A new thing I'm starting up on these here forums - we're going to have "official" threads to gather any thoughts you guys had on major content releases. First up: Survivor. What did you think?
I was really surprised Sela tried to attack me. She should have learned by now, lol. I saw she was a die hard about her Mother after all those years of Romulan upbringing. I agreed with that 100%. The story moved fast from beginning to end I thought but then who wants an hour mission that going to be played no less then 3 times per character. In the end I thought it was fitting that she wanted to know more about her Mother, question was who was her real mother. the ending did leave me somewhat confused until I saw the closing scene. I couldn't figure out who that person was.
Bug report, when engaging T'Nae and the Tholians my 2 away team members would not engage, they would even stop following me at a few locations. T'Nae about killed me twice, even Daniels and Sela held their fire?
over all, Im looking forward to play thru it a few more times. Im sure there was little things I missed on the first play thru.
Edit: Played it again, looked around more, there were areas of the ground map I couldnt get to, I understand but lots of room to play in. Watched the closing scene better, taking note of the hand at the end looked like Data but when looking at the back and some of the side of his head he looked more human? The color of the uniform was correct for data, an engineer, also the holo of Tasha was just like the one data had, I forget the TNG episodes I've thought I've seen it in.
I'm a little disappointed. which is weird cause I had no expectations going in. not that it's bad, I'm just left with a profound sense of "what now?" and "why was I even here?". though I'm wondering why a romulan citizen was turned over to the federation without so much as telling d'tan, forgot we're not all part of the federation yet didn't you?
also why is the set polaron? guess I'll get it on my rom, it may be amusing if nothing else telll I get around to getting the dyson stuff for him.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

I think the transition from hard-TRIBBLE Sela that doesn't care for her mother to some sentimentality about her death was not very smooth and thus felt forced. I am not sure how much that is due to the dialog, and how much that is to Denise's voice acting.
I have no idea how Tasha could really say she had a "full life" on that anomaly ridden planet. Though that might be because we only see the "low points" - when people died, basically. We missed most of the decades she was there.
For a moment I thought you might use the time travel shengians to "youngify" the alternate timeline Tasha Yar, so we can finally close the chapter on Sela and put her into prison for good, but keep Denise Crosby around.

What I liked was that you could actually enter those dangerous bubblse and "tank" the anomaly damage for a while, allowing a more brute force approach to success.

That's Data giving her the holo, right? Because he's the last I remember even having one. But that's not actually the Tasha Yar that was Sela's mother.

idk bout data maybe ambassador picard? that uniform looked more like an official uniform then civilian wear because data is suppose to be a professor at oxnford not in starfleet anymore.

Data was restored in B4, in some way, in the STO timeline. Path to 2409 contains that, I believe, and I think the conceptual idea is also from the novelverse.
that uniform looked more like an official uniform then civilian wear because data is suppose to be a professor at oxnford not in starfleet anymore.
Not sure if Data is already retired, but even if he is, he might still be allowed to wear the uniform for official events.

Why were these anomalies there? if I recall, the Temporal Ambassador stuff was set in a parallel universe where the Ent-C jumps 'forward' in time? The two T'Naes were from different universes?
Mechanics wise, evil mission for the first time.
great maps with an alrightish story
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

