I'm interested, heavily, in this grouping. I hope that these ships get an Intel seat, because it would really fit with the whole natural concept of the B'Rel Retro and the T'Varo Retro. I'm also looking forward to the trait on these ships, as I have a very high tendency to lean to ships that feature a cannon loadout. 4/3 isn't as bad to me as it seems to others, though with many of the weapon sets taking up two forward slots I can understand the grievances of escort operators. I tend to run big guns forward, turrets and an omni aft, so I can stack up my offensive firepower. However, I doubt they will change the weapon loadout to 5/2 from 4/3, because it breaks with the history of the designs.
The one thing I would really like to see for the T'Varo, is not a change to the stats, but an upgrade of the model. I want to be able to customize my T'Varo more than just which costume I use and which paint pattern I opt for. I would love to put the T'Varo nacelles on the T'Liss straight-wing hull, for example. The B'Rel and Defiant have customization improvements, but the T'Varo was short-sticked on that one. Please, fix this error, I truly dislike being unable to customize my ships.
Granted, I'm also an old-schooler who would love to see a T6 D-7 Battlecruiser.. the iconic image of the Klingon Battlecruiser from the original series and many of the original movies.
While most People expect a Pilot Seating, i would be Fine with Pilot OR Intel (my personal Favourite is Intel) as long as they dont come up with the Idea to Slap COMMAND on those Ships, because that would be a SLAP in our Faces, a Painfull Slap.
And breaking with the Historical Designs.....things change in Time, look at all the New Shiny Escorts (esspecially Pilots) they set a new Standard that is so high, that Upgrades of older Ships HAVE to change those Designs to compete with the allready Existing ones, and a Dedicited Heavy Hitter Warship like the Defiant should also be part of that high standard, so a 5 /2 Weapons Layout would fit the Defiant more than any other Ship.
Isnt pilot Maneuvers just a gimmick, does it really do anything for survivability or attacking?
Yes, and yes, if you use it properly. I use it mainly to extend an attack run, hard reverse to give myself another four or five kms of keeping my target in my sights. If I'm advancing at half throttle, it recharges fast enough that I can usually keep a target in my forward arc until it's dead.
Right and left roll is also useful for similar reasons, to either keep a turning ship in front of me, or to duck out of a potential broadside back to the aft quarter of my target. It's good for 'dodging' a torpedo spread that's about to hit, dashing out of an exploding ship's range or out of an imminent AOE (like targetable torps that you can't otherwise kill. In an emergency, it can buy you the five or so seconds you need to deal with them.)
As for Cryptic, let me put it this way: if they gave the Defiant/B'rel T6 pilot maneuvers, the purchase of the full pack would be an absolute no-brainer for me on that and looks alone. I'm not that fussy about photons vs quantums (although the change is appreciated), and I can live with the cloak as a console. As far as 5/2 vs 4/3, I'd prefer 5/2, but could live with 4/3, and I don't care _that_ much about the boff seating. I mean, I care, but I'd adapt to what I was given.
But without the maneuvers, I'm better off sticking with the pilot ships for that role, my Arbiter, or my Kumari. The Defiant _is_ a jack of all trades, but doesn't really bring anything to the table those three can't do as well or better in their own ways.
It really pisses me off to no end the dunderheads asking for integrated cloak. Please comprehend "3 pc set synergy" Just because the kdf always loose out to set synergies doesnt mean everyone else has to suffer.
Look at past trends from this year, all fed ships that have a line already use all the previous versions consoles as a set. The Yamato uses the Gal-X cloak in its set, so probability states the defiant will use it too. Also its makes perfect canical sense for the feds not to have inbuilt cloaks, forget the intel ships those are an aboration.
Please forget about it, if you need an inbuilt cloak go be a romulan, youd be more happy.
Pssst... ships are on tribble, the defiant still has the photon warhead in its description, but that's to be expected since they just said it would be changed and tribble hasn't been patched for that yet. Read, enjoy, discuss.

Rage Much?? Past Trends are PAST, things change, get Improved, newer stuff outperforms older stuff, older stuff is realeased in NEW Versions with CHANGES to keep up with the time and the other Shinys. And the fact that the Yamato uses the Cloak Console does not mean its a good thing, because its NOT, it should also have the Non Battle Claok Integrated.
