Very glad that the gam edevelopers are actually trying to interact with the fan base and likely player base. I'm excited about this game and hoping that it turns out to be everything it can be. Star Trek has long been a favorite of mine, and I've wanted a quality Star Trek game for a long time. I remain optomistic from what I have seen and read here so far. <sigh> next fall is so far away.
I know that i speak for most avid gamers, myself, star trek fans and again myself myself myself when i say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOu for picking up and continuing the star trek online. I will fully admit that when i first read awhile back that the game was discontinued by the prior production company that i was just devastated. I am an avid online gamer, I played Everquest for 7 years before i got fed up with all the problems and now i play WoW which i have played for several years, i tried Star Wars but i didnt like it that much it strayed waay to much from all the story lines.
I was soooo looking forward to star trek online, the shows i have loved since i was a baby. I can remember all the way back to Kirk's first voyage. I remember star trek and loved it before the trekkies came on board. due to my Aunt who goes to all the sci-fi cons. I was just in tears when i head it was trashed and then i seen it in Game Informer that you all picked it up. I know that i am hoping you all finish it quickly and VERY QUICKLY so that i can quit all my other online games and just become the next Captain Janeway and explore the vastness of space online.
Now i am in tears of happiness because i see my dreams, hopes of fun becoming reality once again. I plan on going where exploring where no man or woman has gone before.
I will be one of the first people online to play this game. Im sure you had 1000 people to say they will beta test for you, but go ahead and put me on that list. Like a couple people said you wont be hard pressed to fine customers. Their is a massive about of people that cant wait like me.:D
I know im adding to the thousands of people who have mentioned it, but i also cannot wait for it to come out. In a case like this, how many beta testers are used? and the time period that the game is beta tested?
Heck yeah! Watching Star Trek Enterprise and it's sooo awesome
Soon i will have season 1 and 2 as i buy them from play.com "assuming they can be bought from there".
To put it simply I've been a trek fan ever since, I boldly explored star trek on TV and movies as a kid back in the 70's thru the 80's and into TNG , then Voyager. I look forward to seeing this world next as an MMO
STO is *x's fingers* gonna be great, with the fanbase of Star Trek combined with other gamers i forsee an awesome community,...almost cant wait<reads into freezing himself until next year>:)
If I recall correctly the Orion Pirates joined the Klingon Empire so if you side with the Klingons you can have an Orion character (I don't work for Cryptic so I'm only guessing based on what's been published in articles and on the web so far).
As for being a Beta Tester - asking in threads is called Beta Begging and that goes from being ignored to being put on a no list depending on the company. When Cryptic's ready for Beta Testing they'll let the community know and also how we can then beg appropriately for their blessing to play with their toys before everyone else.
Im Really glad that there is a StarTrek Online game. Its been so long for what seems to be such an really fun game. But the question is when is it avalible for Beta Testing.. I have played all of the Startrek Games avalible to my knowledge and it would be great to test the game.
I really hope STO turns out to be more "user friendly" than, say, WoW in the way people communicate. For instance in WoW on many communication channels there is rampant foul language, homophobia, sexism, and forget it if your new to the game and have a question-you'll get burned more than you'll get help. Point is, the game is only as good as the people you play with and i really hope the community will understand this.
That's the player base and not the gaming company that behavior like that falls on. There's only so much censorship that a gaming company can do to limit people being people.
Great job guys !!!! The future looks very promising now. I would love to be considered for the beta testing, have tried for several other games but have not been successful. Think it would be an honor to be part of something as fantastic as this ! Johnnythick@yahoo.com