You got to change the rewards...they seem a bit BORING already. Why cycle the same stuff over and over again?
IMO it does not bring any incentive added to run these FEs and I tend to skip them. Perhaps do something similar to an event rep system and have a number of X to give an "ultimate upgrade" or perhaps a ship of their choosing from the C Store? Even a bunch of Dilithium (50-100K) might work.
I LOVED IT! Of course, I love everything with Daniels in it (I'm probably in the minority in that regard). The Pastak coming to the rescue was awesome - because let's be honest, if we had to fly all the way back to Starbase 39 to go reintegrate the two T'nae's, we would have been caught in an anomaly for sure.
Story-wise, I really liked how the writers decided to deal with Sela, as well as the fallout from "Temporal Ambassador" (because lets be honest, there had to be SOME kind of fallout). I think, in Sela's mind, she was able to convince herself that her mother didn't actually care about her or love her at all, and that helped Sela distance herself from her mother in order to be taken seriously by the other Romulans. Seeing those beliefs proven wrong and watching Sela's opinion change throughout the course of the episode was really cool.
In terms of Sela, I feel like this episode was a nice continuation of what happened during "Midnight". I mean, she discovers that she is responsible for the destruction of Romulus and the Iconian War - that was a major turning point for her, I feel like, in that she realizes, even if just a little bit, that the way she was doing things before (her tactics and utter disregard for anyone or anything that doesn't help her achieve her goals) might not be the best way to do things. I'm not saying it was an epiphany, more like a seed of doubt.
For better or worse, the events of "Midnight" changed her, and though it might not be obvious at first glance, I feel like you can see that in Sela in "Survivor" - even more so because her world is being shaken up again by what is revealed to her in the episode.
I also thought highly of Admiral T'nae's involvement in the episode - there are many episodes that feature only the more major characters (not that T'nae is a minor one, but by major I'm talking, say, Admiral Quinn and the like). It was refreshing to see another side of her, even if it was only a "what if" scenario (because it wasn't the actual Prime Admiral T'nae).
I also liked the tie-in to the dev blog piece "Ripples" - I think they should tie-in the dev blogs to the in-game missions more often; it adds a whole other layer of depth to the story you wouldn't have otherwise.
Enjoyable storyline. The rewards... iffy. I'm not a big fan of make the player repeat said mission over and over to collect a set. That gets real old, especially if the player has alts.
Sela called my Jupiter class carrier a "quaint little ship". And she said it as if she meant it, not with irony. That's weird. Wonder what all those captains of Universe class ships will say to that.
Was funny for me, as I was flying my NX Refit when I ran it.
I am pretty sure that Data is said to have retired following the destruction of the ENT-D by the Undine in 2408.
Pretty sure you mean Ent-E. But after they changed things around I don't know if that part is still true.
And I do believe that was Data at the end. Pale skin, Data haircut, yellow departmental colors... I was actually thinking we might see Riker after a friend told me about the last cutscene. He should be an Admiral by 2410. Maybe Geordi as a possible too. Both were aboard Enterprise-D with Tasha. But seeing it for myself... Gotta be Data. Especially without any grey hair.

Overall, I liked it. Biggest problem I have is: why now? We're in the middle of fighting off the Tzenkethi and solving the mystery behind the crystals, and suddenly Daniels comes back asking us to help him fix temporal anomalies?
As for the mission itself, while I did like hearing Sela say "quaint little ship" I think it should be removed since many people have ships that are larger than the D'Deredix Sela was on. I also found it odd that Sela knew why we were their. I mean, if we said something sure, but there was no dialogue (or blog post) that would indicate Sela had any idea why we'd come after her. I also think she gave up too easily. When Daniels said it felt like a trap, I was expecting something more than just one Battleship. I'm fine with the idea that she tried to fight, but I think she should have tried to run at some point too....unless she WANTED to get caught.
I feel like this episode is going to tie in to the current arc, but I still feel like it was a bit awkward. I'm sure there could have been another way to bring Sela into this arc other than having Daniels randomly come and tell us to solve more temporal anomalies. Also, why didn't Captain Walker beam BOTH us and T'nae out of the Enterprise-C?

Also, why didn't Captain Walker beam BOTH us and T'nae out of the Enterprise-C?
I think that was an oversight on Walker's part. He probably didn't expect Alt T'nae to survive, as history recorded all hands were lost aboard Ent-C, other than Tasha who was captured, and thus we have Sela.

