sorry but I dont think the devs inteded for the player to go around cool downs by using 2 devastating attacks in seconds of each other beyond the fact that completely breaks ground combat its TRIBBLE. I see why u think ground combat is easy ur palying the system. But they will nerf it and I think this because I dont think this was intended. but come on flame me some more I dont care just gonna report it since its just moving this thread way beyond topic and their gonna lock it and server out bans warnings and such anyway. hopefully not before I put my video up.

another thing to note is that you can set your away team to assist you. Click on the aim reticle where the team portraits are when you have yourself selected and your away team will attack whatever you do.

I do this with most my away team having expose weapons and I focus the biggest threat and usually get an exploit attack on it which makes the rest of the battle easier.

hell yeah man, i love the sword master fights, my away team is pimped to the nines with ecent weapons and armour and ive trained the properly, if u have a clue how to play u can kill them easy:)

Look like a certain one love the attention, won't admit he's wrong, and is stubborn for wrong reasons. Not a desirable person to be around, it seems.

Anyhow, is there anyone in this thread so far that have agreed with your position, Ajac?

why does it matter? Its the internet and your nobody... but when they nerf it wonder if people will still think the game is so easy. Oh well you kind of people will always find a way to cheat the system and I hope when they read this thread and see so many people doing it they nerf it .

If they make weapons have a global countdown (all ground weapon specials, in all circumstances) I'll publically admit that the devs are as troubled as ajac... until then, it's an intended game mechanic by devs that seem competent and well adjusted in life.

2 devestating attacks in seconds= game breaking and hope it gets nerfed. Somethings I can deal with but people that abuse the system I wont. But enjoy it while it lasts and while this thread lasts still in shock its not closed yet I downer if their getting more info about this "feature"

What are you talking about? Swordmasters and Officers are just tough, not impossible.

Order all team members to fire at the Swordmasters as they run toward your position, lay down mines, boom. shoot him some more then you have one toast Swordmaster.

Officers are pretty much the same way.

How is it an abuse when EVERYONE can use it with ease, no cheat, no trick, no bug?

Do you even know what are you talking about ?? Do you understand what Expose and Exploit is IN GAME?

Expose does not have any benefit except using Exploit on it! And you cant do Exploit if you dont switch weapons!
Waiting for your stupid BOs to do Exploit is idiotic, you can only gear them up so they do Expose more often.

Expose is NOT devastating attack it does NO DMG if Exploit is not aplied after it!

What part of it dont you understand??!
Right, you can't one shot the opponent or take down a huge chunk of his HP if you don't use BOTH expose and exploit attacks. It's enough that you need two weapons or have your away team have enough of expose weapons to do it.

its abuse as I said many many times that your breaking the cool down. Your not ment to do 2 devastating attacks withen seconds of each other. Their needs to be a global timer .

congratulations on another epic report fail.

Thank you for the video that completely contradicts yourself cause you apparently had no trouble with the sword master, so again it just proves your talking rubbish and being a troll.

    Thank you again

I like the fact that they single in on you. Heck you single in on them, right?

W/o them going after me, the away missions would be sleep worthy easy.

what I find funny about them is of all the klingon npcs they are the only ones that fight like true klingons lol I had one rush us the other day completely ignored my team went for me so i a running jumping all over the place till I can critical him and kill him but man sometimes its to close for comfort.

Personally, I like them as they are. They offer a good challenge and make you use your BO skills and take advantage of positioning. I have my BO's equipped with expose weapons that are aoe and explode. They tend to knock them down a lot and expose numerous enemies and I use a multi beam exploit to hit the officer/swordmaster and whatever warriors are open. I usually take out 2 or so in my first volley this way. Make sure that you're not in aim mode when they get up in your face.

The overwatch ability is nice to have as well since it'll reduce the damage from strikes. Also make sure that you're properly equipped when fighting Klingons. Keep shields or armor that resist disruptors and melee damage. I usually keep 2 or 3 sets of armor on my character depending on my targets.

Reported for reporting too much. LOL!

No, seriously....have you figured it out yet? 'cause I went around and killed about 30 swordmaster NPCs to see if I could possibly fail at it at all.

Unfortunately, even when I just stood there after drawing aggro and not telling my bridge officers to focus fire, I still couldn't die.

    <shrug>

You must be doing it wrong.

I actually find Swordmasters and other officers to be easy, at least easier than they were during OB. What was does need a nerf (if it hasn't been done already) is Klingon Officers. Not the "Officers", Klingon Officers. I would have my entire away team firing on that guy, plus the random Fed NPCs in the mission, and it would hardly dent his shields. And he was -1.

Yup, that's what I do too, send in my disposable redshirts, er, Away Team members into the fight first: after a shot or two, I open up.

If they aggro on me sometimes I'll kite them while the rest of my away team shoots the Swordmaster in the back. The Swordmaster has disruptors that he shoots you with but obviously its only when he gets into melee range that he becomes painful.

I'm also experiementing with my own Swordmaster - a male Klingon tactical officer with the melee type skills like Leg Sweep and Lunge and carrying a bat'leth. Previously I had my Klingon officer use disruptors but then I caught him crouched down in a corner behind a box shooting the Swordsman on me in the back. Not very Klingon-like!

Having said all that, Swordmasters will definitely pwn your face if you're not careful. Oh and don't forget to use or aquire holds and placates, those definitely help too.

I find the Swordmasters incredibly easy. The only time I have ever been defeated in ground combat, is against Nausicaans. At the time I failed to check if the random exploration mission had spawned them too high level, but their Heavy and Elite types were at a bull**** level of ranged attack power.

As a Vulcan, I love the Swordmasters. I just Mind Meld them and then they turn on their own team and take out the entire group. Once they are done doing my dirty work I just tell my Away team to concentrate fire on them and they drop pretty quick.

That is pretty fun... would be more fun if the battle was challenging w/o doing so. But it is a pretty sweet racial ability.

Either need a nerf or something its kind of annoying that in away missions even if thier the ony one left they bascially attempt to TRIBBLE the player and almost completely ignores your away mission team. and usually its a one or 2 hit kill when they use thier melee weapon... only tip I can give to any new players use your away team as sacrificial lambs get behind him and use a special attack.. but I hate having to do that.. lol

Lawls Im having no issue with this.

The way swordmaster and offers work is fine just the trick is to focus you away team on them first. The I generally just kit them around and kill them. If you have a Engineer with shield recharge and Science officer with Medical Trycorder and you will never have an issue.

its trolling if you read the rules of trolling its their and been reported also flamming as well.. and flanking and exposes dont work to wel when the enemy automatically faces you when u barely look in their direction main reason I sent in the npcs first can get at least one shot off before they turn,

Never had any problems with ground combat, as long as you manage your away team properly, maybe invest some extra points in Shield Recharge and Medical Tricorder.....?

I think the problem is more your playing style then anything else, evidence in the reply's from other players.

And to be behind cover works fine, you take less damage, does not mean you will not get hit.
