I don't think it's likely they will mess with the difficulty again so soon after the skills revamps. I think those were done in preparation for the various power sellbacks that were in the pipeline.

It's interesting. I'm stronger now than I ever have been before. Even stronger than the pre-first plasma nerf. And stronger than before DR. I guess it's due to completely eliminating defense and maxing particles, which I felt obliged to do with the skill revamps.

Wow...still hoping for a Cardassian faction but perhaps they at least could make them playable?

Level cap increase to 65, new queue, new progression systems, and will add a Sector Battlezone, a new gameplay feature that takes players into a war between the stars to save the Gamma Quadrant.

Not bad...Kudos to whoever came up with the Jems as a new faction. Just hoping they update the box ships to go along with it?

In addition to these new cast members and features, Victory is Life will raise the Star Trek Online level cap to 65, introduce a new queue, new progression systems, and will add a Sector Battlezone, a new gameplay feature that takes players into a war between the stars to save the Gamma Quadrant. We’ll have more information on all of these features very soon, and we can’t wait for you to experience them.

Okay from the twitch stream I've gleaned, Jem'hadar do have a tuitoral mission (which didn't sound like one of the 6 episodes), you start off with one ship, you as a Jem'hadar start off as part of the Dominion, you will be able to play previous episodes, they won't say if they've redone DS9, but if they have it's size won't change, the sector battle ground is in actual sector space, but the fighting isn't, and that is was influenced by how people where saying they wanted the Iconian war to feel like an ongoing war. The Jem'hadar will have their own UI interface and colour palette. They can't talk about other species right now then the Jem'hadar so they couldn't confirm or deny Vorta or Cardassians (speculation, that might not be finalized yet), Jem'hadar PC models are done and very custimzable and has been redone (including for NPC Jem'hadar,, except maybe for our 2400 Jem'hadar Boffs, it uncertain), the playable Jem'hadar can wear Hawiiaan t-shirts. They can't answer about T6 Vorcha (it appears it's a question they get a lot), highest rank will remain Fleet Admiral (they only raise the rank every 10 levels with one exception), it won't take too long to level from 60 to 65. No Jem'hadar females.

Jem'hadar faction does still have professions (Tac, Sci, Eng). My funny jokes about T6 Vorta. No T7 or T6U in this expansion.

Oh and the Odo voice over from the current episode will be redone, they just used what they used because they hadn't had him in the Studio.

Wow!!!! For years I have spent hours of nostalgia on DS9. DS9 was my fav trek series outside the original movies. So I for one am excited to have a revamp of DS9 & our beloved characters returning...

    Here are some ideas for the expansion. Share yours below;

    - Updated Defiant hull.

    - Dual quantum torpedo launchers (as seen when defiant would fire.)

    - Ds9 fleet holding along with habitat ring where some iconic crew quarters can be unlocked (pure gluttony for rpg'ers) In Ds9 fleet holding Odos office is where you get fleet ground equipt. Quarks you get contraban devices. Ops you get ships consoles and weapons at Obriens station.

    - fleet quad phaser pulse cannons.

    - Breen energy dampening torpedo.

    - Maquis sabbotage trait.

    - updated tng, ds9 uniforms. (more screem accurate.)

    - change the federation transporter effect to look like the tng movie beaming effect for starfleet.

    - prophetic insight trait: from interacting with sisko & wormhole aliens. (can give debuff when outnumbered.)

    - updated phaser beams and hand weapons to be more screen accurate. Perhaps a hero type 2 phaser from ds9/first contact era.

    - Home run trait: speed & maneuvers while rapid weapons fire to allow your ship to pull off a sisko style close range attack.

    - here batta'batta ground trait: threat increase with dmg increase.

    - kallamereign count to 4 emote..

    - Fleet operations specialization tree. (to play off Admiral Ross and Sisko's work during dominion war arch)

    - Screen accurate Runabout interior for small craft, linked to a mission.

    - fiest contact vest with division turtle neck shirt and rank as uniform unlock/sale.

    - vorta ability to call in a security team causes jem hadar to decloak and attack.

    - functional wormhole.

Obviously I left out jem hadar suggestions as Im sure most cardassian/jem hadar content is already done and original.

My ideas here focus more on federation items to both enhance some old parts of the game and bring some more genuine ds9 feeling to the game. Id love to see an accurate first contact phaser fire an orange beam with intense bloom and when it hits target it has a chance of knock back but when knock back happens a dramatic plume of sparks fly off the enemy as theyre hit by the beam. Ds9 made phaser beams look so much more real and dangerous...

The Cardie ship in the promo is a Keldor. Since it reminds me of a Galor and a Keldon.. >.>

Edit: I also have to say I am excited for this expansion.
The Rising of the Delta is the best expansion ever, and people love it to death because it is a good day to die in the endless struggle for supremacy of your own conviction. (A spin off of the Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and all the players love it.)

it has been pointed out before: there is no Need for a Level cap raise.
The specialisation trees should have replaced the Need for a higher Level cap. Higher Level cap probably means higher Tier gear (yeah, more grinding and spending Dilithium), and potantially at some Point higher Tier ships (yeah, all the Money invested now only gets me seconds rate gear). The former is annoying, the latter disastrous. Why?
Well, I got the T5 Andorian escort pack for 50 Euros or so, now they released the T6 Andorian pack which is the same but better. So I could spend more Euros to get that pack and wait for the T7 Version to be included for an even higher Price and finally a T8,T9 and T10 Version, which you get for one kidney....I am on the brink of leaving the game as it has become too grindy. They could at least add a reduced Zen Price upgrade Version - say you have the T5 Scimitar pack then you get the T6 scimitar pack at half Price.

