This makes me wonder though. the Tzenkethi aren't THAT large, how will they go to war with the Alliance?
what about a modification of the Genesis concept to fuse it with an industrial replicator? IE build device, point device at well, pretty much anything with mass, then watch as the energy field turns it into a massive war machine!
oh, and dont take your space whale into this episode... just.. don't you will get really frustrated. take that nimble sci ship battlecruiser or escort. Kilnks can ignore this advice unless you drive a bortas
I took an Andromeda in and did alright. Granted I do have full Pilot spec tree and at least one RCS on her.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

It was a decent episode. Loved it how they managed to fit in all three of those d*mn mini-games into it (not). One good thing about them, it forewarned me that I still have some tweaking to do to the graphics settings before I run a VIP Dilithium Claim.
Boff pathing was bad out of that main console room. Had to leave one behind.

take a lesson, cryptic - THIS is how you do a GOOD exploration mission
minimal combat, and getting to FINALLY shoot one of the most IRRITATING characters in the game when it does show up
introduction to new(ish) and old lifeforms without it being tedious
an air of mystery through most of the episode
a puzzle that isn't a royal and tedious PITA like some of the temporal operative ones were (though, i'd hesitate to call it a puzzle, because despite the dialogue, i doubt order really makes a difference in the end)
not too short and not too lengthy *cough*of bajor*cough*coliseum*cough*
and most importantly...NO ANNOYING FETCH QUESTS! *cough*of bajor - again*cough*
we definitely need more of this - bloody good job, dev team!

I was struck by how strangely Star Trek the mission felt. The only thing missing was some character development sub-plot and banter among the BOFF
I think one of the interesting surprises in this story for me was that the Lukari did not start out on the world we find them. Apparently they migrated from another world! Interesting tidbit that makes me wonder if it will be relevant later.
The Lukari's first experience of deep space exploration must have gone well for them....
"Look at these amazing creatures living in the depths of space! They're incredible!"
"Yes, they're called Gekli, we know about them."
"More amazing creatures! Like giant glowing space jellyfish!"
"Farpoint cnidarians. Here's complete data on their biology and life cycle for you."
"... An unknown planet! Scoured clear of life by a mysterious catastrophe! We shall be the first aliens to set foot on it!"
"Yeah, OK."
"... Oh. Not quite the first. Look, there's your logo on the wall."
"Oh, yeah."
"And pictures of your people."
"Funny old world, isn't it?"
"... There's an abandoned space station in orbit. Is it -?"
"One of ours? Yeah. We were wondering where we'd left it."
".... So perhaps that's enough exploration for the moment. Maybe I'll go relax for a while. I could lie down by the pool... that is, if there aren't STARFLEET TOWELS ALREADY DRAPED OVER THE SUN LOUNGERS."
Well, Kumaarke knows they are "exploring" space that is only new to them, she even makes a point of mentioning that. It's still cool for them because of the knowledge they can get (and their own study of Gekli migration patterns and feeding habits is probably also of scientific value to us).
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
what REALLY interests me is when the player mentions how unstable protomatter is and kuumaarke immediately says ' not if you *blablabla treknobabble explanation here* first'...apparently the lukari have been able to figure out something the federation hasn't been able to for hundreds of years
TBH, that seemed more like our Starship Captains aren't as knowledgeable about science in general as an actual scientist. Not that the Lukari knew this thing the Federation in general had no knowledge of.
The fact that we bring up a failed terraforming project as a possibile origin of the protomatter explosion would suggest knew that protomatter COULD be used safely, given the right circumstances, just that we PERSONALLY, didn't know what those circumstances were.
It is possible that the Lukari are more experienced with working with protomatter than the Federation. Just because they need help with developing ships for Interstellar Exploration doesn't mean they aren't more advanced than the Federation in other ways. For all we know, their home planet could have been devastated by protomatter technology.
a puzzle that isn't a royal and tedious PITA like some of the temporal operative ones were (though, i'd hesitate to call it a puzzle, because despite the dialogue, i doubt order really makes a difference in the end)
If you try to solve the puzzle out of order, it resets.
Was it intentional that this episode gives no specialization experience or expertise at level 60?
I ran it with a level 26 orion kdf toon and got no experiance from it , so its not just level specific its pretty much not giving exp all across the board.
I quite like her uniform, and hope we either can get her as a boff later on (maybe a member of her people and not actually her), but also getting the ability to use her uniform would be nice too.
Overall I thought the episode was a nice change of pace, despite the handholding and lackluster mini game exploration, but... let's be honest, they can only do so much for "Exploration" without adding a bunch of new mechanics and mini games.
I really enjoy when they include little tidbits from the Trek series' like the Gekli and Farpoint space jellies.
It's a nice trip down memory lane, and reinforces that we are playing a Star Trek game.
Love being reminded of that from time to time during a mission !
As far as the hieroglyphic puzzle; was simple, but at least it was different and was sort of an interesting change to the standard puzzles, we get, had more "Lore Factor" to it, then just re-modulating a wave signal etc.
Loved all the voice acting, really top notch job done there. All of the Actors did a fine, fine job. I especially loved the Reynolds character and her voice acting, really enjoyed her logs that we stumble upon on K-13. Really made those "Starfleet" Hieroglyphics hit home for me.
I also liked the way they brought back K-13, and it being shrouded in mystery as to how and why it ended up there. And I must say I'm pretty intrigued to find out why.
Overall I'd say that mission felt very Star Trek'y to me. Felt like watching an episode.
I really enjoyed the nods to TNG. (We need more of this kind of thing Devs !!!) It's a simple and effective way that you can bring some Trek nostalgia into the game.
Really strong "fan" episode imo.
And that Naussican set ! I'm really eager to try it out on my disruptor build
My only complaint regarding the reward Naussican Disruptor beam... It was not an Omni !!!
Devs, Please for the love of God, get us Disruptor users a 2nd Omni !
Actually, please get all the energy types a 2nd Omni - Please please please !
We're beggin ya.
The Starfleet Hierogplyhs were certainly great. Especially the TOS one. Though ti kinda mislead me - I was wondering if this could actually be a world visited by Spock, Kirk and McCoy, and was thinking about which episodes it could have been.

