So I had a few more ideas....but for the life of me I cant remember what they where except for two.

    1. Add the Nausicaan ground weapons as playable, you know the ones with the green energy arcing all over them.

    2. Make Ferengi PLAYABLE on both KDF and Rom. There are several Ferengi on Qonos and to be frank (yeah I know, "Hi Frank!!!" har har) despite the Ferengi government having a loose association with the Feds I don't see every single Ferengi marauder, pirate and lowlife wanting to go near the Feds and their rules. With the Klingons being much more open to pirating, pillaging and taking your neighbors lawnmower I can easily picture many of said scumbags working in and around the Empire, provided they work out the details with the leaders of the great houses that is.

    Ugh I can't remember the rest...so frustrating.

    Yes.

And it's a 90% nerf, so they will only give a tenth as much xp as before.
    Well that's Bogus.
In the recent Priority One Podcast, Geko mentioned wanting DOFFing rewards revamped, so that rarer missions rewarded better than they do now. I'm sure that this is just a first step in working that out. It's nice to know that there's always a "Chicken Little" ready to proclaim that the sky is falling.

But Suppress Gorn Uprising is rare.

That said, that logic isn't incorrect. But they're seriously overbalancing the XP gain in the direction of grind til you die, instead of reasonable steady progress.

    .

    1. Hell yes.

    2. I picked up a ferengi boff for my KDF aligned romulan (through T4 maurading completion, you get one off-faction bridge officer) and it has made an incredible amount of sense.

Ferengi for all (which you don't have to grind through an entire Doff profession to get) would make for a very happy me.

Any chance you'll make Gorns bigger.
I noticed some Gorn NPCs are massive, but the player versions are tiny in comparison.
Kind of kills the joy of being the biggest possible Gorn when npc gorns tower over you.

Just need MOAR female Klingon hairstyles, and more importantly outfits which must have <ahem> "Puppy Windows". (.)(.)

TNG, DS:9 and ST:V all had Female Klingon's in various "dresses", so there are plenty of ideas around.

I especially like the outfit and hairstyle of Ch'Rega, from the ST:V episode 'Prophecy'
(and one of my favourite interaction sequences between her and Neelix :) )

    Time to ask three very simple, and three very straight questions to crypticjoejing here;

    1. Are we getting Female Nausicaans?
    2. Are the Female Klingon's getting those chest pieces that often pop up in request threads?
    3. When can we expect more Hair Options for our Warriors?

Ah ha! I remembered. The first one I think has been requested many, MANY times, but I am going to request it anyway.

    Expanded color palette! PLEASE!!!

Next one is not exactly Klingon exclusive, but I am bringing it up because of the lack of KDF costume options compared to others.

    Unified Costume Tab

All the costumes in one spot. If I want to combine my cocktail dress with some heavy armor I should be able to. I should be able to combine pieces from the Honor Guard, Dyson and Delta armor costumes to make the most kick a...butt armor of all!!

this isn't a full revamp... it's just a first step they're taking. that said I'm quite curious to see what step 2 is.

Cocktail dress, honor guard boots, a dagger, crazy hair, two pairs of sunglasses, and Kobali pyjama pants will be what I will show up in on my next ground pve.

I did actually check the date of this thread because I really, honestly, truly, really thought it must've been an April Fools joke. :o

Just logged in. The knee high boots are niiiice. I'm dying to get my hands on the new T6 ships next. Looking forward to further improvements. Thank you for throwing us some love. :)

ps A costume tab would be an awesome idea. Just a way to sort the costumes/toons. Changing clothes at the tailor usually involves this kind of process: "Okay. Clicking "Load"... oh mystical black box, thou hath frozen my screen in preparation for delivery of the great bounty of all six thousand racks of my costumes I've requested from the great sky server..."

ps ps One of the reasons I made a Klingon alien is because I wanted to make a Klingon (my guy is a quasi hybrid, but all Klingon at heart) that actually looked more real, as well as big and tough like you'd expect to see.

    I can dig it.

Edit: Yet another idea comes to mind. The TR rifles. They should have a different look depending on who is using them. If its a Fed they keep the look they have now, but if it is a KDF officer the TR should LOOK like a KDF weapon. So many great KDF sniper models already in the games just pick one, though if it where me I would go with the Adapted Sniper look, that thing screams KDF more then any other sniper.

Well to be clear THIS is a KDF character asset revamp. THAT (the thing he was referring to) is just an alarmist's reaction to a Doffing bug fix.

Anyway my bet on step 2 (referring to THIS not THAT) is a Fel'Khri episode revamp (with a further bet on a S11 release date) with perhaps a couple of other KDF updates (ex. revamped Qo'Nos) if cryptic is feeling particularly fiesty.

I'm liking these updates, at last some love to the KDF that is long overdue.

I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of people asking for the Dahar Master long coat, something that is desperately wanted among KDF players. Tbh we've been asking for it, for years, we live in hope. :)

Orion bare leg, can wear boots now! Yaaay!