The new playable faction will a) get me interessted again, b) Keep me buisy when levelling up through specialisation trees and c) doesn't devalue all my other characters.

So mixed Feelings: yeah, new faction and maybe playable Cardassians soon. Level Cap...not needed and potantially game destroying. But as always: hard to judge yet on the few Information given.

I have most T5 and T6 ships - except LB ships - the threat of incoming T7 ships (with another cap raise) means that I will probably not buy a Dominion package when they bring out the new Season.

On another note: they have Long claimed they couldn't do Cardassian/Dominion playable faction due to some ships already being in the game as LB ships. The new Zen versions of those ships will be different though, as no ZEN ships have more than one specialisation, while some LB ships do have that.
    18 characters
    KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis
    FED: 2 tacs, 1 eng, 2 scis
    TOS: 1 tac
all on T5 rep (up to temporal)
all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)
    highest DPS: 60.982

since last year before "agents of yesterday" was released they had this (temporal agent pack) for pre-oder with all the starter ships along t6 ships. Also has costumes and ingame titles was wandering if there is gonna be one for "victory is life" expansion pack as well?

I think there is, but you'll have to wait for details.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I enjoyed DR as it was, and it was people afraid of effort that complained the most. They should never have changed it, especially the patrol side-missions.
I saw a only a portion of my original comment buried in your post so will add some context.

To be clear and complete, I'm not complaining about DR and am definitely not afraid of a little effort. I actually enjoyed the higher difficulty enemies and the challenge they provided at the time.

However for a significant number of people who were more casual players the xp gaps and enemy difficulty increase caused them enough frustration to leave the game. I'm not the first person to state this by a long shot. As a member of many fleets and leader of a couple I find it more than just a coincidence that many roster last in-game dates appear to correlate with the release of DR. This is most likely why they fixed those xp gaps.

Criticizing the game or it's designers seems to draw a fair bit of flack here but don't take it the wrong way. It's quite possible that sometimes criticism stems from caring for the game and it's future and hoping past missteps aren't repeated. Another DR wouldn't be healthy for the game.

I got what you meant, but you overstated the fact that people left in droves...they didn't, and you can't prove it by anecdotal evidence. But the point I need to make is, this game needs challenging content that can't be solved by space-bar alone. My only other bug-bears with the Dev's is how ship load-outs are handled and their lax approach to AFK'ing.

I'm pleased about the details of Victory is Life that have been revealed so far and will be curious about the other returning voice cast. While I am surprised that the faction did not turn out to be Cardassian, I will enjoy having the Jem'Hadar faction. I wonder if the faction will include a number of options (like our current ones do) giving us not only Jem'Hadar soldiers but Vorta and/or Changelings as well?

Threads merged. Let's try to keep things contained as much as possible so we don't have a ton of duplicate threads and can keep any answers that may be given by the devs in one area here in GenDisc.

Level cap increase is lame and completely unneeded. We dont need to get stronger, STO is already at the point where a person can clear a 5 man elite STF single handedly in under 2 mins. Seriously we dont need gear upgrades beyond mk14, we dont need more levels. Just add a new faction, different ships and weapons, new specializations, new boff powers, new races thats the stuff we need.

And if anyone at cryptic gets the bright idea of T6.5-T7 ships they should be skinned alive for that stupidity. I went through the T5-T6 change and watching entire fleets of my starships become dust collectors over night is NOT something I will ever sit through again to keep playing. That will be the day I delete STO from my drive. And this comes from someone who has been here since before launch, and has spent a fair amount of money on this game.

Level cap increases are the laziest way to progress the game. Oh look 10 more lvls 5 more lvls 10 more lvls, people hate that, no one looks forward to going "Hey I get to lvl all my toons 5-10 more levels AGAIN!" with a smile on their face. It just exhausts the playerbase and drains their will to even play, 1/2 the people lvl up their toons then are so burnt out they just stop playing for 3-6months.

Instead of doing **** like that, i donno maybe fix carriers AI. Maybe make sure all the weapons in the game actually work right, cause a whole bunch dont. Or fix tetryons proc cause it only gets a chance to fire 1 time per cycle and not per pulse like all the other procs. I heard Kurland is here..... still....

    ^^ 100% This!

If Geko thinks I'm going to upgrade all my weapons yet again, then he has finally gone completely mental. The same goes for T7.

Look they CAN put in a T6U or T7 and they don't have to go back on their word. They introduced the Miracle worker ships with a "Special Feature" of a extra console slot - universal - and some extra hull I think. So essentially it meets the established "definition" of a higher tier with the extra slot. All those lovely new Dominion or Cardi ships could also come with a "Special universal console slot" - but we just won't call them T7. If they do give them the slot and they are super cool - I would bet they sell LOTS of ship bundles.

but it wasnt long time ago when they reworked how leveling works and now level 65? im just confused on what will they add in those 5 levels or they will rework it again? i mean i dont want to see 50+10+5 system... make it 65 and after that specializations... that would be the best option.. but im too late for suggestions.
and certainly didnt see level cap increase and adding new faction
also feels weird for any jemhadar just to become fleet admiral... just like that? cant im full faction either... right?

They only mentioned Jem'Hadar. However, some think that perhaps they might add Cardassian species to the C store. If you want to play as a Vorta not sure but Changeling, Vorta and Jem'Hadar seems to be in alliance and your guess as good as mine.
Yeah one thing they specifically avoided talking about is what races would be available. We know there's Jem'Hadar, but the rest is unrevealed.

I believe that extra universal console was supposed to be the miracle worker equivalent of things like pilot maneuvers, temporal powers, etc, all the extra stuff that ships with a commander spec seat get. So any future ship with that extra console would have a Commander miracle worker seat, and no other kind ship will get that bonus. Personally I'd rather have an Intel seat than an extra console.