There were 2 TWO Ships in the Show that had Claok PERMANENTLY Build into them, the Galaxy X and the Defiant, and THATS why in Game they should have those integrated and not with a useless Console. Regarding the "Perfect Canical Sense" for Feds not to have inbuilt cloak.....ehh yea and that is? again DEFIANT and GALAXY X had them so sorry but nonsense.
For you the Intel Ships may be aborations, for others THOSE were leading the right way, for INTEGRATED CLOAK, and thats why its sad that with the Yamato they went back to a Console Cloak, and thats why most /many People STILL hope that at least this new Defiant will not need that Waste of Space Console to have Cloak.
Reading your Last Sentence, i gues you are a Romulan Only Player, who has a Problem with Players from the other Factions also getting some Toys, like saying "ITS MINE MINE MINE, you CANT HAVE IT!!!"
Like it or not, you will not change the Fact that there were CANON Federation Ships in the Show with Cloaking Devices, other than the Klingons and Romulans!
Those 3 New Ships are avaible in a Cross Faction Pack, with 2 of them having Claok integrated by default (Rom and KDF) so it would be only FAIR if the Federation one would get that too. The T5 B'Rel has Battle Cloak so should the T6, the Rom T5 had Enhanced Battle Cloak so should the T6, so for ***ADD SOMETHING HERE** SAKE DONT TELL ME ITS TO MUCH TO ASK FOR FEDS TO HAVE A NONE BATTLECLOAK INTEGRATED!
You call us Dunderheads??? (Whatever that means, dont make me google it) than what are you? I can tell you, SELFISH, thats what you are, if you are happy with your Rom Ships than thats fine, no reason to be Selfish when it comes for others to have a little bit of that too ( Enhanced Battlecloak vs STINKY NON BATTLECLOAK)
By the way, i have around the same amount of Romulan, Klingon and Federation Characters, and i enjoy using Cloak whenever i can, and i would also like to enjoy it on Federation Ships that are SUPPOSED to have them TOO, but without that Console Please.
as a sidenote......"Officerbatman81"?!...you are not from the 117th Tactical Fleet Elite (now STARFLEET FREELANCER) Fleet are you?
Maybe nice ships... for others.
Me - i'm still waiting for T6 Dyson Science Destroyers
Or eventually T6 Scimitar/Odyssey/Bortasqu Bundle (one can hope - right?)
I want both of them really badly. Not ready to give up either the Scimi of my Rom Eng nor the Dyson of my Rom Sci for anything other then T6 ships of comparable nature.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Enhanced Battle Cloaking Device on the Bird of Pray.......Romulan Battle Cloaking Device on the Warbird.....but nothing about a Integrated Non Battlecloak on the poor Defiant / Valiant, or nothing about any cloaking mentioned at all.....not to excited but i will wait.....
Nevermind i just saw the part with the "Cloaking Device Console".......

All these quantum vs. photon rants will pale in comparison with the rage of people seeing the stats of the Valiant (with what I've seen people expecting of a T6 Defiant, not even Scimitar or pilot escort stats would do).
Oh yeah - there is going to be some rage, regardless - those players who have posted things like (and I quote):
"The Defiant is a WARSHIP"
or
"It should have a 5/3 weapons layout and integrated cloak
and of course
"it NEEDS pilot maneouvers"
were never going to happy with this ship.
And I was right on the money.
And it almost seems I wasn't. So far it's more disapointment than rage. But maybe that's still to come. Heh...
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

and what do you expect?
That we jump into the Air and Scream Hooray! and make Backflips when we clearly see that what we allready have is better than this?
Pilot Ships have a Com Level Pilot Seat, the Dodging Maneuvers AND 5 /2 Weapons, Intel Ships have a Com Level Intel Seat the Intel Abilitys AND Integrated Cloak, Command Ships have a Com Level Command Seat and Command Abilitys.......so you tell me WHAT does the Valiant have, what can it do that the other ones cant do better????
I / we / some /many whatever People said often enough give us SOME not ALL.
