Higher Level cap probably means [...] at some Point higher Tier ships

They said on Twitch yesterday that there are currently no plans to introduce T7 ships in any future update, but they don't want to flat out say it will never happen incase one day they do decide to do it.

Look they CAN put in a T6U or T7 and they don't have to go back on their word. They introduced the Miracle worker ships with a "Special Feature" of a extra console slot - universal - and some extra hull I think. So essentially it meets the established "definition" of a higher tier with the extra slot. All those lovely new Dominion or Cardi ships could also come with a "Special universal console slot" - but we just won't call them T7. If they do give them the slot and they are super cool - I would bet they sell LOTS of ship bundles.

I believe that extra universal console was supposed to be the miracle worker equivalent of things like pilot maneuvers, temporal powers, etc, all the extra stuff that ships with a commander spec seat get. So any future ship with that extra console would have a Commander miracle worker seat, and no other kind ship will get that bonus. Personally I'd rather have an Intel seat than an extra console.

The HP increase over similar cruisers was also marginal (5%). For a tier increase you're looking at something like 30%.

Well as far as what they do with the new ships - it is probably a given that they will come more powerful than existing ones. Some special power/seating/console etc Idon't think they will be as game changing as when they did LOR, but you never know. They could even come with battle cloak!! Jem Hadar took lots of rommie ships during the failed invasion, plus the Jem hadar have personal cloaks. They have lots of experience with cloaking tech now.

Whats the point of a dominion faction when they already ruined that by adding all ships to lockboxes in the past? It defeats the whole purpose of a faction to
    begin with.

Is this going to be another worthless 23rd century like toon grind?

Will it be a repeat of LoR with exclusive toys and 4% CritH and 20% CritD faction exclusive bridge officers?

If so, I’m leaning towards quitting.

Story, character, gameplay, and a fresh perspective.

(You know, those things which we gamers generally say we care about over specific grinding targets. You don't have to make a Jem'Hadar to use a dominion ship but that just opens up other character options.)

Me too. Specially because we are not getting new "jem hadar" ships i presume.

That's a HUGE presumption in light of the new Cardassian ship highlighted in some of the PR (Cryptic is not afraid to make new designs.)

It occurs to me that the Cardassian Flight Deck Cruiser we saw could be the Jem'hadar version of the Allied Flight Deck Assault Cruiser Bundle.

In which case we have a pretty good idea of what it's stats will be (five forward weapons for example). Even it's pets might be a Polaron/Cardassian version of the Cutpurse(Orion)/Veil (Orion)Fighters.

Possibly but it's worth pointing out that the Cardassians are a neutral faction in STO. Their ships could be plausibly offered to the FED, ROM, and KDF; making them the equilvanet of the 31st century time ships in the upcoming Victory is Life bundle.

I enjoyed DR as it was, and it was people afraid of effort that complained the most. They should never have changed it, especially the patrol side-missions.
I saw a only a portion of my original comment buried in your post so will add some context.

To be clear and complete, I'm not complaining about DR and am definitely not afraid of a little effort. I actually enjoyed the higher difficulty enemies and the challenge they provided at the time.

However for a significant number of people who were more casual players the xp gaps and enemy difficulty increase caused them enough frustration to leave the game. I'm not the first person to state this by a long shot. As a member of many fleets and leader of a couple I find it more than just a coincidence that many roster last in-game dates appear to correlate with the release of DR. This is most likely why they fixed those xp gaps.

Criticizing the game or it's designers seems to draw a fair bit of flack here but don't take it the wrong way. It's quite possible that sometimes criticism stems from caring for the game and it's future and hoping past missteps aren't repeated. Another DR wouldn't be healthy for the game.

I got what you meant, but you overstated the fact that people left in droves...they didn't, and you can't prove it by anecdotal evidence. But the point I need to make is, this game needs challenging content that can't be solved by space-bar alone. My only other bug-bears with the Dev's is how ship load-outs are handled and their lax approach to AFK'ing.