I must have done something wrong because there was no last cutscene for me. People in chat were talking about Data, which confused me since I never saw anything like that in my mission. Maybe I accidentally skipped it somehow? Where in the mission did it appear? Before or after we beam back up to space?
EDIT: I figured it out. When the mission was over, a dialogue box asked if I wanted to warp out to space. I said "Not Yet" and then was able to turn the mission in. I did so, and then when I warped out nothing happened, which was where the cutscene was supposed to be. Maybe a bug that needs fixing, but I wish I would have been able to see it during my run of the mission, rather than have it spoiled.
1. Space Map;
The first space map in the asteroid field was brill. I immediately thought it would make a superb PvP map.
Had to have a good look around before switching scenes.
2. Ground Map;
Who doesn't want to explore old ruins, covered in green overgrowth right ? Very Star Treky right off the bat. Colors worked well.
The puzzle was a bit pointless, yet I'm grateful it didn't turn out to be another "Dust to Dust" style Maze. I was worried at first we'd have to move the bubbles back and forth a bunch of times. Blahh no thanks.
But it wasn't and looked cool, had that slowing effect if you walked through.
The little aside where you see a wall melted within one of the bubbles was neat, I think Daniels points it out.
3. VO/Acting/Story;
Some of Crosby's best work for sure.
The story was interesting enough, dealing with the C crew and all that it kept me engaged through out.
Loved the cut scene at the end. It was good in two ways, one, it gives us players something to speculate about (Data?) for a little while leading up to TNG 30th.. And two, it ends the mission on a more positive note.
Because I'll be honest. FeelsRealBad that Castillo is dead... was not prepared.
A new thing I'm starting up on these here forums - we're going to have "official" threads to gather any thoughts you guys had on major content releases. First up: Survivor. What did you think?
Spoilers abound...
The polaron weapon reward for a mission involving Romulans, Ent-C crew and Sela feels like heresy to me.
Mission itself was interesting enough.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I enjoyed it , it was a good combo of space and ground. I wish there was more data pads to find with stardate. It would have been nice of Tasha had survived or at least little bit. So was it explained why T'nae was acting the say she was?
As for the "mystery man"'s uniform at the end cutscene; notice how it's a dress uniform in standard colors. That must make them special somehow. Not an admiral or a typical officer, but an exception. That, or Cryptic finally decided to actually have some of the Starfleet NPCs wear unique uniforms, which I doubt.
Winning.
It's what I do. It's what I just did. It's what I'm about to do again. It's being undisputed emperor of an empire that cannot be disproved as the most powerful intergalactic empire in the entire universe; I always win, and everything I've won will definitely be won again... by me. It's my signature move, and thus, it's my signature. Problem, Sonic? Yeah, I mean you, Sonic, because you're being beat up, despite your being super. You can't even hit Shadow back, can you? Nope, he's too strong for you. Of course, I'm not Shadow, I'm the Super Emerald fueled fox that's pulling the strings; trust me, the fight would only be a few frames long if I were in it personally. Oh, and here's something for all you guys thinking you can win Last Post Wins 3.0; trust me, I'll be around a long while after the sun has already consumed the Earth while I sit out with the forum servers on Titan. Yes, I mean Titan... that comparatively little moon orbiting Saturn. It's a nice little place in a version of our solar system where the sun is a lot bigger. I mean, Mars will last longer than your precious Earth, but by then, it'll be one hot planet... and I figure Saturn's moon will be about the right temperate for a super-powered warlord. Oh, and trust me, I packed a lot of rings, and I mean a lot. Trillions, in fact, so I'll never run out of rings to power my super form. Besides, if I start to run out, I can just chaos control more rings into my reach. It's quite easy, really. You should try it. Granted, you'll never have the 7 Super Emeralds that I have in my possession, nor the Master Emerald that I've got hidden away somewhere... absorbed into my body thanks to Sonic logic, but whatever. I win. Again. I'm not kidding, either. Just check Last Post Wins, and if the last post isn't mine, it soon will be. Very, very soon. You can count on it. Seriously. By the way, if you're wondering, there's a really great Super Tails sprite sheet out there... somewhere... by some guy named shadow_91. These sprites are really great. Like, really good. Quality. Just like what I like to see in a sprite sheet. Also, credit to Joe T.E., his Sonic Battle style Super Sonic sprites have a great palette for a Super Sonic being beat up by Super Shadow, who's palette is from a Super Shadow sheet of unknown origin, but it turns out they were "borrowed" from a better sheet made by a certain Domenico. Oh, and the gif is actually a custom made super version of a similar gif, of which there are only 3 or 4 copies to be found by Google, and even then, evidently of an unknown source. Yep, it's one of those things. Stuff people have made, spread around, only for it to vanish and you to be the only person who still has a copy, not even knowing where it came from... like, literally at all. Oh, and anyone notice that Shadow's little chaos snap blast thingies are red and blue now? Yeah, I changed it. Problem, fans of purple? Yeah, I know you got a problem with that one, but you can just deal with it. After all, according to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly... alright, alright, I'll spare you the entire Bee Movie script, just Google it if you want. By the way, ever wonder how your characters would've ended up if they evolved in another universe? Yeah, that. Think about it. Ok, so you probably didn't bother reading up to here, but whatever, here's a surprise for you guys over at ESD (RP) who were crazy enough to read this: Emperor Nat of the mcfreakin' Terran Empire is gonna be right all along! The universe is gonna go BOOM! *Thumbs up to the insanity*
Oh, now don't tell me you want in on all this! Well, ok. Look this that Egg Pawn hanging outside your window, pointing his laser rifle at you, waiting for my next order. He's doing his part. He helps conquer the weak-minded. He roboticizes the weak-bodied. Heck, he even helps keep the useless people from causing any trouble, but you know what? Join. Find the closest Nataran Empire roboticization center near you and join the ranks, before the ranks find you. Oh, I know, you figure it must be so satisfying to know I basically rule the world now, and you know what? It is, but do you want to know the true definition of satisfaction? Well, let me tell you a little story. One day, you see a brand new event. They're giving out boxes that give old event stuff. Your dilithium is plentiful. You buy a whole lot of Phoenix packs on your main, and open them all. You get one epic token. Then, you decide, that since you have all the Breen ships and don't give a damn about the others, you exchange it for an ultra rare, and grab yourself a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship and for the hell of it, a Voth Bulwark. You open both, leaving the Bulwark in your vast masses of starships as you jump into the bugship and deck it out, deck by deck, into the most awesome Jem'Hadar ship you can. You fly it. You enjoy it. Eventually, you get bored and leave, leaving the old Bulwark never flown... until later. Your main is long complete. Your new alt main, based off some character you pulled out of nothing just to explain away some starship being in service without the command of your dear admiral, is also complete. Mostly. Their reps and doffs are hard at work, getting you stuff. You realize the potential, and head back for your dear admiral, pull the most Voth themed build you can out of thin air, and suit up in your giant ship in the shape of you know what. You head out... and cause all sorts of havoc. Enemies scream out your name as their very life is drained away by your swarms of Aceton Assimilators. They complain to the devs of your OPness when you revive yourself from death every time you die. Do you show any form of mercy? No. After all, this isn't the United Federation of Planets, this is mother frakkin' Starfleet, where you explore strange new worlds and kick butt never kicked before. Oh, and you realize that I just wrote another speech rivaling your own signature. Cool. Oh, wait, that's just the original draft, it is part of my signature now. Oh, and yes, I am aware that I have become a Canadian Regent; one day, sooner than you'd expect, we'll suddenly decide to take over the world and declare an "alliance", and I shall become it's Regent. You know, like the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in the mirror universe of our beloved Star Trek. Oh, who'll we be taking over with? I dunno, maybe [REDACTED], or maybe aliens from outer space. Guess you'll have to wait and find out, won't we? Until then, don't ask too many questions, or else my Breen allies on Titania might pick up on your -- [REDACTED BY BREEN CONFEDERACY FOR REASONS] Also, psst... keep an eye out for flying Tribbles! Also walls. Big, great walls, separating entire continents apart. Walls patrolled by Tribbles. Flying Tribbles. Flying Nukara Tribbles. Don't worry, it's not like they were on Venus with a herd of Tholians or anything, they just like the extreme heat and brutal weather like acid rain and hurricane force winds as the norm. Oh, and definitely keep your eye out on any two-tailed foxes, because if they ain't glowing, they're definitely an imposter. Possibly an Undine, we caught one of those once in my place once. Oh, and if you find a two-tailed fox that doesn't like the cold... most certainly ask him to say sorry. If he refuses, DESTROY HIM WITH A DOOMSDAY MACHINE, BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH AGAINST SUCH AN OVERPOWERED IMPOSTER!
tr;dr, I am winning last post wins 3.0. Thank you for your time.