It is understandable that the "Special" Abilitys of the Ships the "Pilot Dodging" and the "Intel + Command Abilitys" are Special to those Ships, got that, no Problem, they can keep those. BUT BUT BUT, what the heck was the Problem to give the New Shiny (or in this case not so Shiny) Defiant some Toys on board???? at least the 5 / 2 Weapon Layout and the Integrated Cloak and friggin EVERYONE (or most) would be HAPPY. But what we got is nothing but a "slightly" improved (the Keyword is SLIGHTLY) T5 Defiant with a new Console, a Trait, new Costume and MINOR Changes........it is SAD. As a Die Hard Trek Fan, i love the Original Designs, but i dont like to Pay that much money for "Just a Costume" sorry but nope, my 5K Zen worth of Money will stay where it is. (5K because i wanted to buy the Bundle......)
I love the rage of tears over anyone expecting anything more than a slight upgrade to the T5 version.
They didn't do it with the Pathfinder, they didn't do it with the Andromeda, they didn't do it with the Arbiter, they didn't do it with the Excelsior, and they didn't do it with the Yamato. Same applies to the KDF and Romulan equivalents as far as those that were part of an X-Faction bundle goes (at most, the others just got some minor extras to match where possible, like the Lances and hangars on the Dreadnought X-Faction Bundle). What makes anyone think they would do it with the Defiant when they didn't with the other "Iconic" ships?
And no BS about "Because muh favorite ship deserves it" or "'cause it's a TACTICOOL SHIPPU and needs to be l33tist of the l33t and be as haxors as Sisko!" Because the same silly arguments can be said for the other Iconic ships with minimal word changes.
Really, we're back to the same whining, complaining, and drama that has been repeated since the Pathfinder. It's not going to change.
At least they gave it Quantums over Photons, so players can now pair it with Neutronic and go for a Quantum Torp boat. I do wish they kept the Photon Torpedo console though, but made it usable on all ships, and only available as part of the bundle. Would be nice having a new ship-based console usable on other ships. The last one was the Regent's Gas canisters.
I can agree to agree that we can disagree. Your Oppinions are yours, and mine are mines, in the end the stats are out now and i dont think that they will change anything after this stage (even so such a thing happened with the Hestia....) i came, i saw, i am not impressed so i keep mah Euros and leave, simple as that.
and @hyperionx09 i love the rage of people who rage about other peoples rage, you feel better now?
anyway have fun all.
But I'm not raging. I'm sitting back enjoying tea infused with schadenfreude in place of sugar. I know better than to get angry on a forum on the internet over something as trivial as a Quantum or Photon torp gimmick console.
But I agree it's best to part ways here. The stats are in and set the stage for torpedo escorts pretending to be cannon escorts.
Sorry but i love the defiant and BOP and can overlook alot of things but by all rights, they should be a pilot ship. Theres not a single episode gone by in the series where either of them don't do fancy piloting maneuvers.
Its a shame CBS signed off on this TRIBBLE, especially at that price. I can live without 5/3, I can live without integrated cloak, i can live without it being a 'god ship', I honestly don't even care about gimmick consoles either but I can't accept them without piloting maneuvers, thats just canon, to release without those mechanics is releasing neutered versions of these iconic ships.
dont think Tea with "Schadenfreude" (a german word by the way) would please me, i like my Hot Earl Gray with Sugar, thats why i have one right now
No orange peels infused? I like mine with a hint of orange. And mint. I actually have to be strict with sugar. Not for medical reasons; just self-imposed.
It's a nice alternative to coffee in the afternoon and evenings.

I don't think I'm raging about people raging either. My feelings are somewhere between sighting, rolling my eyes and feeling some amusement.
While Cryptic is at times truly cryptic in their actions, they usually maintain at least some consistency. In the case of releasing T6 ships based on equivalent T5 versions, the changes are pretty consistent indeed. And the exceptions to that process are concentrated on the KDF and ROM sides in an attempt to fill out niches (inexistent escort carrier on KDF side prior to the Qa'tel flight deck raptor, inexistent Dreadnought cruiser characteristics for ROMs basically replicated by the Kara).
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
