Hell yeah!! I've been waiting forever on a T6 T'varo

Really annoyed that the KDF and Rom versions of the console are specifically nerfed compared to the fed one. Fed is any escort, KDF is 'only Birds of Prey', and Rom is the worst with 'only T'varo variants'

The announcement says it can be equipped on any Tactical Escort. That should mean, it can only be used on the Defiant and its lower tier versions.

The Valiant's look is interesting. Reminds me of a Peregrine.

The Valiant is straight-up from the original draft designs of the Defiant for DS9. So we'll have "faithful reproductions" of the original draft, and the final version.

    I LOVE IT!

I gotta say, that I approve.

However it rolls into my desire for the Kor Bird of Prey.

My favorite Bird of Prey is the Hegh'ta, which is based on a concept design John Eaves did for a new Bird of Prey that would've been introduced during the Klingon War arc on DS9. Obviously that didn't happen, so Team Cryptic in their wisdom gave us the Hegh'ta. It's my main Klingon's primary ship.

Now considering that they've just given us a T6 B'Rel and there was only ever one C-store Bird of Prey before this, I certainly don't expect them to give me a proper T6 Hegh'ta (even though as a newer ship it should be the direction of the type going forward).

Trendy I know it's a lot, but if I could impose on your awesomeness, could you please ask the Devs to maybe hook up the T5 Heghta's visuals to the Kor Bird of Prey as well? Pretty Please with Apple Smoked Bacon on top? :(

To the comments regarding the Tactical Escort using Photons, the USS Defiant used Photons on the USS Lakota, so the Defiant is compatible for both Quantum and Photon torpedoes and other torpedo weapons.

Therefore: The Tactical Escort can use ANY kind of Torpedo, even Photons, as they're compatible for it.

What is with the trait? It doesn't match the ship. Why is the trait for cannons and not about torps. These are primarily torp boats, the trait and console should reflect that
Primarily Torpedo boats? Since when? Most of the Defiant's attacks have been primarily with her cannons. Same for the BoPs.

Based on canon, yes, there was no such thing as a quantum tube or a photon tube, they were warheads that could be launched out of any torpedo tube, but since for some weird reason STO made that up, and the module seems to be specific on what type of torpedo it launches, that type should be the type most commonly used by the ship in question, which in the case of the Defiant should be quantums.

Hope they change the defiants console to quantum torpedos. Would be nice if since the bundle is cross faction if the consoles could be cross faction as well letting you use whatever fit your build but limit them to 1 per ship so you couldnt equip them all. Simply making them claimable via the reclaim store would work.

Hope each of them at least gets some of the pilot manuver mechanics, other wise they wont even come close to the pilot ships.

So much this-ness. I was hoping against hope that, since this is probably the last new BoP we'll see that they'd give us the choice to use either the Hegh'ta or the Ning'tao skins, or both. I like them a ton better than the B'rel.

For me, if the Hegh'ta and/or Ning'tao skins are made available, I'll likely buy the bundle. If not, I'll keep using my Fleet Norgh with the Ning'tao skin, and maybe just buy the new T'varo. From the wording on the announcement, I'm not holding my breath.

Now that Defiant/BOP/T'Varo people finally got their T6 (or better said will get them soon), I'm hoping that next ship on the list is T6 Sovereign. It simply has to be, as she has many fans too and is also one of the last of iconic ships out there. And please, don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy for those people who wanted these ships, it's just that they are not that much of an interest to me.

Two iconic ships, Defiant and Bird-of-Prey, in T6. Finally! Cannon trait could be a bit stronger, but at least a little attention to long-neglected guns. I hope that the developers were smart enough and added the ability to use any BoP skin , it motivates players to buy low tier BoPs.
Romulans have enough escorts, we waiting for T6 sci ship (and pls no reskinned Ha'nom).

Came here to suggest the Valiant get a Quantum Warhead Module, glad to see several others agree.

The ships look amazing otherwise! Great job.

"These starships are available in the C-store individually, or they can be found packaged together in the T6 Cross Faction Escort Bundle."

This would seem to imply that it is available for purchase right now, but I didn't see it when I took a quick look at lunch.

I'd like to see a console and weapon's revamp myself. To start, build each weapon like we can build kits. So you can take a MKXII Torpedo/tube and then slot whatever warhead you want. So for instance, I have the Regent (Assault Cruiser Refit) so the Wide Arc Torpedo Launcher is the Tube, and then in that tube I can slot either the normal Quantum, or a Gravimetric Photon if I like.

I dare to dream. Come with me. (Sorry was watching Cosmos last night)

There's nothing wrong with the B'Rel, it's the Thunderbird of Klingon ship design. And I appreciate the Kor. But there's no outlet for the newer designs and it makes me sad.

Not that I wouldn't mind a separate T6 Hegh'ta. Maybe make the delta pylons on the wings a bit rounder, maybe show crossover design with Republic Warbirds?

Something like that would make more sense than what we have now. What we have now makes as much sense as having to swap main gun barrels on tanks to fire AP rounds or HE rounds, when all they really have to do is chamber the type of round they want.

"Oh no, guys, we have to engage infantry and we're fitted with the AP barrel. Someone has to go outside the tank and unscrew it and TRIBBLE in the HE barrel!" The upside is we have an infinite amount of whichever type of ammo the tube is fitted for, so there's that I guess.

My only big problem I am worried about is if the original costume problem with the fleet b'rel where it can't use the b'lroth costume will be fixed. Overall besides being so excited about a T6 bop of all things that we are getting a defiant too and t'varo :D
  • clearcha0sclearcha0s Member Posts: 28 Arc User
Really getting tired of your TRIBBLE Cyptic. Why don't you have any creativity anymore? These ship costume updates with a console thrown in are annoying and blatant grabs for money without actually doing much work. These ships could be so much more interesting, but no. I'll not be buying anymore of your costume collection. If I do get it I'll grind the zen out of dilithium as I refuse to pay for a cheap visual enhancement.

Probably buy this when it comes out. Been waiting for a T6 bop for a long while. I only wish that the trait was for CRF, or perhaps both. As small ships with probably correspondingly small hull integrity... Choosing your target and hammering it with CRF seems more in the flavor of a Bird of Prey... Oh well.

There was a time when I was really looking forward to an update to the Defiant.

    There was.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.

Yes and no. From what I understand, a tube that could fire a quantum torpedo could fire a photon, but not vice versa. Probably something to do with tube / launcher mechanisms that are reinforced for the heavier payload, but are backwards compatible. A tube built for photon warheads would need modifications for accepting new types of torpedos. Case in point, the Defiant was stated to have state of the art weaponry, including the tubes. And I believe Voyager's tubes needed to be on-the-fly modified to accept the handful of different torp types they toyed with along the way.

And yes, that console should shoot quantums.
