take a lesson, cryptic - THIS is how you do a GOOD exploration mission
minimal combat, and getting to FINALLY shoot one of the most IRRITATING characters in the game when it does show up
introduction to new(ish) and old lifeforms without it being tedious
an air of mystery through most of the episode
a puzzle that isn't a royal and tedious PITA like some of the temporal operative ones were (though, i'd hesitate to call it a puzzle, because despite the dialogue, i doubt order really makes a difference in the end)
not too short and not too lengthy *cough*of bajor*cough*coliseum*cough*
and most importantly...NO ANNOYING FETCH QUESTS! *cough*of bajor - again*cough*
we definitely need more of this - bloody good job, dev team!
Like special weapons from other Star Trek games? Wondering if they can be replicated in STO even a little bit? Check this out:

If you try to solve the puzzle out of order, it resets.
...it doesn't, does it?

Was it intentional that this episode gives no specialization experience or expertise at level 60?
It felt like someone was taking my hand and leading me through the entire mission. I would prefer a mission that was a little bit more open. We should be able to discover and interpret clues ourselves. Don't let NPCs have all the fun!
As far as the above scrooge comment, then don't repeat it. (your) Problem solved.
Definitely has the most "Star Trek" feel to date. Exploration and a minor skirmish with a local nuisance.
Made me all the more glad when I bored several holes into his power systems, heh.

I think that might be reaching a bit. I mean, that style does predate Stargate by a few years...
No it's not.
Besides, Kurland isn't irritating. He's an..... experience.
...no, it isn't slamek either before someone else asks

The puzzle was nice. The details just fit very well together. I think the puzzles in STO aren't bad (other than the isolinear chip puzzle, I hate that one), but they usually feel more ... artificial (Dust to Dust for example). That we don't just shoot a hole in an archaeological site makes sense, that I can't climb over some dumb computers and instead have to run trough a maze less so.
This seems also to be one of the first time the fleet name is used in mission dialog. Pretty neat.
I don't agree. Most of the exploration in the mission is just hoop-jumping...go to the marked spot, press F, go to the next spot, press some more F...do the mining minigame, but don't worry about doing it well because your score doesn't matter anyway...and so on. It's not plot-relevant, it's not challenging and you don't get anything out of it. If this were a TV episode, things like what the player does in the initial areas would be just background activity the crew does to look busy while the main plot focuses on character drama. I'd skip straight to the planet if I could.
And sure, the puzzle is relatively good, but that's just because the standard for puzzles in this game is so low. It still doesn't require any thought, your Lukari babysitter still spoonfeeds you the solution as usual and there are still no consequences for getting it wrong. The temporal probe puzzles were way better, even if they only required first grade math, basic memory and word recognition.
Anyway, I like the fact we are there to let a younger species do their own discovery, we keep them from getting stomped on, we don't spoon feed them until they find something new, and only then we give them the background.
It's an MMO. Not high literature.
There is a bug on the station where your Boff can go through the door he's hiding behind... and they can kill him and his guard. And that's awesome!

There were some puzzles in Trek. The isolinear puzzle that we have is almost certainly based on the rapid replacement of the chips by Data in "The Naked Now," then there was the genetic code map from "The Chase" and the musical puzzle from "The Paradise Syndrome" (both referenced in puzzles in the Breen arc) and even the color codes for the Iconian gateway in "Contagion."
