, they may well be uniforms that have been purchased from the C Store and as a result of having to wear all this junk, you never get to see them.
When comparing an item in the inventory with an equipped item, have stats highlighted in green and red depending on wether they are better or worse than the compared stat. It's make it much easier to rread and compare.
Long Term:
Non-Humanoid races such as the Edosians like Lt Arex from the animated series. As a video game artist myself, I appreciate the volume of work this entails so it's definately a long term wishlist item

plyer owned starbases, available only to HIGH tier players but ehy get to command a station and a ship. like Sisko. I recommend a high rank, a hard mission and a large cost to get these but make them awesome.

2.) More strategic ship positioning other than simply "shield facing" or above/below target (related to previous point). An excellent example: Wrath of Khan. Use of sensor clouding nebulas in addition to alteration of placement within nebula to gain a tactical advantage. While not the only example, this is in the vein I am considering. Medium term goal

2. And, if characters can be admirals, then they should be able to promote their officers to captains. It would get :eek: complicated, but think of ground away missions - officers have abilities and are mostly autonomous, but they follow the character and work on the same mission. How about doing that in space? So an admiral character would have subordinate captains and ships, with the trained abilities carrying over, and the ships would follow along on 'away missions' in space,almost like pets. More realistic that way.
3. I know, I know, you already 'decided'... but not being able to turn all the way is very frustrating. Space is not two dimensional. It is three dimensional. So allow an option to 'unlatch' from up and down if someone wants to - that way those who think in two dimensions could still function, and those who think otherwise could be less frustrated. Also more realistic that way.
.... and since i know you aren't going to reverse your decree that the universe is flat: 4. Let vice admirals add fighter bays or side facing weapons. With the large cruisers that don't turn quickly, the sides get eaten up. There logically would be space and power on such a huge ship for more weapons. And escorts with more weapons would just be more... escorty. More bristly and ferocious. And fun.:D

Explanation:................. The d'k tahg (or Daqtagh) was the traditional Klingon warrior's knife. It consisted of a single, straight-edged primary blade and two curved secondary blades, which could be either fixed or hinged. It is commonly used in hand-to-hand combat, and had great ceremonial value in Klingon culture. The handle sometimes bore an emblem representing the members of its owner's house. It is intended to be for slashing, jabbing, thrusting and throwing weapon. Every STO player that I talk too about the Knife is looking forward to it as a special reward and are still waiting for this weapon since Season 1, please added in Season 4 in a Klingon new mission or in a Re-Mastered Klingon Front mission for the Klingon Empire.

Explanation:................. Their are Klingons wish to play the Doom Day Device as a Fleet Joint Action mission with the Federation. Recommend to have the Doom Day mission removed from the Federation Klingon Front Mission and relocated in the Eridani Sector Block somewhere in the middle of the Donatu Sector, so to have both Faction Federation and Klingons do a "JOINT FLEET ACTION", example of a combining of mission like the "Defend the Gamma Orion Sector Block and the Crystalline Entity" mission, their should be enough players from both Faction to take down this Doom Days Weapon down for the count and receive the same special rewards like the Special Torpedo to take down the Doom Day Machine.

Respectfully Request Cryptic and the Developers to have the Federation Klingon Front mission "Doom Day Device" remove and create a Joint Fleet Action and then relocated in the Eridani Sector Block somewhere in the middle of the Donatu Sector, so to have both Faction Federation and Klingons do a "JOINT FLEET ACTION", their should be enough players from both Faction to take down this Doom Days Weapon down for the count. Hopefully there is a High level item drop, some Emblem points, accolade and a Trophy for this mission. To give this an incentive, I think Cryptic you should make this a Ten (10) Emblem reward mission, that will attract a lot of warriors to the field of battle. Explanation:............... When creating the Gorn Character for the first time as a main character, it has the option of many traits to choose from like to bite as a ground melee weapon strike, the Gorn Bridge Officer does not have this trait. Recommend to add the Bite traits to the Gorn Bridge Officer for a ground melee strike weapon, many Bridge Officers has special traits to combat there foes in battle example the Reman has Mental Burst and Superior Telepath Traits.
