Either need a nerf or something its kind of annoying that in away missions even if thier the ony one left they bascially attempt to TRIBBLE the player and almost completely ignores your away mission team. and usually its a one or 2 hit kill when they use thier melee weapon... only tip I can give to any new players use your away team as sacrificial lambs get behind him and use a special attack.. but I hate having to do that.. lol
Focus Fire command with your away time. Works every time. Oh and use your ability to roll and move.
i think the simple solution to this problem is to go outside get some friends and ask them to play with you. Then you dont have the problem of having to solo flank.

LOL how far did you get in the game, Romulan space was no challenge at all
LOL how far did you get in the game, Romulan space was no challenge at all
hehe, let me rephrase I guess. It isn't challenging by any means. However, you will not be able to go afk in Romulan space while your team kills everything.
So I was taking on Swordmasters on in Broken Planet instance today, killed quite a few. They were not cake but they weren't impossible.
I was wearing MK IV Shield, suit and kit. Using a Sniper Rifle MK IV.
They are not impossible to kill. A few occasions they were accompanied with a Warrior. I would take down the Warrior first while using terrain to keep me out of shot of the SM. Then take him on. I died probably 1 to 1 with the SM. It seems to me, its how you play your character. Play it smart and you can win. Play it dumb and you die a lot.
if anything the Rom Centaurs make SM's look easy. That is with using Focus Fire and having MK V gear/weapons and the away team using their T2 abilities.
Swordmaster, Romulan Centurion and Cardassian Legarte are annoying, but not hard. the rest of the mobs are just low damage with insane high HP.
Please reduce their HP and increase their damage it'd be more challenge if it's a one shot exploit kill for both sides
ur exploting by breaking the cool down timer. By switching out weapons your going around having to wait to use a weapons special attack that is consdiered an exploit. And they will nerf it eventually when they see everyone using it but enoguh of this am in game playing lol so enjoy the forum .
What are you talking about its called EXPLOIT attack in game you use an expose attack then you exploit that expose,
It is how they designed the system. No one is doing anything wrong by doing this its how you play the game .

I have no problems in combat against these NPC's. They are not that tough.
Wow. I have never seen soo many cryptic censors in a thread. I obviously can't see what's being said that's getting censored but after having to deal with trolling on my crafting thread I can understand to some extent your frustration.
But in all honesty and not to be a jerk, these are Klingon Officers.... They got to that point because they lived through enough encounters to climb through the ranks over top of the dead bodies of their crewmates that didn't have what it takes.
I use a phaser machine gun kinda weapon and mark2 armor and level2 shielding and I don't really die to them at all. Now if my bo's nub up and aggro 3 pulls worht I die, but that's more of a stupid AI pet trick and not due to difficulty. So check your gear and make sure you're hand me downs go to your bo's. I found having them equipped with descent weapons at least helps alot.

I want a phaser machine gun. Heck I want a photon launcher TRIBBLE a machine gun
These days I find there's no enemy encounter that can't be easily dealt with, unless you've ludicrously neglected the equipment of your away team. Heck, I wasn't even bothering with armour at all (shields only) because I hadn't yet discovered you could hide it from your costume!
The solution is largely to ignore everyone telling you ground combat is like, so totally easy dude, and you can totally faceroll it. Because you can't. You just have to keep your team together, and make heavy use of the 'all attack my target' command to get the often shielded, vastly more dangerous enemies dealt with first and while you're all still in good condition. I also have a preference for having my team set up around a corner and dragging enemies round into them. Ground combat is as easy as everyone says it is when you do it properly, if you don't it'll just be really easy in missions with almost nothing but the lowest level minions, and then you'll get utterly skullthumped as soon as guys like Swordmasters and Klingon Officers turn up with their entourage.

I don't recall the name, but one of my officers has a disruptor version of this. When he unleashes the special attack it's amazing to watch.
I actually enjoy seeing the stronger NPCs in groups. It makes me use tactics instead of just running around doing crazy things trying to kill weak enemies as fast as possible. Variety is nice.
Ground combat got a lot easier once I learned how to watch for the Expose indicator and to save my Exploit attacks. Swordmasters don't last too long if you have your team focus fire them down, and you wait it out for him to get exposed, and then vaporize his face. Then mop up the rest.
Yeah I'm not going to say l2p or anything like that because it is a learning curve to be sure. Of which I'm still learning. But I personally believe the officer mob strength is appropriate. Like I said above you might really want to look at your gear and switch out pieces here and there. Starbase 24's ground rescue mission is where I farmed some descent guns. Also the vulcan ambasador (undine) quest that you get at Spacedock is a good one too. And with these quests being repeatable you should be good to go after a few runs through. Just make sure you pay attention to the "MK" rank. I blew that off as it looked like a minor upgrade in dps between MK1 and MK2 but turns out I noticed it.
I'm still trying to figure out why they gave us 2 weapon slots if we're not supposed to use them. Can you answer that for us ajac. It seems to me that if I have 2 places to hold weapons I should be able to use 2 weapons. If there is only 1 special for each weapon why would I EVER have to switch to the weapon in the other slot cryptic gave me? Why don't we all just have 1 slot then?
