And now, the reactions of the Star Trek characters:
-Kagran: "Weeks from a working prototype, Nog said, no amount of time manipulation will change that, he said!"
-T'Ket: "Our sister will be rolling in her grave at each successful roll."
-Crey: "I'm so gonna get retgone by the Temporal Bureau for allowing this".
-Temporal Bureau: "Kirk is no longer the winner of time-violations."
-Guardian of Forever: "I feel so irrelevant now!"
Highly disappointing, but not surprised as everyone saw it coming in such event.
If it was in the C-store, i would have break the bank to acquire it. But no, it's still their f..... gambling system.
Maybe i will spend 25$ to acquire some packs but not more as i am feeling scammed in a way.
I think Cryptic is making a terrible mystake on this one as it is fairly popular thanks to the "Years of Hell" episode in Voyager. I'm sure they would have earn much more money if put in the C-store.
Guess my Science Ferasan has to wait to have a good T6 science ship.
Woooow, like no way man... Nifty looking ship there.
Guess stats are tomorrow. Wonder if it will have 4/3 weapons layout, since on carriers, when attached Dreadnought in name it gained 1 fore weapon from conventional 3/3 to 4/3.
I have nothing against the gamble game that Cryptic runs. I just use my freedom to not take part on this. I also learned to accept that Cryptic put on lock boxes/DOff packs ships that players should NEVER be able to play. I'm not okay with it, but I usually do not complain either. But, really Cryptic? Don't you think you are getting a bit too far with this specific ship??? Perhaps just a bit??? Couldn't it be some other silly ship??? For me, this sounds worst than handling players a Borg cube. As a hard-core trekkie, I'm disappointed .

Thanks Cryptic for introducing the Kelvin Timeline. It remembered why I decided to never more put any money on this game.
Kind of a jerkbag move, Cryptic. But whatever, people are going to eat it up anyway so who am I to judge?
I've always thought the day you get down on the game it's time to worry

I'm thinking that this one is a bit different. It sounds like it actually gives you a second object that has the lobi/Annorax in it.
It sounds exactly like the JHAS and Bulwark promo packs that involved the Romulan Survivor DOFF packs. When you bought the thing from the C-store during the promotion, instead of getting a [Romulan Survivor Duty Officer Pack] item, you got a [Promotion! - Romulan Survivor Duty Officer Pack] item. When you opened that [Promotion! - Romulan Survivor Duty Officer Pack] (even after the promotion ended), you received a [Romulan Survivor Duty Officer Pack] plus either 10 lobi or a ship.
Close, I'm thinking the Promotion! boxes auto-open now.
Instead of this mewling whining, you guys should be celebrating the fact that Promo Madness Is Coming!
Use your brains people, it's that thing inside your head. You can get space rich from just this one event, and easily afford the omg science dreadnought omg
I must not be good with brains, because I don't understand how to afford the ship. It requires either 1) paying for it with EC (~300MM my guess) or 2) paying for it with ZEN and praying to RNGesus (~$275)
Option 2 requires lots of real cash, or lots of grinding to get the ZEN. Option 1 requires lots of EC either through grinding or a mix of capital/buylow/sellhigh trading between various items and currencies.
I don't see any way around paying a lot for the ship without high capital investment ($, Z, dilithium, or EC). Do you really think one could afford this ship with (say) 30MM EC? Even if you buy the tons of cheap items that will be flooding the exchange, they will only appreciate in value after the promo ends and supplies go back to normal. I am no Ferengi, but I don't see how to get space rich enough to afford the ship. Unless you are talking about striking it rich with someone who forgets to put an extra 0 on 10-stacks of items on the Exchange?
Ya know. A long term player said to me the other day, "you're not expecting the game itself to provide you with lots of EC are you"? If you want to be able to buy all the cool stuff, you've got to play the game to make the "cash". I've been at this less than 3 months and I've racked up 200m EC. I've probably spent 100m along the way as well. It's a matter of being "smart" to grind out the dil and Zen and, most importantly, to stockpile so you can be prepared for these sorts of events.
The other day repetitiveepic mentioned something in a chat room and I jumped on it. Made 50m in a couple days just from that alone. Could be more but my resources are still somewhat limited. Didn't know what I was doing for much of the Summer event but in the last 10 days of it or so I made 30m+. Could have been a lot more but I was burned out from it. The new Lockbox put another 30m or so in my bank. Plus I have some other things I do that gets me probably 5m-10m a day. So to make the EC, you have to put yourself in that mindset and then setup the infrastucture to be able to do it "easily", which does take some time and grinding to do.
No wonder the Manheim got fixed a few weeks back...
You didn't figure that? Wouldn't look too good if they put out another 500 million EC ship that constantly kept blowing itself up.