I thought that too, but Data was destroyed in Nemesis. so maybe......... B4? Idk.
It may have been Picard or B4. I have to say B4 (Data incarnate) because Picard would be a retired wrinkly old man by now. Something tells me we haven't seen the last of Sela and Denise Crosby's wonderful voice acting. As for the mission it was great the ground mission in particular.
Though there were some bugs that were present, like your away team, Sela and Daniels doing nothing but just standing there and not following your at times. I think this mission was meant to be a small break from fighting them Tzenkethi, but we should really start focusing on why they are destroying civilizations that contain those crystals.
"Our history, our past, our present and our future is now forever changed. All we can do is preserve what is left and continue onwards. This is not a surrender nor defeat, we will continue the fight. This is our last hope, our last chance... for victory."
Vlasek D. Lasor - 4.19.3580 Star Trek Online: Foundry Storyline Series
Was the first thought that came to my mind as well, Data (B4). I liked that. The overall story was fine, I do hope though that it might have been the conclusion to the Sela story line.
The maps look wonderful, the jungle looks exceptionally nice
I decided to let myself sink into the story being told a bit. And once I did, I genuinely thought it was a touching story. The maps, space and ground, were just beautifully made. Some of the light ray tricks were nice touches, too.
I always really enjoy FEs that go deeper than just "go over and blow that up". As for timing, it's a temporal emergency that threatened to trash the timeline, so I'll give it a pass for being in the middle of the Tzenkethi war.
As for the final cutscene, which was a nice touch purely for the focus on the Tasha holo, I kinda think you folks are over-thinking it. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be T'nae meeting with Sela. And Sela asked her to share her newly acquired memories of decades surviving with her mother on the prison.
Sela called my Jupiter class carrier a "quaint little ship". And she said it as if she meant it, not with irony. That's weird. Wonder what all those captains of Universe class ships will say to that.
Yeah, made me laugh too. In a Vengeance class ship.
I did enjoy a mission that wasn't just "KILL EM ALL!!!" like most missions. Glad we finally killed learned 'true' fate of Tasha (barring some future temporal shenanigans, of course) And the 'mystery officer' (Data) at the end was a nice touch. Now if they could only get Spiner for a couple VO sessions, or on the phone even saying some lines.
Not sure it's the character being played or what, but to me, Denise Crosby still sounds like she's uninspired by this job and is kinda 'phoning it in' for lack of a better description.

