The Romulan is nice; love the idea that it is basically a giant flying Romulan coat of arms
Any yeah, the Fed one... well, its the canon design.
But overall: I cannot take a ship serious to which my TOS Dread looks probably like a type F shuttle in comparison but stand toe to toe in every aspect but interior design (of which the TOS dread has the advantage for the simple fact of general interior access).
All three of them are ridiculous in every gameplay aspect STO is confined in.
Look at the Lukari and Kobali, new to making warships yet can make them as good as the Federation and klingons who have specialised in warships for centuries.
I always love to see ignorant comments like these because it truly goes to show how little people actually pay attention to what is said in-game, and in the story blogs, both of which mention that the Feds/KDF/RR gave tech to these races, and basically showed them how to make advanced warships.
I admit I give a flying f about story sources outside the game (itches me a bit too that the are only outside) but that part is IMO pretty self-explanatory from just following the game and the story snippets they dare to drop ingame.
I'll be curious to read the stats for this trio. Beyond their scale and origins within the timeline, what will be unique about them? Will they come with a console/power unique to them? Will STO write up an original weapon of the future not yet heard of?

Don't ever say some Ship is great publicly on the Forums. The Ferengi will just jack up the price on the Exchange.

Well cryptic just talked about balancing the game a few weeks back by making some skill changes and such, but just introduced a ship with 4/4 weapon hard points and 2 hangar bays (a first if I'm not mistaken).

Carriers are usually science, so yeah, i think this is the first, but i do like it..
And we thought the Annorax was kinda OP. Oooh boy...
"But, Cryptic, you said you were working on balancing the game!"
"The ground part, yes... We never said anything about space! >:D "
Thanks for sharing...was expecting a bit more hull than just 62,000 from a mobile starbase? Looks like it might have been a bit rushed and not planned well for its stats.
The KDF version looks horrible like a "wooden stick" flying ship. The FED and Rom not bad at all and great looking including their pets.
Let's see how it does in the market and it breaks it or not.

At least it is a hangar ship and it even comes with two frigates and 8 weapon slots, albeit a turn rate of 5! But I still love carriers! Oh and I forgot Weapon Efficiency!

To be fair, I own the TOS Dreadnought, and its quite a bit smaller than the KT Dreadnought. Not that I care - the TOS Dreadnought is awesome!
Its about as big as a Defiant class
Yeah, it IS awesome; THE hero ship for my TOS char.
Rare? Yes. But is this something that is actually going to be in demand? I wonder.
- The prevailing opinion of most is that these ships are ugly. Only one is a hero ship (albeit in one episode? Two?), and not one any sizable group ever cared about.
- They turn like bricks, a quality universally disliked.
- Essentially big, ugly, T6 carriers with some extra weapons, and a lance you'll almost never be able to aim except in PVE, where it isn't even needed.
They'll be expensive on "Day One", I'm sure, but will anyone ultimately care long-term though? Unlike the other R&D promos, these ships aren't meta-changing like the Annorax, or much demanded, like the TOS ships.
It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. Probably like the Voth Bulwark: a useless status symbol coveted for no reason other than rarity.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am."

So long as I can get the J, without having to deal with the scaplers, I'll be happy.

Since these are not C-Store / Lobi / Event ships, that's what's going to happen.
Anyways, looking at the stats, these are heavily armed (8 weapons), 2-hangar carriers. That's a first for this game, we have 7 weapon Carriers but none with 8. Most are only 6.
The handling characteristics are horrible, I was expecting something like the Flagships which I don't hold a high opinion of in that category of abilities, but these things are worse than that Narrow arc weapon builds will be annoying to nightmarish. Beamboating / Turret Boating, or other high weapon arc builds will be easier to fly with.
Boff and Console layout I got no problem with. Temporal Hybrid Station is good to go.

dunno how accurate this is, but seems at least probable...
assuming its not all one huge april fools troll.... notice the release date
and people thought simitard spawnball problems were bad... this makes a t'laru look dainty

Full sized...joy...can't wait to see them clogging up space above Earth and Qo'nos

Then it looked like this
Before we ended up with the design we know today

Yeah ONLY 62,000 hull what a joke.
If I had to guess I'd say 1.5 billion ec for the first few days and then down to 1.2 - 1.3 once the supply increases.
A fleet mate and I took our Vonph's into the Breach yesterday for poops and giggles. It wasn't too bad.
I wonder if all three ships are equally large.