oh that would be good. invite to the poker game or some good natured ribbing.
- Ran the mission last night for the first time.
- I like the story so far.
- I like the tie in to the 23rd century.
- I like the murals. And the mural puzzle.
- I enjoyed the backstory.
- I enjoyed being on K-13
- I'm intriuged by the new set/items/gear in this FE
- I want to learn more of where this is headed, so you "hooked" me
- I liked meeting the Gelki again. I missed those guys.
- I enjoyed the sense of wonder that the Lukari have for this mission.
So while running this mission umpteen times may eventually get tedious, that happens to all missions. Just taking this on its merits, I thought it was a great setup for wherever this story is going and look forward to the next part.
I will play this mission at least once on all my toons.
There were some minor problems on the station (my BOFFs got stuck in doorways with open doors, but the mission continued without problem...
Then, when i checked the rewards on "Replay" i got serious bug:
Once i declined a replay, i can NOT choose "Replay" for this mission anymore - the buton for it stays grey!
I reported the bug in-game, and put thread on Bug-forum - i hope it gets fixed soon!

At least you get a beam. There's nothing for disruptor cannon builds. It seems like they've always been really good in the past about offering a cannon option and a beam option, but the ball was dropped here. Which is really a bummer considering how good the set options seem to be for disruptors.
> @saber1973a said: > I think you can get Heavy Double Cannon from "Blood of the Ancients" that is part of Disruptor Set (you can get both Beam and Cannons - i think)
That's a good example of what I mean: there's an option there for a Beam Array and a Heavy Cannon with regards to that Reasonant Tech set. But for this Nausicaan set there's not an option for a cannon, only a beam option. And from a disruptor perspective this set has the best bonuses offered of any set I can remember. More options are better.
It's really way better - it even has an energy disruptor torpedo
Until now the only other energy torpedo (i think) was the Crystaline Antiproton from that one Crystaline Event
Yeah, I'm loving the torpedo, I'll be putting that on my ship right away. But I don't want to swap into beams, so I'll probably wind up missing out on that last set bonus (and that's a bad bonus to miss for a disruptor ship).

if you have the trait from Kolasi/Yamato/Kara you have a reason to mount a beam array on a cannon ship.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
I use the one beam boost power I have for the Javelin. Otherwise I like my cannons (probably not optimal, but I like them).
I'm not raising too much hue and cry here. Nor am I asking for something they haven't provided in the past. I just think it would be great if they could provide a cannon option like they have previously.
I just finished the mission, which I thought was good, and got no credit for it. It just wants me to run it again. Weird.
Not a bad episode, but I can see it getting boring after multiple runs. I feel like part of the problem with exploration missions in this game is that they just sprinkle in different mini games into it for scanning or interacting with objects, and then drop a ton of text on you. Good effort, but I feel like we need something more if exploration missions are going to be used more often.
Also if we get to shoot at other annoying characters in the future, let me finally end Slamek. I get we are supposed to feel bad for him, but I find him insufferable.

This mission was a pleasant change - helping guide someone's baby steps on exploration (You just want to pat their heads when they brag about warp 4), and seeing some cool cosmozoans. I was waiting for the violence shoe to drop through much of the mission because of the Nausicaan themed awards.
The big reveal after the puzzle was nice, and the actual violence was nice. Did Madran escape again? Him and Sela need to team up!
Fate - protects fools, small children, and ships named Enterprise Will Riker