Am in complete agreement about challenging content that involves more than pushing the space bar.

I never did state that people left in droves over Delta Rising unless "significant" = "droves". I haven't any need to prove anything and provide "anecdotal" evidence as a point of interest only and for something that for many is considered common knowledge.

Really I shouldn't even have included or quoted you in a response as you hadn't directly quoted me. Twas just one simple statement I made at the start of the thread getting the Cryptic defender gang's knickers in a knot.

I'm looking forward to this expansion and hope it goes well and that this game remains healthy and prospers for years to come.

I wouldnt worry about T7 till they raise the level cap to 70. L50=T5, xpan bumped level to 60=T6.

I thought the whole point of specializations was so that they didn't have to do level cap increases.

it is from the way they were talking on the stream I'm guess the level cap increase is more cause it is expected then they wanted to and it wouldn't surprise me if it is used to ease you into what ever the new progression systm is kinda like how 50 - 60 is for specs.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Not opposed to bringing back Sisko. Am opposed to doing what the novels did with him and reducing him to just another Starfleet hero captain. I think as far as his relationship with the Prophets, they kinda need to leave well enough alone and deal with him as Sisko the Spiritualist rather than Sisko the Starfleet Officer.

Agreed - although I, personally, hate what they did with Ezri Dax even more.

No argument from me, I got pretty steamed when they used Super-Dax in a blog last year, too.

I think Geko said something about doing that for any future mini-factions a while back.

Personally, I'm not that t(h)rilled about revisiting the whole Bajoran arc again to begin with: been there, done that. But maybe we can get a decent bug ship out of it.

Wow!!!! For years I have spent hours of nostalgia on DS9. DS9 was my fav trek series outside the original movies. So I for one am excited to have a revamp of DS9 & our beloved characters returning...

    Here are some ideas for the expansion. Share yours below;

    - Updated Defiant hull.

    - Dual quantum torpedo launchers (as seen when defiant would fire.)

    - Ds9 fleet holding along with habitat ring where some iconic crew quarters can be unlocked (pure gluttony for rpg'ers) In Ds9 fleet holding Odos office is where you get fleet ground equipt. Quarks you get contraban devices. Ops you get ships consoles and weapons at Obriens station.

    - fleet quad phaser pulse cannons.

    - Breen energy dampening torpedo.

    - Maquis sabbotage trait.

    - updated tng, ds9 uniforms. (more screem accurate.)

    - change the federation transporter effect to look like the tng movie beaming effect for starfleet.

    - prophetic insight trait: from interacting with sisko & wormhole aliens. (can give debuff when outnumbered.)

    - updated phaser beams and hand weapons to be more screen accurate. Perhaps a hero type 2 phaser from ds9/first contact era.

    - Home run trait: speed & maneuvers while rapid weapons fire to allow your ship to pull off a sisko style close range attack.

    - here batta'batta ground trait: threat increase with dmg increase.

    - kallamereign count to 4 emote..

    - Fleet operations specialization tree. (to play off Admiral Ross and Sisko's work during dominion war arch)

    - Screen accurate Runabout interior for small craft, linked to a mission.

    - fiest contact vest with division turtle neck shirt and rank as uniform unlock/sale.

    - vorta ability to call in a security team causes jem hadar to decloak and attack.

    - functional wormhole.

Obviously I left out jem hadar suggestions as Im sure most cardassian/jem hadar content is already done and original.

My ideas here focus more on federation items to both enhance some old parts of the game and bring some more genuine ds9 feeling to the game. Id love to see an accurate first contact phaser fire an orange beam with intense bloom and when it hits target it has a chance of knock back but when knock back happens a dramatic plume of sparks fly off the enemy as theyre hit by the beam. Ds9 made phaser beams look so much more real and dangerous...

i think the possibility of any of that is exactly zero

    That is possible too.

Tier 7 ships are not a planned feature for Victory is Life.

Unless you hear them say specifically they're introducing t7s or even t6u assume it's nothing but rumor
