My ship names are all after women I know, knew, or dated. Though the names change, the Designation Number does not. For the women I named a ship after, I did so as a dedication to them.

Miranda Class - USS S. Wess NCC 9346
    Constitution Class - USS A. Herrick NCC 912083 - A
    Constitution Refit - USS J. Presley NCC 912083 - B
    Dakota Class - USS E. Royce NCC 912083 - C

Ship names for my alternate Captain will have a different theme behind them, but probably something similar.

The first was taken from the legendary Wings that Cross Time, from Chrono Trigger. The second, well, I'm going for a timely theme.

I play star wars galaxies as my main game and since May 3rd 2005 have run a very large guild there. Even today we have over 447 members inc alts who have logged on in the last 90 days.

As you can imagine, as deputy guild leader and one of servers main traders and mayors gameplay gets abit hectic. STO is my get away from it all 2nd game lol.

My guild on SWG is called Unity so my ship in SWG is USS Unity
    Makes sense i guess :)

My ship is the U.S.S. Rainbow Warrior. It is a Tactical ship in a LGBT Fleet. So I thought it was fitting.

The name comes from the Greenpeace ship(s) with the same name.

I have a few new ones for a science captain I've created:

USS Terra Nova: named after the Antarctic Expedition lead by Robert Scott. Could also be named after the first human colony established outside the Terran solar system, as seen in ENT.

USS Concepcion: one of the ships in Ferdinand Magellan's fleet that attempted to circumnavigate the globe.

USS Resolution: the ship James Cook helmed during his final voyage.

USS Godspeed: One of the three ships, along with Discovery and Mary Constant, that moved carried settlers to what eventually became the Jamestown colony.

USS Atlantis: named after both the fabled city and the space shuttle.

Sichuan is a province in southwestern China, where one of the most devastating earthquakes of modern time took place in 2008, just a few weeks before the Olympic Summer Games started in Beijing.

I named my Escort in memory of the 70.000 casualties - U.S.S. Sichuan
