PvP did not get kemocite nerfed. If you knew anything about this whole situation, you'd notice that prominent DPS community members were leading the testing into the inconsistencies of kemocite, and also the same for neutronics.
I wouldn't be surprised if this never happened either. It's been well over a month already. It may be just too much of a money-maker.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

the main question is, we should ask here: how can we convince the devs to totally remove pvp from this game? those 5 or 10 remaining pvp-players are the constant source of nerfs. they got ionic tubulence nerfed, surgical strikes, neutronic damage, and now kemocite. its time to get rid of pvp, so there is no need for "balancing" anymore!
Balderdash. While not as much balance may be needed in PvE as in PvP, still an MMO needs multiple approaches to reach similar goals. And the Kemocite Lag problem has nothing to do with balance (there were balance problems in it as well).
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
The only way to get rid of it is for me to go bankrupt buying it for 6 characters!

Cryptic just refuses to admit that torpedoes suck so this is going to keep happening. Don't know why anyone who wants to play elite would even use them.
im starting this thread for shear clarity of what this nerf will actually do to the player like myself who is using neutronic torp spread three and kemo and what the nerf will do to that. ive already tried and run stfs with out kemo and see a huge drop in dps so what that tells me is the nerf is going to make builds like mine completly useless and im going to have to get all new gear to run all beams to get anywhere when it comes to dps. ive made the grind more fun by using ts3 and kemo with nuetronic torp and now cryptic is going to make all my work getting kemo and upgrading my torp and consoles complety wasted and it might just push me away from a game ive been playing for 3 to 4 years now and i think there are people out there who think the same thing. if its a true fix of teh double proc im fine with that but other than that i see kemo as working as intended when it was realesed and this has happened before with plasma weps and teh plasma sci consoles being nerfed when those things made the game fun for alot of people and people put hard earned resources into getting that gear to the highest level only to have it rendered useless. all i have to ask is why cryptic why?
itll be fun to watch kemo's price plummet after the nerf lol
well atleast i will be able to do mirror invasion and not have kemo junkies one shot killing everything forcing me to afk when id rather be shooting stuff.

The making of the money is in dangling the carrot in front of us. People buy into it, en masse, and then, a few months down the road, Bort 'suddenly' concludes that it's OP and needs a nerf (right about when the next shiny is around the corner) . All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

I kind of think this one is different. It is extremely powerful. Almost to the point where I feel I have to get it to keep up with Jones's. But then it seems also tied up with torpedo spread. If the fix means that TS3 will be also nerfed, I say keep kemo. I'll burn 6 million dil and get it for all. Because I really enjoy TS3 that much. silly but true.

I can assure you that you are making this statement out of ignorance. To blame PvP players for any of the above is laughable at best.

I enjoy TS3 too. In fact, that is what baffles me about the whole thing: torps did *not* need a nerf. In fact, even with Kemocite, they still need a buff (compared to what you can do with pure beams). I actually was so naive, back when, to think Kemo was one of Cryptic's ways to bring about a bit of said buff. Alas, I was mistaken.
@unsacredgrave Yes PvPers have made such a difference to this game, because the devs obviously listen to us, that there's been no content added to it.
You want an unbalanced game? You want to see what it looks like?? Go into kerrat and see what it looks like when something hits you with 100k+ of shield penetrating damage after resists. Because NPCs in STFs will be doing that in an unbalanced game. No amount of BFI, resists and RSP will help you then, not even your shiny gold gear. And then you'll be crying for balance!
The fact is after DR and the majority of the PvP community left, the PvErs were having problems with other PvErs and their quest for ever more DPS. Even the devs had a problem with the PvErs which is why they nerfed plasma dopping to the ground!
You want your PvE and tactical captains ruling the game and DPS league? Go for it. Have it! Because that's a game without balance. Let's see how long it lasts, let's see how many players back that up once they realise what they've asked for.
Don't deny that before season 9 this game was far more balanced than it is now. It was fun! PvE used to be fun too. Look at what the PvE mentality has turned it into. All everyone does is play spacebar hero!
You and a lot of PvErs come accross as having no interest of fair play and no passion for this game or the franchise, so much so that I've started to believe that all you want is to have your cake and eat it too. Ruin everyone's fun and roll around in your sty of endless grinding and dissentry!
You don't want to PvP? No one is asking you to PvP. We don't want you and your attitude! We got enough attitude from the mouthy, cheese spamming turnips that were allowed to thrive because of broken gear. They got a good beating from the decent PvPers before season 9 started because there was some measure of balance. You should've been there to see it. Even my fleet defiant without broken cheese could stand up to a Bug ship using cheese, that's how balanced it got and then season 9 came.
If memory serves even PvErs suffered because they were being facerolled by NPCs. That's what this game will look like when you get your unbalanced broken abilities.
I run a torp build and use kemo and TS3, and honestly? It needs fixing. Your build should be more than just 'TS3 + kemocite', and I see all these people complaining about how their DPS will drop- no TRIBBLE, Cryptic's fixing some broke TRIBBLE TRIBBLE you're exploiting, of course your DPS is going down.
This is just like when the DPS league was using the infinite tricobalt exploit- and when that got fixed, you guys whined the same way you're doing now- oh no, muh precious dupses.