Now if only the Klingon TOS Thigh high boots, and a slightly longer the fed skirt were availible. *sigh*

Remember how the two female crew were dress aboard the Klingon ship that Riker flirted with?) They were not quite wearing the male warrior type clunky foot gear. And the camera did pan back at one point and give us a pretty good look at how they were dressed. Intimidating, and "Not Klingon Male" And lets see, how about the Klingon woman Riker whipped up for Worf when he was given Q powers for a short time.

.... Riker and Klingon women... Ya know, ya gotta wonder...

The KDF need these changes. But we desperately need Use of the various other Klingon melee weapons. At least the d'k tag and met'leth and maybe the Gin'Tak spear.

just a little thing to add; when kdf toons beam to their ships, they use an invisible device on their arm. maybe you could attach a wrist attach like the one available for the roms.

i know, it is a detail, but this detail makes me crazy :P

I have been a KDF player for 4+ years but every time they claim to be doing something for the KDF it usually boils down to a few issues. First one is it never happens and then the issue gets swept away and they start claiming TRIBBLE about promises lol. Then if we do get something its not anything unique to KDF gameplay because its then sold to federation players as lockbox cash grabs. In a lot of cases they will make something that no one really wants and then we are blamed because it didn't make them much money(but will claim they lost money). So really this thread is most likely about as far as a Klingon revamp will go but then as the topic is buried in forums so will the statement from cryptic about revamping them and then if it does actually happen you will have to cross your fingers that they don't penalize you with more drawbacks as they originally intend because you are a KDF player lol.

That has to be the oldest thing they said long ago we would "Someday" get but its been 5 years and although there is a dahar master rank there is no jacket. Although this isn't surprising being that the KHG uniform was released with season 5 in the ending of 2011 which was almost 4 years ago and is still broken.

I have always wondered when I see posts like thing but never asked...so I am going to ask this time. Just how long have you been playing? Do you take everything you read on the forums as gospel? If you are so unhappy with the game why are you even playing?

Seriously if you had been playing a DEDICATED KDF officer from day one you would be thrilled at this.

Besides the revamp looks wise can we get a REAL Battlecruiser for once? Not a reskinned Fed Swiss army knife BUT A REAL DEDICATED WARSHIP WITH HEAVY SHIELDS AND HEAVY ON TACTICAL CONSOLES not burdened with an over abundence of Eng or Sci consoles? Klingon ships are NOT exploration or science ships but WAR SHIPS out to defend and expand the Empire by force if needed!

Something I always thought would be unique for a KDF battleship would be giving it two special "Heavy Turret" slots that you could slot any weapon into regardless of type (dual beams, heavy cannon what have you). This would of course require a bit of a reduction in other areas but I could see it working wonderfully. The turret could even change how it works based on what you place in it. Placing dual heavy cannons in it would of course allow the heavy cannons to fire in any direction but with maybe a slightly reduced fire rate, where as placing a regular turret in the heavy turret slot would increase it's fire rate or damage. It could make for a very versatile weapon.

we are awash in "Big Slow Cruisers", most of them get used once or twice, then put away for ships that are actually fun to fly and don't require a month of time and a week's pay in Zen-to-Dilithium or Zen-to-Lockbox-Keys to outfit.
Everyone has different playstyles, and some people happen to like sitting their firing off their beam weapons. I'll grant you, the Bortas was poorly received, but that was on Cryptic. Cruisers as a whole though, they're the best things going.

One of the bigger problems (for me) in this game - and it's something that isn't likely to change so I just suck it up and get on with it, but it's the lack of variety. KDF ships should play different to FED ships. I'm not talking about giving the Birds of Prey the Raider bonuses (although that is a step in the right direction), nor am I talking about the cloak.

I'm on about having the KDF ships more... focused toward threat I guess. You make a good point with those command ship bundles. Their stats are just a copy/paste job for all three factions; there's nothing unique about them. A prime example here is the Mogh Class; a hard, heavy-hitting battlecruiser. FEDs should never have gotten the Avenger. The battlecruiser title should have remained exclusive to the KDF.

As stated, I know it's not going to change; far too late now for that, but this is the sort of thing that could/should have been looked at back when. Same goes for traits; KDF traits shouldn't be the same as FED traits, nor should their abilities.

The whole point in factions (should be) their differences. STO (for the most part) doesn't offer that.

Or, patrickngo, you could take those battle cruisers and play them differently than the meta dictates. All BCs are perfectly viable with a cannon build or cannon/beam hybrid build, like they are supposed to be fitted. The game still offers more than BFAW.

    EDIT:

I fully agree. I even take it further, the ships of the factions shouldn't even be able to fit the same weapons. But all plans to make this a two faction game have ultimately been abandoned and everything is now cross-faction jam and what was unique is made publicly available so you never have to roll another character to experience different gameplay.
