no as i have the same issue evey night at around 9 - the time i log off, 900+ ping, high recv: number and so on
so i think cryptic really doesnt care about us, as they just want us to buy the fancy new ships, but who cares if we cant log in / stay logged in to use them right?
Well i wish other players will think with common sense as this statement. But they keep buying and buying.. so, dont expect this to change ever, unfortunately.
I was using the Cryptic Loader through Steam, but when I tried to get into the game through Arc, it blanked out for a small bit when it switched from the Cryptic load screen (with the load completion bar) to the Star Trek Online load screen. Then, instead of going to the character select screen it was just a blank wall of blank with the busy cursor icon.
Dang Icon-ians!
This happened just before the Heavy Escort Carriers went live.
So I went back to using the Loader through Steam (on a side note, I wasn't able to purchase Zen through Steam Wallet after July 24th) which seemed to have no problems with the blank screen.
Until today. Though instead of a black screen like the Loader through Arc, it's white with Steam.
The game is considered 'Unresponsive'.
Edit: After the first time the screen did the blue blank screen (between Cryptic load screen and STO load screen), it didn't do that again, even though it was a black screen (Arc)/white screen (Steam).
After I did a 'Force Verification', the loading process went back to when it first did the blue screen and the rest of the loading issue.
So maybe it's that part of the loading process that needs a good looking over.
Someone on Steam's STO discussions suggested going to Safe Mode.
It worked for me, though I was worried when the blue screen happened again. But while there seemed to be restarts with the Steam's corner pop-up thingie, it actually brought me to the character select screen.
I hope this issue gets fixed before the Los Vegas Star Trek Convention.
My wife has had nothing but problems trying to get into STO since Win 10 became available. On her laptop (fresh install of Win 10 from USB and fresh install of STO and Champions Online), she is able to login and get to the Character Select Screen. After selecting a character, she manages to get to the loading screen that shows the percentage of the game loaded and then crashes to desktop around 92%. Safe mode (DX9 through the launcher and Safe Mode), Running as an Admin, Compatibility mode.... and a second fresh install of STO yield the same results. I don't think it is an issue outside the game as she can load and Play Champions Online just fine. In fact, that's all she has been able to do is play that game since she can't load into STO unless she uses my PC.

That sounds like another issue different than what some of us in this post were experiencing and could be a direct relation to Windows 10.

I'm running Windows 7, and I've been having the same issue, I think. I log in to the game, it does the cryptic loading screen, the "Iconian War" Loading screen, then goes black and the cursor goes busy. I even left it like this overnight, and it stayed black. I click and Windows tells me that gameclient is not responding. I tried reinstalling the game, but with no help. Any word on this issue?
I'm in the UK and haven't been unable to access the game for going on 5 days now although I seem to be having an issue that is different to other people.
In short I can't get past the login on the launcher window. It just sits there saying "Logging in, please wait" but nothing happens. This suggests that the patch server isn't responding yet other people are able to access the game without issue (apparently).
I've logged a ticket (for what it's worth) and re-installed the game. Tried running it through both Arc and Steam but it keeps stalling at the same place.
As far as I can tell the problem isn't on my end but I can't be sure. My internet connection is working fine so I know its not that and the game was working fine up until last Friday.
Can anyone offer any suggestions or is this a wider problem and I should just wait for a response from the support desk?
Well, for what it's worth, today's patch did not address the issue with the wife's laptop. She manages to make it to the second loading screen... the one that shows the loading percentage, and then crashes to desktop around 92%.
GameClient.exe is not responding...

This has been going on for about a month for me, since the end of the summer event. I have repeatedly tried to log into the game, patch after patch, but gameclient crashes after the "Iconian War" loading screen before it actually gets into the main menu. I tried playing on my laptop instead, which is running Windows 8, with the same results. Apparently this is an account-related issue. I submitted a ticket (for what that's worth...) but I am really annoyed by this strange issue that no one has bothered to figure out and tell us. I haven't been able to play for around a month now, and that's really frustrating: missing out on content and unable to work on my Foundry Projects that are gathering dust now...
Is there any problem with servers? Can't login to game

Not sure if it's global or not, but my game cannot get past "connecting to the account server" for like 8 hours now...so much for the great tech support...