I'd bet you that if there wasn't a client/server/network performance issue, it wouldn't be addressed. No matter, as the addition of more powercreep will lead up to the same performance issues if the root cause(s) have not been fixed.
Regardless, TS+KLW is so powerful, that the HSE record used HY1 & HY3 + its affects for the majority of the damage.

Interesting, since members of this 'DPS Community' are included in those making a noise about it being fixed and seem more than happy to use it in its current, OP, state. Not to mention the 'look how amazing I am' videos. Hmmm.....
You might want to specify who in the 'DPS Community' you are referring to. Considering that @snipey47a and I were on the leading edge of the Kemocite Konundrum, and then Alfie, John-Numbers, Porchsong, SoB, and @sarcasmdetector (The main DPS Admins), also ran tests and crunched numbers in order to figure out a way to deal with KLW for the DPS Channels, because it was OBVIOUSLY BEING EXPLOITED when the full interaction of KLW + FaW and TS were understood......
Yes but the players you just mentioned are PvP veterans since way back in the day. Hence why they care. The average DPSer doesn't care about balance they are the ones that cry against the much needed nerfing.

Im not so sure that statement is true risingwolf you are generalizing for a lot of people. I use kemo for the moment but if it gets adjusted oh well Im not freaking out about it, and most of the people ive talked to in the dps channels also arent exactly bothered by kemo being changed. Actually people were snarking at the QQing going on in this thread over it.
If this people could just get rid of all the people that care about balance and fairness, it would be so much better.
Because we all know that no one was ever bothered by the Galaxy Class underperforming because it didn't have enough tactical slots, or that no one ever complained about the Jupiter Carrier having not enough weapons, or tactical slots...

What people don't realize, whether they be God's that bleed or whatever, is people are not upset that it is being fixed (multiple procs on each target) it is they they are removing the multiples AND removing the proc from every other Torpedo in the spread and leaving it only on the so-called Target.
'Mr. Tomlinson, prepare a Photon Torpedo spread. Lace only one of the Torpedoes with Kemocite. Hopefully that Torpedo in the spread hits the main target.'
'What main target we are firing a spread out into that mob of ships?'
'Just fire the damn spread, the KL Torpedo will know which is the main target!!!'

I have nothing against DPSers or PvErs that understand there's a need for balance. I don't often meet them here in the forums and that is a shame.
But I don't like people that feel the need to say that PvP, the quest for balance and nerfing should be obliterated. That to me is the mentality of a child! A game needs rules. That's like saying "well it's ok for the pawns to have the same movement as the queen!" It doesn't make sense, it doesn't work and it's not fun.
The PvE community has had 5 years of PvE content and for some reason they throw a massive fit when someone asks for something to do with PvP. Why!? Whats wrong with enjoying PvP (when it was at its most balanced)? There are so many people (The majority PvErs) that complain about the lack of accessibility in PvP, the fact that ganking, vaping and abusing cheese is allowed. Guess what, we hate it too!
That's why we were asking for change, we don't like the fact that PvP is a hostile environment where there's one build to rule them all and one cheese to bind them all.
But all the vocal anti-PvPers don't seem to care that this game lost a fair number of people over the years, because of the decline of PvP, which means less money for cryptic to develop your beloved bore and grind fest you call PvE!
Wake up! Asking for the devs to axe a community of paying customers is the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot. Why do you think powercreep has stepped up? Why do you think there's ships being released every other month? Why do you think the exchange has skyrocketed in prices? Because cryptic is desperate for money from the players that remain.
The queues, battlezones and hubs were full before and during the first few weeks of DR. But now, there's only a handful of queues that pop, social zones are considerably less empty and the people that are left think they're god's gift to PvE. I've never been challenged so much to private matches before DR as I have now. And it's all mouthy players that think better gear makes me a better player, which apparently gives them the right to tread on everyone else in am STF. And then they rant when they get spanked by someone without gold gear or running über CritD builds with no cheese and call it unfair!
These are the kind of players that benefit from the direction this game is taking. Pat yourselves on the back.