Was funny for me, as I was flying my NX Refit when I ran it.

Anyone want to give me a Temporal Heavy Dreadnought pack? I'll be your friend
I think that was an oversight on Walker's part. He probably didn't expect Alt T'nae to survive, as history recorded all hands were lost aboard Ent-C, other than Tasha who was captured, and thus we have Sela.

#LegalizeAwoo
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
The first space map in the asteroid field was brill. I immediately thought it would make a superb PvP map.
Had to have a good look around before switching scenes.
2. Ground Map;
3. VO/Acting/Story;
The polaron weapon reward for a mission involving Romulans, Ent-C crew and Sela feels like heresy to me.
Mission itself was interesting enough.
Winning.

The maps look wonderful, the jungle looks exceptionally nice
I always really enjoy FEs that go deeper than just "go over and blow that up". As for timing, it's a temporal emergency that threatened to trash the timeline, so I'll give it a pass for being in the middle of the Tzenkethi war.
As for the final cutscene, which was a nice touch purely for the focus on the Tasha holo, I kinda think you folks are over-thinking it. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be T'nae meeting with Sela. And Sela asked her to share her newly acquired memories of decades surviving with her mother on the prison.
Check out the hand as he puts the Holo statue on the table, it has the same skin shine Data had.
Makes me very curious as to what Sela's special request was...
