The devs should make the canon-accurate J the default model for the ship, but have more finished designs available as alternate skins. That way it's win-win.
Ever wondered what it would be like to see the J Enterprise in The Breach? Well, I did it! And I managed to be the first one to escape too. I overtook that... whatever that ship was. Make way or be squashed! Stopping this behemoth for a locomotive may take a parsec or two. lol
People are being greedy when they are asking 1.5 billion+ for a butt ugly ship. You can sell the Enterprise-J for 900 million and still make a profit.
False. At a going rate of ~16M per pack, with the typical number of packs required being in the hundreds, people, in fact, will generally lose money even at 1.5B.
I was talking about energy credits not real money though. Lockboxes were never designed so people can make a quick buck off them.
What on earth makes you say that?
Maybe because STO is a video game and video games were designed so people can spend money on them. If you are playing STO to make a profit off other players you are doing it wrong.
It is now hardly to belive that in XXVI century Enterprise J will be Universe Class since they are introduce 100 years earlier. This may conclude new alternate timeline in which Enterprise G will be Universe class, as well as H, I, J int the end. I Hope that we will get "Kongo" subclass soon.

Just a few from the future to do stuff in the past.
So, we naturally don't know what happens with Shon's Ent-F, but we're in 2410 now. Ent-J is 26th cent / 2500's. As you said, that is some serious attrition going on. It's only 90 years from the game's 2410 to the 26th century, and Starfleet loses one way or another 4 ships named Enterprise.
A ship's service life has been increasing over time in history, today for example it's 50 years for one of the big carriers. So this is a terrible record, these ships are little more than FTM fads.
They weren't intended to be that way originally. I don't know where you got your dates, but the 40 year span for the original Enterprise indicates that and I recall reading where the total lifespan for a Connie class ship was expected (with refits of course) to last 100 years. After the TOS ended, this went out the window as every new Star Trek just had to have their own ship.
I got a box yesterday and experimented with the ships on Tribble. Decided I liked the Klingon best and decided to give it my main Klingon, who I think doesn't have any lockbox/promo ships so far, so it was about time for him.
I got around 16° turn rate out of the ship, with 2 Ultra-Rare RCS Accelators (Conductive and Enhanced), Klingon Honor Guard Set, and Pilot as main spec. Can be a bit slide-heavy, but the Breach is relatively easy to maneuver through since you mostly don't need to do 180° turns. I actually managed to stay ahead of the group most of the time... (This thing ain't stopping anyway.)
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

A real money profit sure, but a space profit? That's a major part of the game.
No, making a space profit is part of the Ferengi culture.
Don't bother trying to argue with Druk. Like a good Ferengi, he is a proper troll - will always lecture on the need for wise investment and how he deserves his place in STO's equivalent of the 1%, while never actually saying anything usable.
He does however have a point that if you don't want the effort of acquiring an uber-rare ship (either because of your efforts ingame or IRL) there are plenty of more economic alternatives.
Am I the only one who really isn't bothered about owning one of these ships?
So many of them around - superhuge ships are clearly extremely popular in STO, but I still prefer ships of the smaller and more nimble variety myself.
I'm with you.
I am quite happy, the last few 'must have' ships are both ships I hate (T6 Connie and the ridiculous Universe.)
Love the promo though, I traded Dilithium for Zen during the Phoenix Box promotion and used the Zen to buy promo boxes. I'll sit on them for a bit and then sell them because I couldn't possibly care any less about the ship.
The only thing good about these ships to me is the ability to make some EC. I wouldn't fly one if I got it for free.

The Durgath isn't as bad as the Universe or the Valkis (thought the Valkis is a very pretty ship).
Variety is the spice of life. I enjoy my D4x and my Durgath (on different characters).
Agreed - and to clarify, I don't take issue with the design of these ships, my comment was simply that I have little/no interest in owning one myself due to their size, but again - that's more a byproduct of my personal preference toward small ships.
You're definitely not alone. Aesthetically, I find the J hideous. As far as mechanics, there's nothing really noteworthy about these ships either, apart from being dreadnoughts with two hangars. The pets are decent, nothing special. Bridge officer seats and console layout, again, nothing special. I was initially scratching my head as to why they made they such unremarkable ships so rare, but I guess it's just that practical reason: to make them rare as something that big and ridiculous being very common would be, well, ridiculous. Definitely the weakest of the promo pack ships. The Bug, the Annorax, and the T6 TOS ships were semi OP/semi-meta changing, while these dreadnoughts, not so much.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am."
Well, after today's announcement all carriers are looking to move up the charts and that includes the Heavy Dreads. Plus their Frigate will all be seeing additional buffs since scratch the paint is being obsoleted by universal perma-Scratch the Paint for all hanger pets.
I'm steadily warming to the Klingon one. It has the prettiest frigates and the notion "I've just warped in... now we lay siege to this entire system!" complete with grand gestures while standing before my 'warrior's throne' of a command chair just works for me.

That does improve them, but no more than it improves any other carrier. Now, I could understand the new dreads being in-demand if they had exclusive frigates as powerful as Tholian Mesh Weavers or Romulan Drones, but they don't. They're relatively Joe Average ships with Joe Average abilities and layouts in terms of the state of the game/powercreep, apart from an extra hangar bay, which just isn't a very significant distinctive differentiator. Any good carrier is still better than they are, IMO.

Speaking of which, I hope the next incoming wave of T6 revamps after the Romulan Adapted stuff is the Tholian Recluse and Orb Weaver. I will puke rainbows, and spend many quatloos for the privilege.

I'm more interested in the Xindi-Aquatic Narcine, but after getting the T6 T'SAs relatively early, I really can wait patiently at the back of the line while other folks see their favorites get the love.
With promo packs at 23m today, the price of producing new dreadnoughts has risen from 1.7b to 2.3b.
Well to be completely fair 2.3b minus the value of 990 lobi and 100 R&D packs. That reduces production costs to well below 2b. But given that the zeni key-to-promo box ratio is so out of whack compared to the Ec key-to-promo box ratio, it's still a pretty good play to buy boxes from Cryptic rather than other players. While you can at least.
With the sale over, I'm pretty much committed to ignoring the Heavy Deads until they're added to the Infinity Promo and I'm willing to gamble another $16-$24 to see what happens.
I finally had one of these, the Romulan one, in a Breach run. They are smaller than I thought, it wasn't much bigger than my 31st Century Dreadnaught and much, much thinner. Also only had 40k or so hit points to my 70k and actually died once in the chamber.

yeah, just have seen 1 in breach. OMG they are yuge! I need one lol...

The Breach is so much fun with this ship!

Neat looking, though.
