I've been playing MMORPG's for quite some time. There has always been one thing that bothers me about every single one so far: The fact that number crunchers rule the game and the RPG portion of MMORPG goes to the wayside. I'm hoping that this one will break that mold. Nothing is more tiresome than raid parties for special loot with rainbow warriors who only equip themselves with the top of the line items and mock you for not following their methods.
I've never been a huge fan of Star Trek, but after watching that Q&A video from August, I'm getting very interested. Cryptic seems to be trying to do its best to eliminate the number crunching and capitalize on the RPG through the massive fan base that is Star Trek. I only hope that it will last. I do wish we had a better ballpark launch window than the three years given in that Q&A though. How about narrowing it down to a year? 2009? 2010? 2011?

I just listened to Jack Emmert in the webcast. It felt very good to see a guy that looked like he you where he was going! Liked his style, very firm and sure of himself in the questions.

I can remember the excitement i felt when i found out that there would be a Star Trek MMO. It is undoubtably the best and most interactive way to connect Star Trek fans of all types.

I am very glad to be a part of thiis community. I can't wait to start wandering around my own starship. I hope that Crptic will allow me to particapate in the beta test.
I'm still so excited about this game, even 6 months or so after it's announcement. Cryptic, will you trade my Champions Online Beta test for a Trek Beta Test? lol.
It is absolutely amazing to see the screenshots and the trailer for a game that I could only have dreamed of! I heard about this developing project about a month, or so, ago and have been trying to stay abreast of information as it came out... This was tough to do as I wasn't getting the e-mails that I could have been getting had I realized that the forums were open to fan of the series and MMO enthusiasts alike a little sooner!
I am looking forward to getting the chance to interact with Star Trek in a whole new way. I have been a fan ever since Star Trek: TNG and, although I wasn't able to make it out to the Las Vegas Hilton for the unveiling of The Star Trek Experience, I have always wanted to have a chance to get even deeper into the universe that Gene Roddenberry envisioned, pioneered and deployed for us all to enjoy.
Cryptic, I'd like to say thank you for the kind welcome, for the services you're providing during the development of this title, for realizing the potential of this particular title and for continuing to bring this dream into the light.
I've seen great things from this site so far and I know it can only get better as the finishing touches are applied. Keep up the great work everybody!
I have been bounceing all over the other thread lines and finally made it here.
I have to say that I am impressed, awed and very thankfull. There is a whole world of fans out there that are expressing ideas in the forums. If the game is even half as promising it is going to be awsome.
Again thanks Cryptic from a life long Trekkie that watched the very first episode when it aired. Yeah I am getting old!
Thanks Cryptic for taking this on! I was following the previous devs but to tell the truth I am thrilled to see that you have picked this up and ran with it! Looking forward to trying out the new game when it is time!!