Also stuck at the launcher. "Loading, please wait . . . " 2 hours later and spending the day trying to be patient with 3 login attempts with the same result - Ive now uninstalled the game and tried to re-install through Arc. Guess where I'm at now? . . .
"Logging in, please wait . . . " Well - its been half an hour now.
What am I running?
ASUS R700V Corei5 - 3230M, 2.6GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M 2GB
Win 8.1
8GB RAM
Cable Internet Connection currently at 12.8MB/s
Tried turning off AVG = nothing
Tried turning off AntiSpyware = nothing
Tried turning off Malware Bytes = nothing
(did this one at a time and again ALL at the same time)
Updated all drivers = nothing
Now that I have completely wasted my Sunday on this BS in addition to always having to run the game in SafeMode since DR - can someone PLEASE throw me a bone?
Now downloading an 11GB patch (the game itself I imagine, with MORE patching to come Ill bet) with a message on the launcher that FINALLY loaded with a red barred indicator that says "The website is experiencing technical difficulties. Normal game play is not affected."
Well . . . that would have been nice to know had it been posted somewhere BEFORE my uninstall . . . Soooo ticked off right now - this re-install better not be for nothing.
Re-Install successful - still have to launch in Safe Mode. Have since tried the "fix" of downgrading my DirectX but I just cant do it - the game looks bloody awful when I do - so Ill continue the practice of Safe Mode, Loading and pumping up the fx sliders in-game until this finally gets resolved . . . which again has been since Delta Rising.
That's what was happening to me after the last patch. I found I was stuck on the "loading..." screen. I booted up in safe mode and found the display adapter in settings was set to Auto so I moved it to DX11.
It then booted fine, however I now have an ongoing issue where by map transitions and toon changes will freeze at around 94% making gameclient.exe go "not responding". It happens after variable amounts of play time. I have to kill the task and then re-load STO. Occasionally I find that then reverts to being stuck at "loading..".
So, my new cure for inability to get into the game?
My gameprefs file is set as indicted in the direct X11 thread and I have changed it to read only. I try to log in in safe mode, which worked before the last patch but now stops responding after the cryptic screen, and then cncel it with tsk manager. This will fail if repeated.
Then I come here and post about it. I immdediately try to log in using safe mode and I get in. Go figure!
only managed to get into the game once so far since returning:
1. Deleted the d3d11 dll file
2. modified the gamespref file from isDx11Enabled 1 to isDx11Enabled 0
3. started game in safe mode
4. had to delete the dx11 dll file again before hitting engage on the loader
Only worked the once though. Preference file continually enables DX11 which causes the client to hang and even throws up an nvidia warning that the display driver has stopped working!
Discon., Server not responding and lagy launcher since yesterday. It´s not a pc problem, it´s a cryptic problem, cause all other websites or games running fine! And this happens ALLWAYS when any event is running! Allways the same sh.. here! I´m tired of this!
It's 1:15 PM EDT and the lag is horrible. This is something I occasionally experience at US prime time but never during the day. Is everyone off work the same day as me and clogging Cogent?
At first I was looking at it from a regional perspective. It appeared as though this was exclusively a North America issue for access. Then after further investigation, it was kinda spread over the geo. I'm curious for any of you who were experiencing issues, can you please state the ISP that you were running through?
Using Comcast this is the only game that does this. I have been playing this game since it came out use to pay for it glad I do not now.. Fix THE ISSUE
Found the cause. Let me guess, all of you are using Norton Security Suite. Attempt log in. I just disabled my smart firewall and got in. Log out. Make certain to change the setting in the firewall from auto to allow. Go in no problem after that. (this is for comcast users)
I am on Comcast but not using TRIBBLE Norton. And still cannot log it so that is not the problem

So Safe Mode was just a temporary fix until it got 'infected' (for lack of a better term) with the same problem that the Launcher had in regular mode.

Gateway would not connect either. So I made my T-Mobile phone a hotspot and accessed the Gateway thru my tablet. No problem.
Then, I tried to connect my tablet (via Wi-Fi) on my Comcast modem. Did not connect.
Clearly a pattern here.
