I think you'll find licensed creative-types have more respect for creator intent than fan argument, but we'll see.
Well I'd rather they'd cared more for matching what was onscreen that we all saw that was was scribbled on the back of a bus ticket somewhere on the internet.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

A T6 Excalibur, or at least a ship that can use the skin, would be nice. But what about the Exeter? I've always liked the look of that ship but still haven't purchased it because I have plenty of low tiered ships Cryptic gave away for free to everybody over the years. And leveling up is so fast you'd only use it for like an hour at best before you can use the next tier.
If we do ever get a T6 connie, I hope they don't forget about the original ship skins they created.

so make a new thread for the Exeter skin :P While I happen to agree with the request, and even nagus seemed to, this thread is about Excaliburs

They are the same ship. Unlike the Constitution, the Excalibur and Vespa, are 2409 ships with the Exeter being the 2410 refit. Asking for a T6 version or (or refit thereof) of the Excalibur, is asking for a T6 or refit of the Exeter (and Vespa). This pattern has held for every ship family refitted in the game with the exception of the Galaxy line, where (thankfully to all and any gods) the Celestial and Envoy are unavailable at T6.
There's your justification and thinly veiled excuse for this not being a T6 Constitution (TOS, TMP, or AR) thread, as the is a precedence for level locked skins. But the Vespa and Exeter are still subjects of this thread because any hypothetical T6 Excalibur refit would automatically include those two variants by default.

Alright, this is already 30 pages long. Doesn't seem to be much more than can be said about this topic already on or off rails. We have already hit the third rail that gives certain miscreants immense pleasure on that outcome.

T6 excaliber should b a balance of emg / tac / sci
I'd rather see the Excalibur be an escort/cruiser hybrid, escort health and maneuverability, cruiser mechanics, universal commander seat ... I'd also prefer an Intel seat so I could slot OSS, but command is probably more likely even though it's a bit too common imo.

Wouldnt that be kinda like the Light Cruiser I suggested? :P More seriously tho, not as maneuverable as an escort imo, we could use something (mechanically speaking) that's something similar to a science ship in terms of hull and turn but without the science focus. Hence my suggestion to give it an Eng focus with a side of Tac. I agree with kekvin that ideally it would be a more general vessel but I don't think the game mechanics would allow for it, nor would a 'generic' vessel like that sell particularly well.

I like that. We have escorts that function as carriers, a nimble cruiser that functions as an escort could work nicely. And it's different from a battlecruiser as it would have a different blend of maneuverability, durability, and firepower.
The intel would also be a nice use.
It's sad that nothing in this game responds to the type of ship we use, it would be good subterfuge to have intel ship that doesn't look like an intel ship.

Well we can't call it a light cruiser as that's already a ship type in the game. But yeah a ship with sci ship like stats, but an eng/tac focus would work.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
No reason a ship type classification can't be reused, that's like saying you cant build more destroyers because you have old ones.
Where have they reused ship classifications though? Within the same faction? That said calling it a Tier 6 Light Cruiser could work. But wouldn't really show the difference when we're adding a pilot or intel specialization to the ship. So Light Pilot Cruiser or Light Intelligence Cruiser?

meh intel powers kinda suck :P and I'm just fine w/o the gimmick spec seating

OSS is awesome, especially if you combine it with EP2W and A2B like I do on my bug ship ... stuff just melts with that combo
While you're BS'ing, the one true Starfleet Flight deck cruiser should've always been a Galaxy class. It's got a parking lot like a Scimitar in there.

so make a new thread for the Exeter skin :P While I happen to agree with the request, and even nagus seemed to, this thread is about Excaliburs

The EP has asked for suggestions for a T6 ship. I say excaliber. Shes the best of the best

True but it's the one class of ship besides warbird starfleet doesn't have yet lol.
