That was 7 hours ago LaughingTrendy was in the dark. I'm sure she's had a meeting by now and was told not to say anything or comment at all on it and keep everyone in the dark till this blows are and everyone is peeved about the next thing they mishandle.

Hmm, "I'll ask for clarification re the Nagus codes. I don't handle emails or create stuff like this, so I'll need to check with folks." does not include "and i will let you know", for me it sounds like the pr-speak version of "lol, seriously?", i would be very, VERY suprised should PWI reveal the Criterias for the Promotion this time.

Huh!? To me, Trendy sounded quite sincere there. I'm not sure why you think she wasn't. And please -- not specifically aimed at you -- let's not take this out on Trendy, k? I'm sure she doesn't handle the Promotions department at PWE, so when she appeared to be as surprised as the rest of us, I see no reason to doubt her.

And no, I doubt we'll ever be told the rationale behind this promo. But as a CM, Trendy will likely convey the community feedback to the powers that be. And maybe some good will come of it.

Thinking about when this was on the leak sites (which have now been culled again...) there seemed to be two versions, a "gold" one and a normal one. I wonder if this VR promo is the gold one, and the "regular" variant will follow as a promo pack ship.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be something similar to that. Perhaps the 'regular' version of the ship will be the new Winter event ship?

I sure want one, but no confidence that I'd ever get it. I'd settle for a non-gold-plated T5 version. (Deeldor just might sell his bridge officers to get one...)

Couldn't tell you how much I've spent on the game over the years, but it's a lot. Certainly more than $500, but maybe not over a $1000. {Shrug.} Life's too short and too busy to worry about it.

Just out of curiosity, what's the Starship Mastery trait for it?

    Thanks for the post, iconians!

Lest anyone think I put any stock into how much money I actually spent on STO over the years, allow me to point out that I can't name a figure but I can probably tell you in detail how much free stuff Cryptic has given me over the years through various promotions.

I don't have any reason to complain, and I'm not complaining. Doesn't preclude me from being slightly disappointed because I've wanted a D'Kora Marauder for ages or that I don't have a certain good-natured jealousy toward the people who got the Nagus. ;)

It's cool. Cryptic has been pretty good to me, mostly -- we shall not mention the dark Atari days -- and I'm a satisfied customer or I wouldn't have subbed long enough to be a 1000-day vet and I wouldn't have just bought the Temporal Agent pack. They don't owe me anything.

If there's anything I want Cryptic to do for me it's this: Can you puh-leeze let us use a TOS bridge and interior on all of the TOS ships? The Pioneer bridge will do.

I've also spent many thousands of UK pounds over the last 6 years, but I doubt it's to do with money so much.
Spent at least 2500$ + since 2012. (Actually scared to check my paypal history, because its probably way higher then my estimate)

I have spent way to much (over 8000$) but as I am a dedicated Star trek fan and love the game so..
LTS + spent about 4K since beta
I've spent over $5,000 on this game at a minimum and definitely over $1,000 this year alone and no email.
between 2 accounts one LTS and nearly every federation ship purchased, we both have well over 1000 invested/

This is the best list I have ever seen. Do you know what kinds of things you can buy yourself for a grand? Or five grand?

Yes, but I don't have enough room in my house for the amount of "Real World" Star Trek Stuff that would get me.

I don't expect to get this ship despite being: a LTS since 1 year after game release, a GOLD since open beta. Never have had more than a week brake from the game, as well as having spent WELL over $1500 for ships and then another $1000 just for zen for various purchases. ( not proud of that AT ALL). Despite ALL of that ARC shows me as playing for 11hrs and 4 minutes. Yup, I don't use ARC so Cryptic doesn't even know I exist. *shrugs* Ow well.

They didn't release any criteria last time, it's unlikely they will do so now.

If Trendy could get some information and share it with us it would be nice, but don't be surprised if we don't get any additional info.

Well... the best way is probably to search for 'STO' in your mail box. They sent out an e-mail with some info on the new Kelvin uniform a couple of days ago so if you have that one and you didn't unsubscribe then, then you're still subscribed :o

I haven't received e-mails from PWE in years also. As a Lifer since the head start phase, I am a bit curious to know what the criteria is to get the ship and the swag.
  • judasjungjudasjung Member Posts: 22 Arc User
LTS from before original release, god knows how much spent on Zen and ships, and no email here either.
  • markhawkmanmarkhawkman Member Posts: 35,236 Arc User
Yeah, I've not gotten ANY emails from them for years and I have no idea why.

I'm really not that interested in the ship itself (although the Andromeda and Defiant could have been nice additions for some of my characters).

Having spent a lot of money (somewhere around 2000 if not 2500 euros over the last four years and having bought subscriptions for multiple accounts) it doesn't really feel right that, until now, I have been excluded from all promos without knowing why or what I'm doing wrong.

Some clarity on the whole issue would be much appreciated. Am I living in the wrong country? Do I need to spend less because they don't have any reason to give me a free ship, knowing that they'll get my money anyway? :p

    LOL mouse-14.gif:

Update: A representative for PWE issued the following statement to Massively OP in regard to these ships: “The gold-plated T6 Ferengi ship was sent out to a select group of players as part of an e-mail specific promotion. Unfortunately we aren’t able to reveal any additional information, as it goes against our policy to protect the privacy of our community members.”

I'm guessing this was the email titled " Time Travel - How Does That Work? " , if so then I guess I am subscribed.

I wonder, how many folks that got the "prize", have their credit card info saved on their ARC account?

I don't, but perhaps that's one of the criteria??

It was the expected outcome.

Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
    unfortunately:

    NOT LOYAL ENOUGH!!!