We are running a promotion from 9AM PDT on August 13th to 10AM PDT on August 27th! for a limited time that will provide an additional bonus when opening a Delta Alliance Duty Officer Pack!
This isn't really true, though. You get the bonus lobi/ship when you open the [Promotion! - Delta Alliance Duty Officer Pack] wrapper item, not the actual doff pack item.
NOTE: Newly purchased Delta Alliance Duty Officer packs will only offer the chance to win the Krenim Annorax Science Dreadnought during this promotional event. Once this event ends, the packs will revert back to their previous state and no longer offer the Annorax.
This is such a weird and inaccurate way of saying that only the item listed for sale in the C-store is reverted back to the standard DOFF pack listing, rather than the promotion pack, but that nothing actually changes with the left over promo packs people still have.
It really seems like this is a weird copy/paste edit job of those old announcements that were made when promotional ships actually did drop from actual doff packs, instead of promo packs, and then mixed in with some fine print about promo packs. It's bizarre, really.
Any chance this announcement template will get a complete re-write to make it factually accurate?
If that pack has the Promotion Wrapper that wrapper stays with the pack until the end of time, so to speak. Again, another poorly worded announcement.

The "Safe" (Fair, Honest, Morally Acceptable) way to offer ships like this would be to put them both in the C-Store and scambling boxes.
This would have the dual effect of producing income from people like me who don't use these boxes and bleeding off the exploit urge from those so inclined as they "win" a ship instead of buying it.
Yeah, at moments like this, I am glad I don't collect ships.

Well, the Exchange has reacted quickly. The Temporal Destroyer went up about 15+ Million EC since last night. The Temporal Science Ship went through the roof. The two still available on the Exchange are 495 or 500 Million EC. Last night there were five copies there ranging from 279 - 300 Million. I was going to pick up one at 279 but hesitated. Today after the announcement by the time I checked the Exchange, there were three 298 M, 300 M, and 500 M. I managed to pick up the 298 M. The 300 M was either picked up or taken off and relisted at 495 M.
Don't you just love the Free Market.
Edit for update: Last night when I checked the Temporal Destroyer went up between 140 M to 240 M EC above the earlier 15 M spike. Three new Temporal Science Ships were added dropping the price to 450 M at the lowest.

I have spent over $500 alone just trying to get ONE freaking premium ship from the lockboxes and in that $500 only got ONE when I didn't even want too because I was trying to get 200 Lobi Crystals. So if it took me well over $500 in f**king keys, imagine how much I would need to get this bloody dread.
How in f**k sake can you add the ONLY DAMN SCIENCE SHIP IN AGES in a God damn gamble pack? F**k this s**t, add it to the freaking C-Store as a standard ship, not a gamble bulls**t. Keep your stupid ship, I know when to draw the line, lol!

$500 = approx 444 keys. 444 keys * say 3.5m EC = 1.554 billion EC. How many premium ships could you have bought with that? Course you don't have to do keys either. Sometimes (not since the new lockbox came out though), FSMs are a better choice. And there are other things that can sometimes get you more EC/zen.
Bear in mind, the fact that it is called a "Science Dreadnought" doesn't mean it's going to be a Sci vessel. With the Chroniton Lance and the hangar bay and everything else, I'd be surprised if it had all of the other Sci vessel characteristics. We'll have to wait and see what the stats will be. That blog will probably hit tomorrow.

Whoa, to think that 2 month ago i got the Mobius at 90 M EC and the Wells at 215 M last month. It seems that i choose the right time to farm the EC for them, otherwise it would have been impossible for me to have them right now.
But seriously people are crazy to put such high price for them.
Ya know. A long term player said to me the other day, "you're not expecting the game itself to provide you with lots of EC are you"? If you want to be able to buy all the cool stuff, you've got to play the game to make the "cash". I've been at this less than 3 months and I've racked up 200m EC.
I appreciate the words of encouragement, but that wasn't my point. I know how to make money in the game - my bank had about 700MM at its height.
My little inquisition was that @repetitiveepic said "You can get space rich from just this one event, and easily afford the omg science dreadnought omg " and I question that claim. The ship stats may end up to be junk, so its price won't be that high. But assuming it costs at least 300MM like other promotional ships, I don't see how this one event could provide anyone with all the EC they need to buy it outright - unless you already had tons of EC to begin with. Every ship that even hits the exchange generates $250-$300 in revenue and will be priced accordingly.
I agree that you can't expect the game to give you everything; you will have to spend either game time playing and earning the currency or pay with $$$s and convert it to EC. Even if you just hang out in from of the exchange consoles and just buy-sell at the right time and price, I doubt you will have enough to buy the ship.
I am also disappointed they would put this ship obtainable as a doff-package for a limited time. I hate it when they do this... I guess I will NOT be getting this ship, no chance I will get any. =/ Don't have the EC and certainly do not have enough Zen to buy any of those packages. Still struggling with getting important rep items,..
Rule of thumb. . . . Only open lock boxes and promo packs for lobi. And only lobi. I repeat again, only open them for lobi. If you get lucky and get a ship, then kudos. But, you are seriously wasting resources opening these items "trying" to get a ship. Much easier to buy the promos, sit on them, then sell them for ec. Then go buy the ship.
And the Doffs in that pack have been less than spectacular as well. The three Starship Traits you can get from that pack have been a very low chance lot as well - going for minimums of 79 M (Point Defense Protocols), 106 M (Scramble Fighters), or 299 M (Attack Pattern Delta Prime). Count on Gama Quadrant Commodities or Fleet Provisions.
